    My Trip Report

We had a great trip. Spent most of the time focused on gambling and drinking. 3 nights at the Luxor and roundtrip airfare on southwestern were $300 each from Dallas.

    8/10

Our flight landed in Vegas @ 8:30. It was my first time to see the Vegas lights from the air. Talk about getting your blood pumping! Our flight was not crowded at all. 59 passengers total. We each had an empty seat between us. Nice!

Our taxi arrived at the Luxor at 9:00. ($20 with tip.) The line at check in was crazy long. We waited for about an hour. Then, we brought our stuff up to the rooms. Our standard rooms were just fine. We werent looking for anything special. We headed down to the pyramid cafe and ate then, headed over to the Tropicana.

We played craps for about 4 hrs. None of the eight of us had EVER played craps before and we loved it. I am primarily a bj player but am glad to have found another game to add to the repertoire. The dealers were great. Very patient and taught us a lot. We basically had the table to ourselves. We headed back to the Lux at 5 am and crashed.

    8/11 DOWNTOWN

Today was our Downtown day. It was probably the most fun day we had. Drinks were plentiful and cheap. Gaming was cheap. We found tequila shots for $3 each and had 4 rounds of those. I did not win anything downtown but that was ok. We found $3 craps and $5 blackjack. The light show was awesome. WE were pretty hammered when the Queen show came on. We all layed flat on our backs in the middle of fremont street watching the show. Lots of tourist were recording us and taking pictures as we sang at the top of our lungs. Fun times. We had the $7 lunch buffet at the Nugget. It was pretty good for 7 bucks. We had dinner there too. I persuaded my friends to go down to the El Cortez. This place is dicey. I was playing $3 craps beside a guy who was taking out in the middle of the game and arrested during the game for having counterfiet money. I believe he had been smoking the marijuana. I believe this because he turned to me and said," I need another blunt." several times. We taxied back to the Luxor at midnight. 4 guys went to bed and myself and 3 more headed back to the tropicana. This is when i began winning. Bought in at the $10 bj table with 60 bucks. turned it into $350 in 40 mins. Went back to Lux and slept at 5am.

    8/12 The STRIP

Today we casino crawled the strip. Every casino we entered (MGM, Flamingo,Belagio,Ceasers, O'sheas, Ballys, etc) i played $60 at a $10 bj table. I lost it 3 times and won at least a hundered on the rest. It was hot outside. We drank a lot. By the time we got to O'sheas, I was gone. I walked up to a War table with 5 buck and turned it into $80. The bachelor then challenged me to put it all on. I accepted the challenge. With $80 on the line i got dealt a 3. The dealer got dealt a 3. I had to go to war and double my bet in the hopes of winning $80. The dealer asked if i was sure i wanted to do this. I said, "Lady, I'm a gambler." I reached into my wallet and pulled another 80. I was then dealt a 10. The dealer was dealt a 9. I won. I would have never played this game sober. Because everyone was so low on money i suggested we have dinner at Ellis Island. I have never been before but I LOVE THIS PLACE. The steak was good but the beer was AMAZING. It came in a HUGE glass that was comped while gaming. It was still only 1.50 at the bar. I played Blackjack with no results. We played at a very small craps table. I liked it a lot. For once i wasnt rolling the dice of the table everytime. The dealer was very nice and helpful. He also made fun of the people who deserved it.
We stayed at Ellis Island for 4 hrs and met the remaining guys at ballys at 11:00 pm. At this point there were only four of us still functioning. The others were broke and at the Luxor spending their last night in their rooms. We took the monorail to the Sahara. I had no idea the $1 blackjack existed. Oh, it does at the Sahara. We got trashed playing $1. Lots of drinks. I won $100. My other friends played for 3 hrs with $10. We also played $1 roulette. Fun Stuff. I won about $80 off that.
In the taxi, on the way back to the Luxor we spotted a fairly large fire on the side of the road on the stip. Our driver called 911. Pretty crazy.
At the Luxor, Everyone went to bed. Except me. I spotted cris angel and Gary Coleman walking around. A buddy of mine took a leak with Carrot Top. I played $25 blackjack for a while and lost. I then played poker with the most international table i have been at. 2 guys were french, 1 guy was scottish, and another was Australian. The Scottish guy was convinced that I had shots with him the night before. I did not. He never believed me. 1 of the french guys was gone. he made no sense. he got thrown out b/c he would not speak english except to curse. I ended up going all in with a flush and losing to a full house on the last card. I went to be @ 10 am we left for the flight home at 11am. I was very hungover and tired on the way home.

    Final Thoughts

The trip was awesome. Glad i got o spend more time downtown. I love it there. Also, Really enjoyed Ellis Island.

I brought $800 to gamble, eat and drink with.
I brought $500 back to Texas with me.

I gambled more this trip than i Ever have before. It was nice.

    Thanks for reading.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun......too bad some of the guys had to spend the last night in the room. I laughed at you laying in the middle of Fremont St, you should have gotten a picture of that. Sounds like a fairly tame Bachelor Party so I bet the bride is happy about that:eek:

Yes.. evening vegas arriavals are awesome! I long for the day I see an empty seat on a plane. In all my arrivals and departures to Vegas, I've never seen an empty seat as Continental fills every seat.

    overall, great trip report.

But $20 for a taxi ride from the airport to Luxor? that's crazy high unless you tipped super big.
