Back after 9 days !

Just back from a 9 day journey to LV. Will post a lengthy TR (warning...it is lengthy) in several installments within the next few days. Pics also.

Highlights:

30+ hotels/casinos visited (including Gold Spike and Western)

Picture perfect weather

Nice accomodations and some good dining reports.

Lowlights:

Gambling bad. Slots tight, BJ tables mostly cold, VP not a friend.

Spotty drink service.

Economy taking it's toll. Heard many a tale of woe from locals.

Nice. Idly curious - what would be a good/easy way to document this? You know, if you wanted (something) from each casino... maybe so you could count up later without thinking about it at the time.

 

I can attest that Mr. HK made it to the Western because we hit up the $3 blackjack tables together.

Oh yeah, one of the snaggle toothed locals accused us of being queer together while trying to order a couple of Busch Lights...

 

Well Doc, I kept a spiral bound notepad in the room....and would jot down the days events (highlights and lowlights, matchplay losers or winners, ect...) whenever I would head up to the room taking a breather, bathroom break, or was reloading on booze. If one waits even 2 or 3 days to write this down....some of the details do get fuzzy.

Also, for coupon runs (I made 2), I would chart out a course that seemed to make the most sense, traffic wise, and put the coupons from the ACG in a small envelope beforehand, with each casino in the proper order. That makes for efficient and speedy coupon runs....so you can rattle off 5 or 6 casinos in separate locations in under 3 hours. Also started those coupon runs early in the morning....before most tourists are out and about. The lines at most Players Clubs booths are short at that time also.

Nine days in Vegas is an eternity! I'm not sure I could survive. I'm anxiously awaiting this TR, as well.
