Will be visiting Las Vegas in early Oct. Would like to know about the Village seafood buffet at Rio...Is it worth the price? Is there a discount for Total Rewards members? Any reviews appreciated.

I posted a detailed review in one of my TRs.

I couldn't find it because it's not the Village Seafood Buffet. The Village Seafood buffet was closed about a year ago and made into an upgrade option for the Carnival World buffet.

It's now the "Carnival World & Seafood Buffet

KJ Dim Sum & Seafood was dead and is open till 2am and seafood buffet till 10pm. Could have just been one of those nights. I don't know as I never go to the Rio. I just remember walking by those as we came in and they were so dead.

Gotta agree with Tim on this one. Place is always jammed with a long wait. And with good reason, it's one of the Better Buffet's in Vegas.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of a different place ? The Penn and Teller theater is at the opposite end of the RIO and you wouldn't be walking by the Carnival Buffet to get there.

Shuttle let's you off my those places. Walked into the door, walked a little and buffet on my left and the other on my right. Hey, just telling ya what I saw which means nothing more then that. I only remember because I don't go to Rio and thought man, these places are not busy at all. BTW, first time I've heard about it being best buffet in Vegas. A hidden gem?

I didn't say "Best Buffet" or "Hidden Gem", I said "One of the Better Buffets in Vegas". IMO the best is Bacchanal. The Carnival World Buffet however is quite good and if you are looking for variety both in terms of entree's and desserts you'll be hard pressed to find one.

Remember also if you are diamond there is a special dining room at the Rio. The separate diamond entrance is closed and you enter in a special line at the main entrance.

The hidden gem was mine, never said you said it. You did say it's one of the Better Buffet's in Vegas. I'm glad it is.

That large area across from the buffet seems to be something different each time I've been in there! Nothing seems to stick. (Dream Cafe of the Rio?) :)
