    My Trip Report

Well, it was time for another trip out to Vegas, have 5 nights reserved in a go room through my host at the Flamingo.

Ready to leave and my buddy has an ear infection and cant get on plane, first loss of the trip.

So, we retool. Fly out from PHL on SWA, rather uneventful except for the fact that a guy had a seizure on the plane. Thankfully there was a doctor on board and he seemed to recover.

Take Bell trans shuttle to Flamingo. Decided not to get a car as to not waste precious gambling budget. Go to Diamond check in and they have my room available at 10am, score! The gave me bellagio view on the 25th room. As the GO rooms have already been well described on this board, I will not bore you with that.

Took with me a little more than 3K to gamble with. Spent first day as a tourist. I went to the Diamond desk and got free tickets to Vinnie Favorito at the Flamingo, and Legends at Harrahs. I had to go to harrahs to pick up the tickets so that was my first excursion. After getting that done, I sign up for the players card at Casino Royale and try their $10 coupon for a 40-coin hit on the WOF. Well, it costs me $40 damn dollars to get my "free" $10.

Stopped in Harrahs and played some Pai Gow tiles and lost $30 (yes I am the one non-asian who plays that game)

I then took a stroll through the Bellagio and looked as they were putting the finishing touches on their Chinese new year display... it looked cool.

Checked out Aria. I agree with a lot of the other views of it. It looks nice, but reminds me of M, but darker. So much for the natural light that is supposed to be everywhere.

Played some PGP there and got some $1 chips for friends back home, broke even realitively.

Went to Monte Carlo, played some PGP, broke even, floorperson gre up about 1/2 mile away from me, small world. Went to PHO and played some PGP and slots, made about $20.00 Back to the Flamingo and played some horses, lost $60, damn.

Sat down at Paigow poker and lost another $100, start of a trend....

Went to see Vinnie Favorito. HE IS F"INg Hilarous!! WARNING, if you are offended by racial, ethnic, religious, or any other kind of humor, DONT GO. He is like Don Rickles on steroids. He picks on EVERYONE! (5 claps!)

Got a good night's sleep and move on to day two.

Woke up played 4 hours of poker at the flamingo so I would qualify for their friday $2000 free roll. Got kings cracked once for $25 and left up $30 . Then it gets a little fuzzy for me. I played pai gow poker and quickly lost $300, damn! Went to Mirage, played PGP in high limit room, drinking copious amounts of Macallan 12. One sad note, you now need to bet $100 a hand to get a free cigar, I was only playing $50 damn! Let there up a little, total loss for trip $600

--Note there are numerous $20- 50 slot sesssions in here that are too numerous to list.

    Sleep, wash, lather, rinse, repeat.

Friday-- Wake up play the freeroll at flamingo, nothing. Went to play PGP at Flamingo, lost almost all of my $600 buy in and clawed back, I'll take that as a win. Took the deuce downtown as I had reserved a night at the ELCO.

Played some BJ at GN, hot dealer, cold cards. $100 fast. (even at $5 a hand!) Played some bj at freemont -$50 A monopoly slot a binions, .40 a shot, hit the bonus and got $220 --score!!! Went to Fitz, had $10 FSP, got $9.00 back, also had $10 free food, ate at the courtyard grill. Had a grilled portobello sandwich (3 forks)

Bought 5 madura churchills from cigar store on freemont by the elco, they roll them there so there is no brand. Good draw, vanilla notes, smooth finish (3.5 puffs)

Checked in to elco, had an offer for 3 nights with 25 fsp and 25 food credit and............... a free mini liquor. (got christian brothers brandy) Got a tower room and it is dated, but clean and nice with a comfy bed (2.5 ahhs)

Walked over to elco for some BJ, lost $275 over 3 sessions. I had a horse that I owned a share in running at Charles town Races and wanted to watch. So I hit the racebook, got programs and started handicapping. Had $100 budget, first race at Penn national I hit a horse at 8-1 had $3 WPS and $2 exacte dworth a total of $140 --YES!. Put the $140 in my pocket and played with the rest. For every $10 in race bets they were giving me 2 drink tickets, so I was getting quite a stash. I chose makers mark old fashioneds,
(yes i still drink them) and went to town. Ordered from their- gamblers gourmet menu, where they bring room service right to the casino floor. Nothing fancy, grilled cheese and bacon, fries, $5.95 (2.5 forks) Back to the races, my horse fininshed a strong third and he ran great. I get $180 in purse money when I get home! Played a while longer and still had $70 left. So horses are +110

Saw a piano player at there bar outside the steakhouse. Settled in and listened to Ray play. He took requests all night and I met this nice local couple, and with the help of all the drink tickets, we all had a great time (3.5 claps) Real old-school vegas feel here. Cigars and makers mark, great combo.

Side note- saw I guy hit two big handpays, $2500, and $10000 on their bartop poker, maybe the machines are hot? Also saw a $4000 royal hit, all in 3 hours at the same bar.. More handpays than I saw the rest of the trip just walking around!

    ***Drunk gambling alert*****
On way up to room, I decided that it would be a good idea to play the big penny wof multi-level jackpots. I went from small profit for the day to $200 loser.....damn
    ****sober up****

Went back up to strip for saturday, played mechanicla horse racing at MGM Grand and won 9.00 When I went to the cage for quarters the cashier yelled "ITS HORSEY TIME"

Guy next to me turned $1.00 in change into $80.00 I felt great for him, then he tells me his fiancee hit for 25K last night.....Now I want him to buy me a drink!!!!!

Walked to Pinball hall of fame on Tropicana by Maryland parkway--------long walk!!!!! Worth it!!! more than 160 machines, all working, awesome !

Went to crown and anchor pub, listed on LVA's site for top ten values. $20 VP max bet buyin--free lunch and beer. Not bad (lost $40)

Took a cab to flamingo, where ted the taxi driver offered to take me to a massage parlor where they would "blow the wax out of your ears" for an extra $50. The hotel will be fine, thank you.

Played PGP at Flamingo, couldnt catch a hand, nothing over trips lost $200
(lost moe than $300 just on fortune bonus bets, then stopped playing them only to get a straight flush!)

Watch Eagles play the cowboys...nuff said. Got pizza from the pizza shop preety good (3 "mamma-mias") Lost about another $100 on slots and called it a night.

At this point only down $800, trip going well.

    Next morning

Play some poker at Flamingo -$10
Walk on down to V-P get a grazie card, upgraded to gold with my diamond. Played $5 Wof, hit lots of spins, made no money -$300. Played some keno $-50 Bought in $300 at the 1-2 NL poker.

First hand--flop set of 5's--other guy set of tens -$180
Second hand--flop stright, double up $240 total
third hand-top pair top kicker $290 total
fourth hand-pocket queens vs pocket aces $100 left
fifth hand- flop queen flush, against king flush busto

Went to gold card lounge and relaxed, it's nice, good contiental breakfast, newspaper, and Tim, an attentive butler. (4 ahhs)

Won back $100 on slots at V/P

Went to flamingo, lost about 100 on slots. PLayed PGP bought in only $200, and st for 4.5 hours (amazing how long the money lasts without the bonus bet) Sweet talked floor into a decent rating (I have to keep my host happy) Nice dealers, Jane Ann, Brian, and Bashir all great. Enjoyed watching football while playing. Lots on corvosier (sp) and smoked cigars.

Went to Legends show at Harrahs (3.5 claps)

Destroyed diamond club a few times.

Next morning- I put my self on -no gambling, I have a bad history on the day of departure. Had breakfast at Flavors at harrahs, good service from Rudy (3.5 forks)

Host took care of my charges with tr credits and a $60 discretionary comp.
    Went to airport, then

***************lost $300 on F*****ing airport slots, plus $100 in food and booze, CRAP!!!!

But had a great time, thanks for reading.

Played no craps, you deal enough of the game you can get sick of it. Maybe next trip. I never saw a table with the right "vibe"

    Thanks for the Trip Report.

You mentioned that Mirage had PGP in the hi limit room. What were the minimums for the table? Do you know of any other places that spread PGP in the hi limit rooms, the only other one i've seen is Mandalay Bay.

Great TR, thanks! I always take it easy on the last day, cause going home after getting killed on the last day makes me not want to take a trip again for awhile, and dammit I like that itch to return to Vegas

You got show tickets from the Diamond desk? How do you manage that? I always call my casino host and have to wait for him to get back to me. Did they comp them on the spot? Make a call for you? Were they deducted from your awards credits? I learn something new everyday!

Anyhow...I enjoyed the report. I am a small time horse owner myself....and a lifelong horse player. I spend hours upon hour in the sportsbook. One of the things that I like about HET is the ability to get credit for horse play. Sounds like a great week of fun.......Thanks for writing!

As a diamond member you get 2 show tickets per month in las vegas, to the "b" shows. The big money shows are at 2 for 1.

They are comped and they give you a voucher to take to the box office, going alone I politely asked for one ticket each to two shows and they obliged. Cost ZERO rewards credits.

P.S. Anyone interested in fractional horse ownership can PM me.

Drank mostly macallan 12, johnny black, glenlivet 12, and had some islay scotch which I cant remember.

Started drinking the makers mark the one night and just kept going, a good bourbon in my book.

Sorry to disappoint peanutmnm, I just cant reach your level of scotchitude, but am willing to try :drunk:

Second the notion of the ElCo piano lounge. Last month, I stumbled upon it and had relaxing time listening and making requests.

Thanks for the ratings, I often do the "xtra room" downtown just so I dont have to worry about being safe after drinking myself into oblivion.

P.S. the "Ahhhh" rating also applies to spas, massages, and pools.
