    My Trip Report

I had a great trip to Vegas. There is no reason to have a bad vacation in Vegas.

Flight - We took a direct flight from Buffalo to Vegas on Southwest. I really like a direct flight. A layover in Atlanta makes for a long trip. The ride was fairly smooth. Using the directions from this board, we had good seats.
The flight home was OK. We had to wait for people from other connecting flights to get to Vegas.

Gambling - I took a real beating, but I kept on my daily budget. The best machine for our group was Happy Days. We played penny machines the most. We had some luck on Shrimpmania. We enjoyed playing at Planet Hollywood.

Hotel - We had all four nights at Bally's comped. We liked Bally's better than the Flamingo. We were never disturbed by any noise in the hallways late at night. Several times this was a problem at the Flamingo. The pool is not as impressive as The one at Flamingo, but we had no problem getting lounge chairs. Bally's has a live band playing next to the casino floor. They were very good. The room was clean. Check-in was very smooth at 7:00 pm.

Shows - We saw three shows. The best was Human Nature at the Imperial Palace. Human Nature consists of four white guys from Australia who sing Motown music. (Sounds crazy) The singing and dancing were tremendous. My brother and I see this group moving to a better venue than Imperial Palace.
We saw Jay White at the Riviera. This was our second time to see him. Using info from this great board, we saw this show for a $4 handling fee. The other show we saw was "The Phantom of the Opera". I liked this the least of the three shows.
Food - We had terrible service at the Sidewalk Cafe in Bally's. We had a fantastic breakfast at the Grand Lux at the Venetian. We went to Ellis Island for the $6.99 steak special. (very good) We has a breakfast buffet at Harrah's. The buffet was adequate, and the price was equal to a breakfast at other restaurants. (We were given a $5 coupon at check-in.)

Drink service - Very good (except for early in the morning 8:00 - 10:00 AM.

I wish a couple of things could have been better.
    (1) luck at the slots
    (2) working escalators between Bally's & Bill's
    (3) better pool weather on one day
    (4) Half-price tickets at Tix for Tonite - (never 1/2 the price)

    Best things about the trip
    (1) Human Nature at Imperial Palace
    (2) Time spent with my wife, brother, & sister-in-law
    (3) Seeing the Encore

    Jay White

We got the tickets for $4 by signing up for a player card at the Riviera.
They gave us a voucher at the player's club. We turned the voucher into the box office. We had to pay a $4 handling fee. This only works for people who are new to a player's card at the Riviera.

I noticed the escalators between Bill's and Bally's and Bally's and the Bellagio were down most of the time on my trip in May. Hope they up the maintenance because they are really necessary. Enjoyed the report and thanks for posting!

The escalator problem seems to be never ending. One of them seem to be inoperable all the time. When we see this we just use the elevator.
