    My Trip Report

This was our first trip out there in over 9 years, let me start off by saying that WE HAD A BLAST!!!!

We stayed at The Plaza in Downtown Vegas and IT WAS A DUMP!.....we didn't even gamble there. I was not impressed with anything downtown, except for the Freemont Street thing.

I think we visited about 60-70 casinos in all!

The strip was AWSOME!.....lots and lots of people everywhere. We ate at Toby Keiths, I Love This bar And Grille at Harahs the first day, and we did good on slots there. Then it was off to downtown to check in to the dump (The Plaza). We played downtown the rest of the evening, getting back to our room about midnight.

We were up and dressed by 8:00am on Saturday. Went to The STRAT for breakfast and then we were off to Jean and Primm for the day. Had a very good lunch/dinner at The Gold Strike in Jean. Then back to vegas for a visit to Circus-Circus and the Riv. Made it back downtown about 8:00pm and we were back at The Dump and in bed by 10:00pm.

Sunday we went to places like several Station Casinos and Sams Town. We visited The Rio Sunday evening and ended up back downtown and played at The Fitz till after 3:00am.

Monday was Strip Day. We played and ate breakfast at New York New York, played at The Luxor, Excaliber and Mandalay Bay. Since one slot card was good at all those casinos we ended up getting a free buffet at Mandalay, and it was AWSOME! We got back to The Dump and played Let It Ride till 1:00 am there.

Our flight left Vegas at 10:30 am on Tuesday, we were very tired and I slept the whole flight back to Indy.

Our package thru Southwest Vacations included a "mid-sized" rent a car from Dollar. When we got there to pick it up on Friday, they didn't have any "mid-sized" cars, so they up-graded us to a Lincoln Town Car for free!

Other than The Plaza being a DUMP, it was an AWSOME trip!

Ok, in the beginning you state that you did not gamble at The Plaza and then at the end of the trip report you say you played Let It Ride at the Plaza. I'm confused.

What was it about the Plaza you did not like?

I totally agree, the Plaza has seen better days... I was telling Nords, the old host I had there, how its tough for me to even set foot in the place..

As a long time Plaza customer, I agree also. It is my observation that the good things from the Plaza moved east to the El Cortez. Sooner or later the Plaza has to improve or else.
    Thanks for the trip report.

If you've been away from Vegas for that length of time the strip is probably the better place to stay (as you found out). But aside from your crappy stay at the Plaza you really seemed to enjoy yourself. Did you hate everything about the Plaza?

We may have played 100.00 or so there, but thats it....I don't really consider that GAMBLING.

Each night I did go to the bar by the keno area and play 5 cent keno machine and drink free bloddy mary's, but again thats not really gambling but the drinks were good!

We gave serious thought to moving hotels, but we decided that we were only sleeping in the room and we toughed it out.

It's just a run down hotel, they really need to redo it.
