How young? I would think the Excal pool could be for the kids under 12. IMHO, the Luxor pool is more "adult" type, meaning there are a lot more adults there so it depends on what you mean by young adults. But then I have seen kids in the Luxor pool so it's not that the young kids wouldn't feel comfortable there.

I've stayed at Luxor many times in the summer and fall. The pool deck is pretty much a huge concrete slab and has lots of room for the throngs of young adults whom I would say are mid 20's. Plenty of room and the pools are quite nice. Didn't see too many families with kids in tow. Can't speak for Excal other than the pool and deck are way smaller.

For over 20's kids I would recommend the Luxor pool over the Excalibur pool. As I mentioned, the Luxor pool has more of an "adult" atmosphere (meaning lots of younger - 20 something girls and guys to ogle.......errr, to look at). Since the Excal hotel is themed for the families I would expect the pools to also have many of the under 15 types. Don't think your 20 something kids would want to go to a pool that have a lot of young kids and would rather be with the "adults" more.

We did the pools at both resorts...with younger kids though. We also did cabanas at each hotel.

Excalibur was a little kid's paradise. Luxor definitely had a more adult vibe and didn't seem as cramped. Cabanas were about equal, but I found the service to be more attentive at Excalibur.

Our family enjoyed both, but in your case, I agree with those recommending Luxor.

Agree with Luxor. There were very few young kids there. Mostly 21+.

Dont mean to hijack the thread but what are the costs for getting the comfortable loungers for the day or cabanas? particularly in the luxor.
