    My Trip Report

So only 1 more day and then we leave for Vegas. Hubby D and I are staying at the Plaza. We rented a car from Alamo for low 200's. We have coupons from ACG and 2 LVA books so I,guess we will do quite a few buffets. Lots of match plays and free plays to do also. Will be playing lots of limit poker. Celebrate birthday (69) on 9/29.
Only 1 sad note on this trip. I,found my kindergarten teacher was living in Vegas so in 2010 I visited her each Sept. In an independent living facility a block from the Red Rock Casino. I kept trying to call her to say we were coming. Found out Wed she passed away 9/5 at the age of 95 . Her mind was wonderful until this year. Glad,we had these years together. I decided in kindergarten I wanted to be a teacher like Mrs. Thompspn.RIP.
Will write a trip report either live or when I get home. can't wait to go!

    Hi, caroleehs!
Have a super birthday trip! Maybe you can get in a round of bingo, too?! :woohoo: O-69!

Sorry to hear about Mrs. Thompson. You are a living tribute to how great she was! I believe there's a special place in the great beyond for most of those Kindergarten educators!
Safe and happy travels to you and the hubs!
I look forward to your report, whenever it may be!

Flew from nj to Vegas on United at 11:30 am we paid extra for the extra leg room seats. Had window and aisle seats with no one in the middle! Comfy. Oh we went to the presidents club at the airport. We get 2passes a year with our mileage plus charge card. First time in the big club room. It is huge. Lots of goodies to eat.
We got a car from Alamo for 210 for the week. Only problem was there was an accident on 15 so it took a long time to go downtown. Checked in and room was decent except for tiny bathroom
Played a little poker and then ate at golden Nugget buffet with coupon in LVA book. $22 for 2. Walked out on Freemont St and there was a girl topless with hearts painted on her nipples! Anything goes. Early night cause we are exhausted. Even for the day gambling, hubby up $22. Good night.

Forgot to mention an upsetting event- got to our room about 9:30. We left our room at about 3:30 after being assure a frig would be sent to the room. Well it was but they never closed the door tight and we got in the room without a room key being inserted. Luckily nothing was missing but it could have been a real bad outcome. Scared! We reported it and will stop at the desk in the morning.

Got up early and ate at MSS with an LVA 2/1 buffet coupon. Only cost 8 and change and was good. The bacon was excellent. Went and played poker at the Golden Nugget and got terrible cards! Hubby is holding his own. Took a break and went to the pool. It is beautiful there. Comfortable chairs, warm water, great hot tub. Came back to the room and got ready to go out, but the d--- door wouldn't lock. Called downstairs and was told they would change our room. No upgrade. Now we had to pack everything up and move to another floor. We had to wait for a bellhop for 1/2 hr. I spoke to a manager at the front desk and lit into him. I had to ask for something from the Plaza and he gave us a $50 comp to hash house. I don't really food comps - have a bunch of coupons and comps from poker. Think I will go see him and ask to have the $50 taken off the room charges. Not a happy camper after unpacking twice in 2 days. Ate at Magnolia's (2/1) prime rib meal is great. Cost $16. More poker more losses but a 30 win at a machine.

We'd was exhausting. We did a coupon (Acg and LVA) and hit Orleans, Westgate, Gold Coast, palms,Ellis Island, hooters. Only came out about $80 or90 ahead, but it was fun. Westgate is the former LV Hilton and is beautiful, had a rib dinner at Ellis and it was delish.( Acg bogo cost 11 plus tax. Back to goen nugget for poker and hubby got a royal flush .$391 Thank you very much.
Today was my birthday and wore a shirt that said It's My Birthday and sunglasses that had balloons and said happy birthday. Got lots of greetings from people. Golden Nugget gave me a birthday present of a straight flush at poker for a $361 bonus. Ate breakfast early at Magnolias 2/1 for my birthday. Got to meet Gary who is a host at the Plaza and posts on VMB. What a nice guy. Also spoke to Heather, a front desk manager and changed the food comp they were giving us to 2free nights. That was for our first room' lock being broken and not working. Everyone has been great at the Plaza. Had pizza ( Acg 1/2 price) at the Plaza's pop up pizza $9. It was great, but we only ate half and gave the leftovers to the casino hosts. Then went to 4queens to see Mike Hammer (bogo Acg) . He is a magician and comedian and was terrific. He also had me stand and face the audience to show my getup, and included me in a trick he did. Great day!

Well at least it sounds like plaza took care of it after squeaking the wheel a bit.

And $391 royal? Was that a nickel progressive or a late night typo? ;)

The GN runs "high hand " bonuses for quads, straight flushes and royals. They can get high if no one hits for a while

Sat. We used a comp at theClaim Jumper in Golden Nugget. Very good. Proceeded to poker room to play and I could do no wrong. Left my chips ( up $120) while we went back to the Plaza to finish packing. I went to the front desk to check out and was pleasantly surprised to find charges and resort fees removed because of the incident with a broken lock in my room the first day. Kudos to the staff for theirleasant, efficient way of dealing with a problem. Gary and Ashley are great hosts. Good luck on your upcoming marriage, Gary. Ari and especially Hearher are terrific front desk managers.
When I went back to poker the guy next to me didn't like the cards I was playing and winning with. I told him I would worry about my chips and play and he should mind his own business. He left about an hour later and we were on friendly terms. He lost his chips and I won $140. First time we went home from Vegas with a profit. Had lots of fun!
