    My Trip Report

Granted this TR, as usual, deals with a lot more than Vegas I'm afraid, but for any curious, here is the link to the TR and pics-

We did Vegas, some of the Utah National Parks, Monument Valley, Death Valley, and then headed up to NY for a few days. A few highlights/lowlights of the Vegas part for those who don't feel like clicking, haha-

    * Tropicana service continues to go downhill-- we've been regulars, but we will probably stay elsewhere next time.
    * Thumbs up to their spa and Legends Steak and Seafood, though. Having the indoor portion of the pool was also nice.
    * Hooters was better than we expected; fun casino, and love all the TV's around to watch sports.
    * The Pyramid Cafe at Luxor was GREAT, best 24 hr. cafe we've tried so far.
    * Not good luck this trip, but our last morning we had some, including in the airport, of all places.

I like the idea of a big road trip with Vegas thrown in to spice things up! I've been in the Death Valley area but never toured through Utah. Sounds nice.

Thanks for the tip about the Pyramid cafe. I'll be there later this month and that sounds better than doing the buffet!

P.S. Did I read this right and you headed to New York after Death Valley? Hopefully in a plane!

    Thanks, all!!

Yep, flew from Vegas to Albany-- though with how the landing almost went, perhaps we should have driven, haha! ;)

I have some more about the cafe in the TR, but one thing I definitely suggest to anyone going is to try the fries-- they are really excellent! Some of the best I've ever had, definitely. I loved the fact that we were given a booth right at the edge and overlooking the casino... made for good people-watching!

We tend to do a lot of sidetrips on our Vegas vacations. Last time we even went up to Tahoe and Yosemite. There are so many beautiful places out there.

Edit: This is a terrible pic since it came off the cell phone, but here was our view at the cafe-

    Fabulous!

Stunning...absolutely stunning! Loved the link with all the photos.
Although I love VEGAS, the desert screams my name each time I visit and I do a road trip. Always with Death Valley included. Route #66 is a must and the National Parks are hit along the way.

Glad you had a good time. I've never been in the Tropicana but I should visit it. Each visit, I try to explore one or two hotels that I've never been in. Yep, Tropicana should head the list this time.

    Thanks again for the report.

    Thank you, Souette!! [IMG]

There are a few other TR's linked on that page-- for any curious, there are lots of other pics of places in the region we've visited on them.

Great report and pics. There was some thought that the Trop might suffer from some "issues" because the owners had their gambling license pulled in AC.

    Paka,
Your photos brought back so many memories. We've either hiked or camped at every place you went to.
I've always felt that Utah is the most underrated state in the country when it comes to natural beauty.
    Thanks for sharing.

Great report and pictures! Thanks for sharing. One question, what kind of camera were you using out there? The pictures are so clear and crisp!

    Thank you, all!! :)

Most of the photos were actually taken with a pretty cheap camera, actually-- the Kodak EasyShare C663. Nice lil' easy to use camera really; I'd recommend it for someone not looking to spend too much.
