    My Trip Report

Found some great deals online for air and hotel package so I has to go. Got my brother and a buddy to tag along as well.

3/4 - Worked a full day and then headed to the Tampa airport for a stay at the Mariott for a 5:20 am flight to vegas via charlotte. Pretty uneventful stay. Note to anyone staying in Tampa airport, Carabas has the slowest service in the world.

3/5 - Up early enough to catch plane and arrive in Vegas at 11:00 am. Pilot says 52 degrees and he was right. Got the bags and headed to rental car shuttle. Arriving at rental car place it was full of people so had a 35 minutes wait. Got a pontiac g6 for the trip. Nice car but found out after leaving the remote battery was dead. Arrived at the Luxor to see if we could check in early. From the line at the check in I would say yes. Decided I would try the $20 trick if I got the right person. Finally get to the front of the line and when I was called the little sign above her booth said manager so I quickly reached in my pocket and remove the $20. One of the guys with me is in the reserves so as I approached the counter I said hello and asked do you have any complimentary upgrades ...she went to say no...and I finished my statement with for military. She pressed some buttons and said a spa suite for $50 a night is the best she could do. I said no we did not want to spend anymore. She began to get the keys together and we were making small talk when I said oould you check to see if my reservation for sept. is in the computer. She looked, it was and then replied I will just get you that spa suite after all. Not sure if it was the Reservation or the small talk but it sure was nice to have a big room. Went to the room everyone showered and off to gamble we went. Mostly played slots with little luck had a few drink sand then headed over to the Rio for the seafood buffet. I ate there 2 other times and enjoyed it, this time was another story. It was ok but nothing to write home about and I don't think I will go there next time out. Headed back to the room for some rest from a long day of travel.

3-6 Woke up early to the beautiful mountains out the window. Went down to the pyramid cafe and had some breakfast. Service was slow but the meal was definetly good. Had a few hours to burn before golf so headed over to ny ny and gambled a little. Again no luck. Time for golf. Drove to Angel Park paid $105 for the round and rental clubs. got to the starter and it was a cluster _____. Everyone going nowhere. Finally got to first tee and played a nice course. Lots of elevation changes and great views of the range. We played the palms course which I was told was in better shape than the mntn course. Really enojoyed the round and finshed just before dark. When the sun went down it got cold!!! Headed over to Mandalay for the buffet and buy was it good. Great selection and quality as well. Back to the luxor and the boys decided to nap. I showered and headed down to mandalay to see what was happening on the casino floor. Stopped at a wizzard of oz machine and had some good luck. Put in a 20 and played for 3 hours cashing out with $100 and a great buzz. Went to the room and they were still asleep so I woke them up and gambling we went. Over to mgm for 3 hours and everyone walked out with a few bucks more than we came with.

3/7 Woke up around 11am with a hangover from hell. Quickly showered and got some food in me. The plan was to hit up the wynn. Signed up for players card, got $10 in free slot play and 100 points of of $40 bucks. The 2 other guys got there points and made money too. Spun the wheel and got $25 free play, other guys got $10 and my brother won 2 tickets to LE REVE. Great only one to buy, how much 149. Wow, any military discounts, yeap $70 and we are in luck. Headed over to venetian and dropped a $20 in 25 cent wheel of fortune, got the spin and hit 1000 credits on the wheel. Cashed out and headed to show. The show was very good and the theater was great. Was starving when we left and needed to go to the room so we said how bad could the luxor buffet be. It is terrible, I barely ate and hated what I did eat. Took a shower and headed on foot to Bellagio to see the water show. Watched a few and then came back for a few hours of gambling.
Did pretty well and then hit the plauyers club desk for comps. When we checked in the lady said when you eat or drink put it on your room and then see what can be comped. We did and found that we all had comps available. So 2 breakfasts and one lousy buffet, some starbucks and a few beers where all comped. Are we high rollers, hell no my brtoher lost $800 total for the trip and my other buddy only $400. I brought $800 to gamble with and came home with $600. Total amount comped $225. I think that is pretty good. Plus a upgrade to a suite. I may have to stay there in sept. Off to bed for an early flight home.

Luxor - buffet sucks, staff friendly, drink service slow, casino small, atmosphere was nice and location was great. I would suggest charging things to rooms as this was the first time I didd it and it went well. Very easy to visit multiple hotels from this location.

    Any questions ask away!!!!!

Nice score on the upgrade and I think it was because you had reservations for September that you got the free upgrade.
