So, I'm thinking of changing "home" properties in Las Vegas from Caesars Palace to TBD.

Would that necessitate a change in hosts?

I'm also thinking of switching to Asian Marketing, which has no presence in CP.

I have no problems with my CP host, it's just that they're "pricing me out" of Caesars, and the amenities that I used to love don't carry as much weight as before.

    Opinions welcome . . .

    Your host works for who?
    Answer: Caesars.

So, if you go to Bellagio, you will need to change hosts.

You said TBD - that is the key missing info here.

Sorry, I will be staying in the CET world . . . for now. mLife and Cosmo have no attraction, and V/P is losig theirs.

DaiLun your CET host can book you at any of their properties. I was pretty sure that they do have Asian marketing as well.

Thanks for the post, but it is my understanding that CET Las Vegas Asian Marketing specifically does NOT have representation at a number of their casinos. I'll report more after the appreciation dinner on the 13th.

From what Hunter has said, a host can handle your bookings at any CET property.

Of course, if you end up switching more or less permanently, it might be preferable to have one based at whatever property is your new home, depends on what types of things you have them do and how often you want to actually see them.

I know you're not complaining about your host, but we see complaints kind of come in waves, and everybody (myself included) always says, you shouldn't get stuck with a lousy host (or even just one you don't want), make a stink until you get a new one, but we usually never hear the full process of how exactly someone got a switch done.

Yeah, from what I understand, (anecdotally) if another host books you two consecutive times, then you are "fair game".

I'm also 7 Stars with CET and even though I don't normally play at other CET casinos in Vegas except for Caesars Palace, I seem to have one assigned to me at each of the properties. So, you might want to decide which casino you plan to try and call and find out the name and number of your assigned host at that property.

I was also under the assumption (I know, don't assume) that the Asian marketing hosts were more for the out-of-country guests?

No, not true. Reno and Tahoe have had Asian Marketing departments for over 30 years (my father was part of their clientele), and 99% of their clientele are US based. Same with Las Vegas. Most of the clientele is US based.

OK, let me make it clear. I am not looking to change chains . . . I am 7* for 2017. Just looking to change home properties because Caesars comp room rates don't justify my needs . . . .

Just looking to see if changing hosts is appropriate. I will be down there next week and talk with my host . . .

I appreciate all of the comments. . .

No need to change hosts if you are planning on staying with CET. Have your current host book you wherever you'd like to stay. If CET thinks that a different host could better serve you based on your new habits, they will assign a different host to you. No action required on your part.

I don't think you need to change your host even if you change the property you want to stay at from now on.

That said.. even if you want to change your host.. GOOD LUCK..
I tried to change my host at Planet Hollywood and was told they would take care of it.
The Administrative Assistant for Casino Marketing was who I talked with and it who confirmed that the "Director of casino Marketing for Planet Hollywood" approved changing my host to a new one pulled the curtain over my eyes.
I had a "New host" contact me to set up my trip and take care of me. I was very happy as the new host was very responsive.. (I don't ask for anything I cant book myself, but like to have a host simply because it makes you feel a little more "Special"). So really the only criteria for my host is to be responsive to my e-mails.. (I expect a reply within 2 days unless there is a "out of office auto reply") and I expect you to be friendly and while I am obviously not your biggest client, don't make me feel like I am wasting your time when I have a question about simple things like "What is the difference between 2 rooms and what one would you recommend?" (My current host reply to that question was a link to the TR website followed by "the room descriptions are posted on the website let me know if you need anything else").. could he not have simply said something like.. One Is larger, one if newly remodeled, blah blah .. then put the link to allow me to see pictures.. rather then a link and a comment making me feel like I wasted him time because it is on the webpage

When I got to Las Vegas

The Host I asked to be removed from came to check on me while I was playing
I asked him where my current host was.. and he said he was still taking care of me and the name I gave him was one of the people who take care of booking hotels and things but has to get approval from him on giving things above the basics.
The host I am not compatible with continues to send me the generic e-mails. But when I e-mail him takes 4-5 days to reply (if at all) and constantly claims he never got my e-mail.
I have only been back Vegas once since then.. and did not step foot in a TR casino (almost a full year.. and before this year I was usually going 3 times a year and every penny I had for gambling was put in TR casinos)

Bottom Line.. Changing Hosts is not easy.. and even if you THINK you changed hosts.. its possible that the guy you had before is still the one making all the final calls on what you qualify for.

TR imo has a lot of the best perks for my play level but some of the worst hosts around. (there are some great ones as well)

Let us know how it goes after you speak with your host and what he has to say.. but I am pretty sure his speech will be something like "there is no need to switch hosts.. I can take care of you no matter what Total Rewards casino you want to stay at"

Sorry, don't know about each and every property. I had assumed it was all of them because CP has them.

I am a bit lower, and have had a few hosts over the years (turnover I guess?). In a dozen visits, I think I met the host once.

In any event, I always tell him/her which hotel I want and they set me up. Usually a suite, except at CP. If you have been invited to an appreciation dinner, you might be a bit higher on the ladder.

I too would wonder if Asian Marketing would deal with someone based in the states vs Intl.

I had a host at Caesars for awhile a few years ago but had a host at MGM also, so when MGM did their big dump of hosts a few years ago my MGM host ended up at Caesars. I just told my host at Caesars that I have been dealing with, that I wanted to have my old host from MGM as my host at Caesars and she said that wasn't a problem and have had him ever since.

Hi @DaiLun, I am an Level 2 Diamond w/ CET and has an Asian Marketing host at Paris. If he was actually better, I would recommend him, but he is not. My Atlantic City host is 10 times better. If you still want his info, please PM me.

In terms of property, my understand from CET is that it doesn't matter where the host is based, he/she can still take care of everything for you in Vegas. As mentioned, my host is in Paris, but I personally never stays at Paris, I usually stayed at Cromwell or Caesars Palace. I just had a 6 days trips, comp'ed room in CP + $600 free play. He backend comp'ed all my room charges for the 6 days (~$1000, I had friends at Vegas at the same time, we had a few buffets and steak dinners)

I'm Mlife and enjoy having a host where I stay. Just curious with the above. If your host is elsewhere, do you still tip?

@IM ALL IN, I generally do with my AC host, this guy in Vegas however is a different story, I would say I tip him once every few trips instead.
