:confused2:Honesty time here, we don't drive on the strip. We are chicken shits mainly because you have to know exactly where the parking garages are located to be in the correct lane for them. The only time we rented a car was when we stayed at the Rio and even then shuttled to midstrip. We did have enough nerve to drive down Industrial to the Circus Circus lot and walk from there.

Dewey recently had a wonderful post about the CAT system...I was wondering if anyone could put together a sticky for parking garages. With 8 trips to Vegas I still don't know where the self park entry is for most strip properties (let's face it, when you take a cab you don't generally see the back of the properties). We prefer self park to Valet...which are generally by the main door hence easier to find. The back streets can be difficult to negotiate when you haven't driven around there before.

For example I have no idea where to self park for Bellagio or MGM. The Harrahs IP back parking looks like a nightmare when I take the shuttle. Is the Flamingo Entry to Bellagio for high rollers only? I noticed they have a North Garage.

I'm sure others besides myself would appreciate this information. Is anyone up to the task?

This is a tough one. What you need is a Strip map, with parking entrances pointed out. But I can help with a few. I'm sure others can add a lot more.

Bellagio - Entrance is off the Strip. If you're facing Bellagio, the entrance is to the left (south) of the lake. I think, if you're driving north, there's a traffic light and a left turn lane to get you in there.

TI - Entrances off the Strip south of TI, and also off of Spring Mountain Rd, heading east or west.

Mirage - Entrances off the Strip, between Mirage and TI. Can also access off Spring Mountain using the same entrance as TI.

Wynn - Entrance is off Strip, on north side of Wynn.

NYNY - Entrance off off Strip north of NYNY. Also, entrance of of Tropicana behind NYNY, if you're heading west.

Paris/Planet Hollywood - Entrance off the Strip, between the two hotels. There's also an entrance from the back road (Koval?).

If I can think of some more off the top of my head, or if I get a chance to look at a map, I'll add to the list.

Anyone else - please feel free to correct anything I got wrong.

Thanks Dave...I can tell where the garages are usually from the propety maps or google earth. Knowing doesn't always tell you how to drive in..LOL.

    To add to Dave's...

There is a light to make the left from Las Vegas Blvd into Bellagio's garage.

TI/Mirage can also be accessed via Industrial/Frank Sinatra. When heading north you make a right before the Spring Mtn. overpass.

Wynn's garage also has access to Encore. Additionally, Encore has its own garage. Also accessible from Las Vegas Blvd. There are signs to direct the way.

NYNY can also be accessed from Tropicana when heading east, there's is a light to make the left.

Planet Hollywood has entrances off of Harmon and Audrie.

Paris/Bally's share a garage. It can be accessed from Las Vegas Blvd., Flamingo or Audrie.

    To continue...

Mandalay Bay/THEhotel has entrances off Hacienda and Frank Sinatra/Industrial.

Luxor has a small two level garage, entrances off Hacienda and Frank Sinatra.

Excalibur also has a small two level garage, I access it from Frank Sinatra but there's likely another entrance from Tropicana, perhaps?

Monte Carlo tore down their garage for CityCenter construction. They have a small lot behind the hotel. You can use NYNY garage.

Caesars has access from Las Vegas Blvd and Frank Sinatra.

Stratosphere has an entrance on Baltimore, I think.

Sahara has entrances on Paradise and Las Vegas Blvd. There are two garages that connect on a floor 4 or 5, I think.

Riviera I've always entered from Paradise at Riviera Blvd.

Palazzo has easy access from Sands (known as Spring Mtn west of Las Vegas Blvd).

Venetian's garage is a nightmare, I don't recommend it. Entrances are off Las Vegas Blvd and at the light off Koval runs along the Sands Convention Center.

Harrah's can be reached the same way as Venetian off Koval, there is also an entrance off Las Vegas Blvd. And it can be accessed off Winnick there's an alley than runs from Venetian to Flamingo.

IP has access from the strip and Koval via Winnick. Even Audrie can get you there. All by using that alley. I don't recommend their garage it's also a nightmare.

Flamingo is also accessed by that alley or Audrie. I think there's strip access, too.

Barbary Coast has an entrance off Flamingo.

MGM has an entrance off Tropicana. There is a light when heading east.

Tropicana has an entrance off Las Vegas Blvd and Reno, I think. It's another I don't recommend it's tiny and there's never parking. You're better off in the parking lot off Tropicana.

So, for example, if I come out of the north side of Rio, down W Twain, go straight at the light (under 15) take a right on Sinatra can I take Jay Sarno Way to Caesars garage? I am looking to come in the backsides not necessarily the strip sides. Am I correct that Mirages garage is between the Mirage and TI? looks like it on the map I was looking at. Still interested in the Bellagio entrance off of Flamingo. Hubby likes Rio not sure if that will be next stay or not. Any answers appreciated I am going to print this whole thread out when I'm done.

    Courtesy of Vegas.com....:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

By the way, I rented a car in July and it was a great way to get around. You can hit downtown (open air lot by MSS was simple to get into), the off strip places for good food and fun (garages and open air lots), North Strip park at TI, South Strip park at MGM.....

One final tip.....Before you go look at the "Birds Eye" view on microsoft live maps (bing map I think it is called now). I scoped out all the entrances and street via satellite. Made life really easy.

Good idea for a thread! I'll add the sticky to it now.

Do you need a map? Or just the lists like Dave, Vegasbound and the link domeboy included? Certainly would be an interesting project, but I have little room for new projects right now. :)

I know we had a crazy time driving around the block a couple of times before we could figure out how to get into Aladdin when it first (re-)opened. That was a "blink and you miss it" entrance from the Strip.

What I think would be handy would be a directory of all the "secret" entrances and back ways into the hotels. We almost never drive on LVB if we can manage it. The traffic is almost always too crazy. Now that I live in a place where most traffic jams are either caused by kids on bikes or horses, it's a lot harder for me to drive in the city. Getting around Vegas is hard enough without having to worry about taxis zipping around you and all those pedestrians who step out in front of you. Besides, I'm usually too drunk to drive. :drunk:

The lists are helpful, but for the heck of it, I've started a Google Map that everyone can edit and add to called "Vegas Parking". As indicated, it doesn't concentrate on the garages themselves, but the location of the entrances. As I said, I just added a few to start -- feel free to add and/or edit (though you have to have a Google account to do so).

Thanks all! Next trip we may even drive downtown...the MSS open air lot sounds good to me! We never took the car out at night because it's harder to read the street signs. Next trip will be an adventure...I think we are ready to take the plunge.

This google map was working for me last week and showed all the entrances to the garages and now it isn't working. Can anyone tell me why this is the case possibly? Thanks!

Edit: I figured it out now. Sorry.

Does anyone know if there is a more current version of parking garage access on the strip. i have used this link for many many years, but there has been a lot of construction especially with the linq construction and an updated version would be great to have.

We stopped driving a number of trips back. Cabs and walking seem just as easy. And, we tend to drink too much anyways.

But, as I remember, almost all places have signs as you enter the property.

I rely on my GPS, but it needs an accurate address. It's impossible to find those specifically for valet parking! My goal is to gather up GPS coordinates when an address isn't available or doesn't work. I thought I had stored more, but here's two - Valet parking locations - I captured this trip:

    Harrah's: N36 (degrees) 07.175'
    W115 (degrees) 10.217'

    Monte Carlo: N36 (degrees) 06.272'
    W115 (degrees) 10.583'

The Caesar's self-park is very easy to locate and access taking Sinatra to Jay Sarno. That is one of the easiest and best self-park's on the strip. Palazzo garage access of Sands is also very easy and convenient - escalators take you right into the casino from the self-park. I only know how to get to the Bellagio self-park off of the strip - but from Rio taking Flamingo to the strip you just have to make two quick rights and you are there - once you are on that main entrance road the self-park for Bellagio is very easy and convenient to the property.

If you are going to the south strip Sinatra takes you right to the Mandalay Bay parking garage which is very easy to access. I have liked the access to the Monte Carlo garage in the past also - but with the construction in that area now I am not sure if that still works well. On the east side I think the Planet Hollywood garage is an easy one to access - but you do end up walking through the mall so it is not as convenient if you just want to get to the strip.
