    My Trip Report

Hello all. This is my first trip report ever, so here goes.

My wife and I left Amarillo Texas at 4:30 am on the 18th. We would have been in Vegas around 6 that evening, but we were slowed down around Flagstaff because of a wreck. We finally got to Las Vegas around 8pm. The construction at the Aladdin was not as bad as I thought it would be. We walked right into the lobby and had no problems checking in. Our room was on the 18th floor (1807) and had a nice view of the south end of the strip. The rooms had been updated a bit with new movie memorabilia in place of artwork. I do have pictures and will try to post them next week. Overall, we were very happy with our room.
We then went down to the casino. About half of it was blocked off, but there were still plenty of machines to choose from. We found a bank of the new Star Wars penny machines and bought in $20. We played for quite a while and cashed out over $50. Spent the rest of the night playing in the Aladdin and breaking even.

    Day 2

We got up around 9 am and I went to get tickets to the Fab Four show in the hotel. More about that later....We headed over to Ellis Island around 11 and had the steak special. It isn't on the menu, but for $4.95 you get a 10oz steak, salad, baked potato, and green beans. It was very good and I highly recommed it. Played a little in there and had no luck. We then walked over to Bally's and caught the shuttle to the Rio. I had never been over to the Rio and was very suprised. I really liked the place. I thought it had a good vibe to it. We watched the parade in the sky and the dancers and it was fun. While we were there, I found a really fun 2 penny slot called powerball. I eneded up winning about $70 on it, so I was up for the day. Then we took the shuttle over to Ceasar's. Spent a few hours walking thought the Forum shops. The FAO Scwarts in there is really cool. Watched the statue shows and by then it was dinner time. We went to Planet Hollywood in Ceasars. It was also very good. While we were in there, I was looking through some coupons I had and I had one for $50 in free slot play to Casino Royale. We headed over there after dinner. I found another bank of the Powerball machines and won $260 on those. I sure am glad we went over there. We went back to the Aladdin and my wife crashed while I played. Hit another $100 that night, so I had a good second day.

    Day 3

Had breakfast in the Aladdin buffet. It was very good. A little pricy though. Spent most of the day playing, but no luck. At 5 we went to see the Fab Four Beatles tribute. If you are a Beatles fan, I can't say enough good things about them. The were phenominal! After the show, my wife shopped in the Dessert Passage while I went up to NY/NY. I played the Family Fued slots and won about $50. But I had done so well on the Powerball slots I wanted to find them. NY/NY, MGM nor the Trop had any, so I headed back down the strip. Went into Paris, but half of thier machines were not working, so I went on down to the Barbary Coast. Found a bank of them there and won $175 on my second spin. I love the POWERBALL MACHINES!!! Anyway, spent the rest of the night just plying with no more wins.

    Day 4

Went to check on my comps before we checked out, and the hotel comped me $100 in free play, so we hit the WOF quarter machines. Ended up cashing out about $35 dollars, so we actually left Vegas with money. Overall it was a fun trip.

Good things: Powerball machines, Aladdin was nice with a friendly staff. The Fab Four was awesome. Good comps.

Bad things: Timeshare people:(, I don't like the Trop...it is still all coins. Paris was dead...hardly anyone in there. Not enough time to see everything.

    Overall a really fun trip...

Thanks for the writeup! I, too, am a fan of the $4.95 steak special at EI. It's even worth the asthma attack I usually get going in there!
