    My Trip Report

New to this, so bear with me. I am tired, sleepy, tired and not wanting to see a drop of alcohol for a while.

    Day 1:
    Flight and Limo
We drove into Houston from Port Arthur and had a wonderful flight to Vegas. We were able to get our seats together and sat next to a woman on her 15th trip to Vegas. My friend was scared crapless as she'd never flown before. We shared a screwdriver before our 11:30 flight and we were feeling pretty good on the plane. We arrived in Las Vegas about 30 minutes early and were delighted to see our limo driver, Scott, from Presidential Limo waiting for us - sign in hand - at baggage claim. He was awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to use Presidential again. We got our roses and champage and he gave us a tour of the strip. By the second glass of champagne, my friend and I were pretty tipsy but it was awesome SEEING all the places I see everyone talking about here on the board. We made it to Venetian.

    Hotel
The Venetian was BEAUTIFUL but over the top. It was very nice but I doubt I stay there again. I wanted to make sure we had a very nice hotel but I wish I'd have stayed at a place that had a more party vibe. Check in was very, very fast and we made it to our suite on the 16th floor. I was drunk by check in but kept my composure. I lied and said my friend was getting married the next day and asked for an upgrade. I got one, no $20 trick needed.

The room was gorgeous. Living area, two wonderful queen beds and the bathroom was to die for. It really didn't take that long to get to our room at all. I hear about the lonnng walks from casino to room, but it really wasn't all that bad. That bitter orange smell was annoying, but I got used to it. We were there in the room for three or four minutes and the phone rang. Downstairs was making sure that we were in the room to receive our luggage.

We freshened up and walked downstairs and decided to walk the strip for a while. It was SOOO hot that we ended up just walkign to Wynn and eating at "Sugar and Ice". My friend had a Southwestern burger and I had Kobe beef sliders. Total cost was $30 with two 20 oz. cokes.

We walked around for a while and then got ready for the Vinnie Favorito show at Flamingo. I tell you what...if you have low self esteem - please visit Vegas. No matter what you wear or what you look like, men will whistle and hoot and make you feel like Halle Berry. We ate at a Mexican restaurant in our hotel Canal Shops area. It was verrry good. I had quesadillas and my friend had a salad. We were seated right on the water where the there are gondola rides.

Anyway, after eating, we went to the show and sat up front. Very funny! He picks on everyone in the audience. He pokes fun of every race, age group, whatever. He noted all the Blacks in the audience and for some reason didn't notice me. He ended up noticing me later and called me one of those "tricky Blacks", lol.

After that we went to Tao nightclub inside our hotel. We weren't impressed. It was a beautiful club. We were able to get in immediately for free. Some bouncer just pulled us from the line and let us in. We were expecting more from a Vegas club, I guess. It felt like a club from home only bigger and more packed. We got the the club at about 11:00 and drank, dance and finally when we were both super drunk, we decided to leave. We felt like we'd been there all night. We leave out and look at our watches..it's 12:30. lol We thought it MUST have been much later. We were sooo tired so we just went back to the room and went to sleep. We slept well. The remote drapes close so well that with them closed, you dont know if it's night or day. So we ended up sleeping in until 10 or so. We'd planned on getting up earlier.

    Day 2:
We ate breakfast in the food court at Shake n' Burger. Pretty good! We took this entire day to walk the strip. We walked from Venetian back towards New York, New York. We rode the roller coaster at NY,NY and had a BLAST. It was so much fun. We just walked most of the day, enjoying the sites. I really liked NY,NY as a hotel. I loved the arcade level and some other things there. I also liked Monte Carlo. These hotels were not as huge as Venetian and if I return to Vegas (and I plan to later this year) I will probably stay at one of them.

We TRIED to eat lunch at Diablo's in Monte Carlo but servie was horrible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to get our drinks and chips and salsa and then after 45 minutes of waiting for NACHOS (the table next to us got their fajitas before we heard a thing about our stupid nachos), we told another waiter what was going on. The manager apologized, comped our drinks/food but we were tired of waiting so we left. We ended up eating at Toby Keith's Bar and Grill at Harrah's. I did NOT enjoy my food, but my friend enjoyed her popcorn shrimp. The drinks were awesome. I had a drink called Mom's Homemade Apple Cobbler. It tasted like Christmas in a glass, lol. Cinnamon, apples..just really good and very strong.

Friday must have REALLY set off Memorial Day weekend in Vegas because it got PACKED. Thursday it took us a minute or two to get an elevator. Friday? OMG. It took us 45 minutes once. The Tao beach was the weekend hot spot and we heard it ALWAYS is.

We FINALLY got back to our room and just lounged around until it was time to see Dane Cook, a comedian who was at Palms just for the weekend. We were too scared to leave to go anywhere because of the horrendous waits!

When it was time to go to the show, we got dolled up and took a cab. I had been drinking in the meantime. I have no idea if the cab driver screwed us but it ended up costing me 12 to get to Palms. Whatever. We got there and had drinks at the Palms bar. LOVED THE PALMS. It had that party feel we wanted. We enjoyed the Dane Cook show. AWESOME. I was mad I paid so much for floor seats when the huge monitors were being used. I could have paid so much less to sit way in the back and watch the monitors! We left from there, stood in a ridiculously long line to get back to Venetian by cab. It was very long but it didn't take us long to get the cab. Another 12 to get back to the hotel. Fine. We were hungry so we went to our room, changed from our heels and put on some flip flops. We were in the mood for sushi so we walked to Treasure Island ot go to Social House.

WORST. SUSHI. EVER. It was horrible. lol The place was absolutely beautiful though. It was a very gorgeous restaurant. We paid $50 for California Rolls, Shrimp Tempura rolls and Spicy Tuna rolls and one drink. But it was awful. We ended up meeting some hilarious guys from Milwaukee who were seated next to us. They REALLY disliked their food. They ordered $80 steaks, shrimp and drinks and they shared it with us and it was just as horrible. We drank and laughed with them in the restaurant for a while and went downstairs with them to learn to play Blackjack. They ended up winning a couple of hundred. We were tired so we went back to our room and slept. It was about 1:00 by the time we got back to our room.

    Day 3:

We got up around 9 and ate breakfast in the hotel food court again. We also had drinks at Lime Ice (???) or something like that. It's a little bar in the food court. AWESOME drinks. I had some crazy mix with berries and vodka mixed with Pink lemonade. My friend had pina colada mixed with rum and some blue berry slush. While drinking, we shopped for souvenirs to take home to friends.

We met up with some guys we'd met on JackColton.com at Toby Keith's. We had a blast drinking with them and laughing about how we'd been to bed "early" every night in Vegas. They apparnetly had only gotten 3 hours sleep since landing in Vegas and they'd been there 3 days! We agreed that our last night would be our best. Our plans were to go to Sapphire, the strip club, and meet them there.

So, we spent that day lounging around our room and playing the slots in our hotel. I didn't win much..maybe $25 or so. I'm not a big gambler and that was not the point of going for us. We ate pizza at a food court pizza place and it was pretty good. We got dressed to go to Sapphire and the limo from the strip club picked us up at 9.

We had made reservations for the MEN show and it was $50 per person. We got there and the place was huge. We paid and were seated after a while. Our time waiting we spent checking out the girl strippers. It looked like fun just watching and drinking, but we'd already paid for our show.

I was majorly disappointed. Just wasn't what I thought. Cool show. Funny host. But the guys were EXTREMELY pushy. I had them come up to me and take me by the hand and say stuff like "Let's go get oily together" or "lets make some Asian and Black babies". I ended up being pulled on stage by the host to have a very hot Puerto Rican guy do his show on me. NIIICE. Enjoyed it. We drank A LOT and drinks were not cheap. We each had 3 mixed drinks, two shots and then I had a vodka and cranberry. The men just kept on, though. "Ready for a dance yet?". I'd say no. They wouldn't stop. "Why not? Come onnnn!" One of the main guys kept winking at me and rubbing on my shoulders. Finally, I got tired of being harassed and we left the men's area early to go meet our friends from the jackcolton.com board.

We sat with them and watched the girls. It was a blast. Best time we had in Vegas. Some of the girls were hot. We liked this one girl a lot and went up to the stage and put dollars in her g-string. Funny how they do more things with girls. One licked my chest and another girl gave my friend a kiss. Then the one we liked especially came and one of the guys we were with paid for my friend a lap dance from her. That was fun to watch..let me tell you. Only thing was the girl had an AWFUL boob job. Boobs didn't move at all. They were like boulders on her chest. When she tried to shake them in my friend's face, it was hilarious. But she was an awesome dancer. We gave dollars to the girls that were. We'd go up to the stage and put some dollars in their g-strings. Some were AWESOME. We vowed to learn some of their moves. When the guys wanted lap dances, we would pick the girls for them to get them from. We didn't disappoint with our choices.

They announced that George Clooney was there and it was PACKED. There were dancers everywhere. We enjoyed sitting with the group of guys and just talking about which girls were hot and laughing about which ones weren't. Some girls had no business being strippers. LOL

We walked outside with the guys and what do you know..the main stripper guy who kept winking at me was in his Benz waiting ot leave the parking lot. He asked if I wanted to ride with him. I said no. How weird.

We shared a limo with the guys and went to a karaoke bar but no one was there. So we took a limo with them back to their hotel but didn't feel comfortable. I know a lot of people go to hook up but it just didn't feel right. I didn't feel right even going up to their room - period. So we bid farewell to them at the front of the hotel and then took a cab to our hotel and passed out at about 4.

Last morning: We woke up at 8 and had breakfast in the food court again, got our stuff and headed out. Check out was wayyy longer than check in. But we got through it fine. Scott, the driver from Presidential was there early to get us. We got to the airport fine and our flight left on time.

HOWEVER, they announced that there was bad weather in Texas and we would be late by 20 minutes. Then an hour later they said it would be 20 more minutes. The entire flight was shaky. It was horrible. I'd never experienced anything like it and I've been flying at least four or five times a year since I was a small child. Then, they announced that we would have to detour to New Orleans because we needed fuel.

We started to panic. For some reason, I was scared crapless. We circled in New Orelans for a while. We were right above a swampy looking area. Someone got on the PA and told us that the "pilots are busy" but that any questions we had would be answered soon.

We finally landed at an airport in New Orleans to refuel but were told to stay seated. Everyone was upset. We were supposed to arrive in Houston at 4:24. It was now 5:30. Finally, after 30 minutes, we were told we would be heading to Houston. It was raining and my friend and I were both scared. The flight was fine to Houston, though, and we finally arrived at 7 p.m.

It took forever for our luggage to hit the baggage area but when it did, we headed straight out to a shuttle to take us to parking.

Overall: We had a great time. I would rather stay in another hotel next time and I will DEFINATELY go back to the strip club. We LOVED it. We will stick to just girls and I want to see a Cirque show next time.

I'm thinking of going at the end of October and staying at NY,NY. To me, it didn't really matter where you stayed on the strip. Unless there was something in particular you want to do - it didn't matter.

Three nights was fine for us as by that last morning, we were ready to get home. I had an awesome time but had enough by that last day. We drank all day when we were there. Woke up, had a drink, saw a place with drinks later and got one, then at lunch, had a drink. Dinner, had a few drinks and with whatever we did at night..had LOTS of drinks.

Big fun, though! And I am looking forward to going back...during the week though!

I look forward to seeing your pictures. You said you got an upgrade, but from the description of the room it doesn't sound like anything above the regular room (suite) at Venetian. Did you get a view?

    Thanks for the trip report.

As another vegas virgin going out in August i found your report very helpful. How much did that limo pickup at the airport cost? Was there anything that you think you should of avoided or wasted time on?

The room had a wonderful view and was a Bella Suite. Not that big of an upgrade, but it was about $150 more than what we would have paid for. Two beds instead of the one the regular suite has.

Rock28, Presidential limo has a lot of web specials for every type of limo you can imagine. We got the stretch even though it was just two of us. It was $113.WONDERFUL. They help set your trip off right with that champagne.

Also, stay anywhere on the strip unless you have specific plans for one certain area. BRING TENNIS SHOES. People say that and you think: oh whatever, I will bring these other cute shoes. No. In flip-flops we found ourselves WISHING we would have brought tennis shoes.

If you are going on a weekend, be prepared for lines. Also, be prepared for $3 or $4 for a fountain drink ANYWHERE. We didn't go to the regular fast food joints like McDonald's and BK because we have those where we live. But we did end up frequenting lower end places. If you want to save money on alcohol, go sit at a slot machine and just let the waitress bring you drinks before going out. Stop at a convenience store on the way to your hotel (if your driver has time) and get drinks, better yet. Otherwise, be prepared to pay $13 - $15 each for drinks that are under any other circumstances $7 or $8. We got two Midori & pineapple juices at Tao for $26.

Great job! Sounds like you had a great first trip. I hate TAO...it sucks giant balls. It's so crowded in there. I think for your next trip try XS or Tryst. Body English is mucho fun too...

Pictures were good, especially the one of your friend in her undies! LMAO!!!

I personally don't care for the food at Toby's either. THe club sandwich isn't bad, they also have pretty good salads, but I haven't been there to eat in ages...usually when I'm there I'm drunk :drunk: That place is my #1 place in Vegas...

Great job girl--thanks for sharing

Sounds like you had a great first trip. I typically concentrate on the gaming, so it is good to get a report from a person who likes all the other stuff.

I have found good sandals can be more comfortable then sneakers. I am on my feet for a living and learned to treat my feet well from my mother :) I wore my Merrell thongs for 7 days last visit. Tried the sneakers (good Asics) and my feet and legs hurt within a few hours. Taking my Merrells and Chacos this trip.

    great trip report

My first trip was 4 nights and I felt it was too short. I go for a week now. I don't drink so maybe I would feel different after 7 days of alcohol. I gamble a little, swim a little , eat a little and sightsee a lot :)
