    My Trip Report

    98% of the time, I can't use the mail/email offers I get...this
time I could. 4 days/3 nights on CAESARS.
Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon...two leftover vacation days from last year (I took
Fri and Mon OFF), stick a weekend in the middle, and I was there.

I haven't stayed at CAESARS in over 10 years...I didn't even know where the
registration was (I'm only in there for Shows)
I touched base w/ registration at 8am to let 'em know I was in, the gal said
I was blocked in for a Palace Tower room and to check back after lunch.
...get back later to find new folks behind the desk, no knowlage of a Palace
Tower room and not willing to do anything about the discrepancy. I wasn't in
the mood to mess with the IDIOTS...got a Forum Tower jacuzzi room, goofy
room lay out (too many face lifts), 2 lamps that didn't work, and NO VIEW...
...well, almost no view. From my window on the 17th floor, I looked out onto
a phony balcaony covered in dust and old scraps of plywood. From there,
you could see the back parking lot used by many of the 'PURE' patrons, and
beond that...the only thing in view...framed between the two dusty walls of
stucco were the Masquerade and Ipamima Towers of the RIO!...lol.
At night, I could hear them saying, "ya see, ya get what ya pay for!"...
(freecompmyass) lol, what a joke of a room.
I just slept there and commuted to my office at the RIO each morning. F'em.

Weather was beautiful for Easter weekend...a bit busier, but not bad.
The bogus Grand Prix car race downtown seemed to stay downtown, no
noticeable crowds on the Strip...all in all, it was pretty quiet.

I did The PRODUCERS, SPAMALOT (again...balcony this time) and WYNN's
COUNTRY CLUB after the Show (best 12oz. New York steak I've ever had), MAMMA MIA again (all the regular cast and a full showroom for Easter) SUCH
A GREAT SHOW (no matter how many times I've seen it!) and X BURLESQUE.
    *thoughts in Shows/Entertainment.

    RIO UPDATES:
Platimum Registration at the RIO is CLOSED. It's been consolidated in with
the Diamond Registration with other Harrah's properties to follow.
BAMBALEO's Mexican Restaurant...CLOSED. Rumor is a TONY ROMAS RIB place
    will go in there...
TILTED KILT TO CLOSE soon...McFADDINS IRISH PUB to replace it.
'PRINCE' extended thru April...? A Cancun club opperator, CONGO BONGO, will
take over soon after a temporary closure of the night club.
..........oh, and new carpet throughout the RIO.

    GOOD TRIP. I took a 3k bankroll down...played all I wanted/when I wanted and brought $2,400. home. NEXT TRIP June 24-28.

Greg, did you gamble any at all at Ceasers? Except for the Ceasers debacle it seems like you had a pretty good time.

Thanks for the Rio updates, Greg. Not surprised about Bambaleo's, bad service last time there. Your experience at Casears was unfortunate. Thanks for the write up.

This was my 2nd trip 'xizor'...but it doesn't count! (I'm still just searching
for one of Ken's in flight magazine articles)

My REAL trips are March, June, Sept, Dec....freebees don't count.
Caesars paid, and I didn't pay Caesar...(didn't play there) I used to...
but now that they (Harrahs) got rid of the decent VP pay scheduals,
I do my play at RIO....their VP sucks as much as Caesars does now
and I'd rather be around all my friends who work there. PALMS and
Gold Coast get my serious VP play. I do real well on the RIO's slots and
that keeps my Platinum rate alive.
I'll miss Bambaleos. Their Mexican was as good (or better) as Gardunos
at PALMS, never had any problem with service...they just were never
    well advertised downstairs.

    GREGRIO Does it Again!

Greg - as usual you give us just the facts. Thanks for the TR. I'm going to be in Vegas with a buddy May 15-17. He's never done a show in Vegas. I'm insisting he see one this trip. What would you suggest for his first show? The only thing I won't go to see with him is LOVE. I'm going to see that with my beautiful wife in June.

    later,GVJ

    For a Guys-Vegas-Show-Night-Out 'GVJ', I'd suggest
    SPAMALOT or KA`.
