    My Trip Report

Just so you know, I dot drink and gamble very little!

Flight To Happy Happy Land: Left on time, arrived on time!

Rental Car Facility: Short ride on the shuttle, 7 minutes in line, no intermediate vehicles, "Please take this Chrysler Pacifica", thank you and we're off! The Pacifica offers a nice ride, Serius Sat. Radio, but a little under powered for driving in Vegas. Everybody drives at one speed:fast!

    The Orleans
In the rooms within 10 minutes of arriving. I love this place! Of course they were holding CC School District Graduations the whole time we were there, great! Teenagers, their families, and few parking spots, gotta love valet parking! Rooms are clean and service is great! I really enjoy staying here!

    Food
Don Miguel's in the Orleans: promp service, pepsi products (ugh!), good chips and dips, food was ok, not great, but filled my belly!

Big Al's Oyster Bar: Big ol bowl of Jambalaya Pasta, piping hot and good! Not as good as home, but once again, filled my belly!

Peppermill for breakfast:Expensive for breakfast, but if you're hungry this is the place! This was only my second visit here, but it is a place I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Chicago Brewing Company inside Four Queens: It's official, franchise pizza (pizza hut, cici's, domino's, papa johns) ALL SUCK! Compared to CBC that is! I do not know if I will EVER eat any of that other stuff again and I absolutely love pizza! I am not saying you just have to go to CBC, but if you find yourself on Freemont, feeling like pizza, give it a try! I would not suggest eating there while falling off of the grain train(u know who u are), you would not truly appreciate great pizza!I normally am a man of few words, but I can't help myself! The pizza is gooooood! Filled my belly fo' sho!

Koji inside the Orleans- Decent shrimp fried rice!Filled my belly.

Stage Deli inside MGM- Chicken Salad Sandwich- left much to be desired- it partially filled my belly!

Ate at a couple other places, but nothing notable.

    Other:
Mirage Race/Sports Book- I really like this book!
kind of dark, not too smoky, and relatively quiet. Bet a few races, lost $50, went back to the Orleans.

Orleans Race/Sports Book- Too open to the casino, too loud, but good service from all staff! Ended the day up $10!

Binions $5 Black Jack (3-2)- Bought in for $100 and left with $250. The two other guys at the table knew basic strategy and that helped! I might have won more, but that's what happens when the folks you are with wanna leave. Several guys at the crap table all cashed out with over $1000 a piece, one guy rolled for just under an hour! That place was rocking for about an hour! That was fun!

    Golden Nugget- Nice Race/Sports Book!

Outlet Mall on the Strip at Warm Springs Road- I'm not much for shopping, but there were deals galore. I bought shirts, shoes, shorts, cologne, and a hat! I was surprised at how low the prices were. I will not gaurantee it will be like that for you, but it was good this day!

Airport- Returned rental car, shuttled to airport, checked in, through security, and at the gate within 45 minutes. Put a twenty in $.05 Lucky Larry's Lobster Mania cashed out $28. Put in another twenty and cashed out $75. Ended up giving the $28 back, oh well!

Flight Home- Left Vegas 20 minutes late, arrived home in Houston on time! Gotta love Cattle Call Airlines. $79 each way!

    Observations:
I always enjoy staying @ The Orleans!

Chicago Brewing Company- Best Pizza I've ever had!

Mirage- It was my first time in there and it is much nicer than expected. If I could afford it, I'd stay a few nights.

Downtown- I will definitely stay downtown next trip! I love the vibe on Freemont!

Kids/Traffic- Could be a real negative, but hey, it is what it is!

Gas- $4+ a gallon sucks! II don't care who/where you are!

Hurricane Mikey- I did not know his schedule so I missed! Nice casino!

Silverton- Really nice! Sportsbook too small!

Money- Took $1200 with me, came home with $800. I can live with that!

Don't know if or when there will be a next time, but just in case, I'm shooting for next summer!

    That. Is. All.

Nice trip report-short and to the point -covered all bases.

    Nice blackjack win.

Isn't it great when one person is rolling so long on a craps table(press please).

Once you go downtown it really grows on you imo.

I love the Mirage sportsbook, it is one of the few places on the strip that I have to go to each trip just to hang around. Best sportsbook if you ask me.

Nice TR. I also like Fremont street and will probably spend a night or 2 there on my next trip.

Good report. I'll have to try that pizza. I get the pizza at the 777 prewpub at Main Street Station often and it's very good. What kind of pizza did you get at the Chicago Brewing Co?

To the person asking where Mikey works, I think you should private him. I'd tell you but he once mentioned on the blog that he doesn't give that information out on purpose as to prevent the strangeness of strangers often coming up to him while he's working or something along those lines. Makes sense to me.

Glad you had a good time. Sounds like you got around quite a bit. That pizza sure sounds good now.

Thank you all for your responses!

Piech- I also suggest you private Mikey!

VP- Thin crust Pepperoni- I'm not a great fan of pepperoni, but I will eat theirs! I had a sandwich and my friend's daughter eats like a small bird so I ended up eating the rest of her pizza. I can usually eat a large Pizza Hut pizza by myself and I was ready to order a large pizza, but I had to get outta there before I ate way too much.

Souette- That $400 included shopping, eating, and the obligatory $5 a night Resort fee the Orleans charges.
