    My Trip Report

    I’M BACK
I like reading other peoples detailed trip reports, so hopefully I can fill the void that people are
looking for while waiting for there next trip to Vegas
So grab a cup of coffee and enjoy

dates: September 18 to September 21 quick trip

Here we go we are flying Allegiant Air out of Duluth, as we walk in to the airport they tell us our
aircaft will be arriving in a 30 minutes, so we should proceed thru security. We had pre booked our
seats and were carrying on our luggage. No not a big lunky suitcase, but a small over the shoulder
carry on….I'ts 100 degrees there how much clothes do you need for 3 days.
Our flight is scheduled to leave at 1:45 and we are all on the plane ready to go by 1:30
non eventful flight, not too bumpy, good service, they came thru 3 times peddling there wares
on the last pass I decided to do a Jack and diet to start the vacation, hubby slept so I had it all to
myself. Read a book and the 3 hours passed very quickly.
Landed a half hour early and we were off, no cab line, had to wait a bit to get the cabs to pull forward
we could see them but there was a lot of pedestrian traffic so they didn't let the new line pass thru
till it was all clear….Excrutiating seeing the cabs and just not being able to get one LOL
We were off the Flamingo, some traffic and some construction, but it didn't seem that bad for 3:30
on a Friday. Cab fare came to about 25 with the tip.
FLAMINGO: we go to check in and the line for the common folk was quite long luckily we were platinum
card holders so we got to go in the diamond/platinum room . No line at all , walked up gave him our info
looked down and saw a penny on the floor
(put that in the pocket for good luck) :nworthy:
    he says :
I have you 3 nights comped in a King Go Room!!!! YIPEE!!!! I had called on Wednesday and inquired
about upgrading to a GO room (was willing to pay extra) I was told that all upgrades would be available
at check in,but she would make a note on my res form…well it must have worked and the penny had magical powers
Off we went to our GO room 21060. about 21 steps from the elevator, so no
long walk down the hallway. Okay the room is a little shocking, a lot of bright pink, not a very big room
basically it had a ultra comfy king size bed, a desk, a big asscreen tv, and a little couchy type thing by the window
and TADA I open the drapes and there is the bellagio fountains and the Eiffel Tower
Love that penny……. The closet was nice a big , the safe was locked so we had to wait 20 minutes for
maintenance to come and open it. I unpacked and organized. The bathroom was odd. It had a sliding
glass door going in to it which didn't quite close all the way, so privacy in the bathroom was at a bare minimum
Fine for the 2 of us, but if you had more than that, I think it would be weird.
The Bathroom had a tv built in to the mirror, a tub, and a shower with dual nozzles….aaaahhh
this door also didn't quite close all the way, so the floor would get kind of wet while you were showering
It had a marble countertop and a small basin sink. There wasn't a lot of room on the countertop to put
anything and there weren't any hooks, so I found that odd, and the bathrooms needed a little more
thought put in to them. The room also had a fridge, coffee pot (only decaf though) and a brown hassock,
not sure when you would use this but it was tucked under the counter.
So basically within 90 minutes of landing we were all settled in and hitting the casino for our first
miller lite of the trip. I write these things down so I can remember, but the paper is in my bag at home still,
so I'll try to get thru this first day and finish the rest tomorrow. We hung out at the Flamingo for
a couple of rounds and then went to Margaritaville for supper, had to wait 20 minutes, no big deal
we order the nachos and 2 mango margaritas, I don't know how anyone could order these Nachos for
themselves, we were starving and still only barely put a dent in them. Next we roamed down the strip
towards Harrahs and stopped along the way at The Imperial Palace, where the beer is cold and plentiful
they still have the best drink service here of all the properties we visited. We gambled for quite awhile
no big hits but we weren't getting killed anyway. We basically play slots usually the entertaining
penny and 2 cent machines but we'll be swayed towards the dollars and quarters at times. Head
back to the Flamingo and the strip was PACKED, you could hardly move and had to walk single file
everywhere, I found myseld haning on to hubby's belt loop, so we wouldn't get detached. I'm not
a big fan of crowds and was relieved to get back to the Flamingo, where we played out our evening with
a few more cocktails, they were coming around quite a bit on this night, it must have been the crowd
I finally tapped out around midnight, I had been up for 22 hours , so I was wiped out. Grabbed my
last beer and headed up to the room and caught a couple of the fountain shows relaxing in the room
Hubby showed up a couple hours later, he had made it up 24 hours, though he did nap a bit on the plane
Did a cash count for the day and found out that after all the cabs, drinks, and meals, I was ahead
30 bucks. ( I keep all the spending cash, that way I know I get to eat and drink) Love my Penny!!!
The bed was super comfy though they only had 3 pillows and they flattened out pretty fast, I'll have
to ask for more in the morning, but til then , I get the extra one, since I came to bed first.
I had the air conditioning blowing on my all night, since I couldn't get the vent to redirect, Hubby
figured it out the next day. Slept pretty good considering it was blowing on my constantly.
Woke up at 7AM and said Hey I'm in Vegas, no time for extra sleep!!!
    Day 2 coming soon……………………………….

Great so far!! Can't wait to read the rest.

I tried Margaritaville my last trip and loved it. I had the Volcano Nachos, completely unaware how much there are. Washed down with a Bahama-mama margarita..mmm mmm good.

    Trips to Las Vegas:
    12
    Day 2:
Got up around 7 AM and headed down for an overpriced cup of coffee
and did a walk around the grounds. This is so much easier to do when all
the crowds are still sleeping. Slipped a 20 in some kind of Martian Machine
and sipped my coffee and ended up cashing out 60 bucks
woo hoo, back up stairs to get sleeping beauty moving.
We had a slot tourney today at the Rio and we had to go get registered for that
we also had free tickets to the Price is Right so had to hit up Bally's Box office
for those. Headed out to Bally's, while waiting for the Box office to open
we played machines next to each other and each cashed out 100 bucks
good start to the day, hope the tourney goes that well
took the shuttle out to the rio and got our slot time set for 4:30
perfect we can hit up the price is right and jump a cab back in time
Had a coupon for 2 free buffets at the rio so we overstuffed ourselves here
and rolled back towards the strip, I think we landed at Paris. So we are too
stuffed to drink but we order a couple of gin and tonics, now I have never been
asked this, but the waitress asks if we want a double shot???? We decline
because we know with the size of the glasses and all the ice we would basically
have a glass of gin on the rocks, So instead we ended up with what tasted
like a glass of tonic!!!!! Bopped around Paris and got our butts kicked by
the French, so we galloped on back to the Flamingo to get rid of our
Slot Tourney gift - a lovely silverish nut bowl and a bag of snack mix…
dumped that off and hit up the Price is Right, didn't win a thing but it was fun
good group of people there, the crowd was more entertaining than the show
Got back to the Rio in time for our slot time, he managed to get over 12000
points so it was a good start. Not much to offer at this tourney. They had a
couple of cocktail waitresses handing out bottles of water and security handing
out some beads, other than that it's slap the button for 15 minutes and leave!!
We ended up on the shuttle back to the Paris again, same results for hubby
but I managed to win a little, then on the way out we hit up a couple of newer
machines and we both cashed out 100 bucks, We needed a snack now since
our buffet finally wore off so we hit up the burger place between Paris and
Bally's and shared some sliders and onion rings, just enough to refuel and keep
us going Played at Bill's(had a margarita there….YUMMY) you could even taste
the tequila. Highly recommed this for a buck
back to home base(Flamingo) to finish up the evening. We were playing on a row
of machines that were hitting all night long, nothing big, but it was fun to watch everyone else
I cashed out a little, but mostly just watched. Of course I cash out
60 out of my 20 and some lady hits up that machine and goes on a tear with
it hitting bonus after bonus….sigh…oh well I was up…had to quit
Hit the room again around 11, tried to get in to the fountain show but I was way
too tired , so off I went to dream land, watching the slot machines go through my
head (does anyone else get slot machine eyes…ya know when you close your eyes and you can still see the reels moving)

did a cash count and I spent 150 bucks today. Only down 120 for the trip

    Day 3:
Up again around 7:00 head for coffee and tried to play my martian machine
but it was a lot busier in the casino this morning, must be Sunday and
everyone is trying to get there last fill for the weekend. I went and hung out
by the pool for an hour, by 9 am there was a lot of people out there but not much sun, it started peaking over the buildings by 9:30 ish
had a cup of coffee and read my book. Back to the room to get ready for the day
Hubby was anxiously awaiting a breakfast buffet at Harrahs, so we finally made
it there by 11. Stuffed ourselves….AGAIN…played around Harrahs for a bit
Hubby hit 500 bucks on a 1 cent whales of cash…yipee…he shares part with me
we head towards the Venetian and it's freakin hot outside
I feel my flip flops melting around my feet. The Venetian as usual STINKS
I get a woozy feeling just walking up to the door, there is just something about
that smell that gets to me, so we don't stay here to long. Back out into the sun
for a walk back the Casino Royal, we did okay here, I won 20 and hubby hit for
around 100 I think. Catch the Harrahs shuttle back to the Rio for our last round
of the tourney, and since he was in the top 100 we would have hang around here
for a couple of hours to see how he did. He got 13000 points on this round so
his total was over 25000 this seemed like a decent score. Played a bit and went
to McFadden's and shared a sandwich and fries. We didn't win much playing here
but the machines were fun and you could get some play time out of your 20
Check the scores and Hubby finishd in 23rd place, which was good for 200 dollars
in slot play. He did managed to turn this in to almost 250 . The winner of the tourney
had over 32000 points, WOW she had 2 great machines
Cabbed it back to the Flamingo and walked back to Bills and Imperial Palace to
play a bit, no big wins, but no big butt kickin' either
back to the Flamingo and in bed by 11 - 5 AM wake up call for our 7:30 flight

Cash Count - spent 105 today - so for 225 dollars I had a long weekend in
Vegas - Love it - I can spend that in one trip to the mall - Vegas is more fun!!!

Heading Back today, flight was uneventful, It's always funny on the way out
every one is hootin' and hollerin' and on the way home everyone is sawing logs

Time to save up for the next trip :drunk:

For those of you staying at the Flamingo here is a little tip for inexpensive (and good) morning coffee/breakfast/lunch.

Behind the Flamingo Pool (Just past the hot tubs) there is a deli/convienience store on the lower level of the Hilton Grand Vacation Club.

It is really nice and they have a great selection (including starbucks cofee) - they make made to order breakfast sandwiches, great wraps, have pre-made fruit cups, salads, etc.

Unlike the Java Coast(s) inside the casino, there is often no line and have better selection.

    Have fun!

I went to the TPIR and I walked out with almost 600. I got called to contestants row and won my heat. I got to play cliffhanger and won. My prize was a washer and dryer but I took the cash option. Too bad you only get what they paid for it, not retail value, but oh well.

We had a great time and I made all my friends jealous...

Thanks for the report. I have stayed in those GO rooms 4 or 5 times, and the one thing that always bugs me is the lack of hooks in the bathroom, as you mentioned. I just think that's weird. But, hell, you can't argue with free rooms.

So I called the Flamingo and asked them if I could upgrade my comped room to a Go room and she gave me some outragous prices or she said she could put it in the notes that I would like a Go room and see what happens at check-in. I hope your luck rubs off on me.
