    My Trip Report

Just got back late last night from 6 fun filled days and nights at Wynncore. We stayed at Encore but other than the room, you're really at both resorts. Have I said before how much I love Vegas and Wynn?

We have a lot of tunnels here in VA and we left in plenty of time for the airport but the tunnel we have to go thru was backed up and we ended up in the parking garage 45 minutes before our 1pm Sat flight left. I was thinking, "this is not getting off on the right foot" but then we rush down to check our bags and there is no one as in zero people in line. The SW guy is awesome and rushes the whole process and has us on our way in minutes. We get to the TSA line and there is 1 person in front of us....we arrive at our gate just as the "A" ticket holders are lining up. Things are looking up!

We always do a RT w/ Presidential and they were awesome as always. Our guy asked if we needed to stop at a liquor store or the Vegas sign or any other requests. We said we need a bottle so he stopped at a nice spot down by the HR. Easy in and out and on our way to the hotel! Here's the dead soldier yesterday morning:drunk: IMG_0088.JPG

We arrived at Encore at just the perfect Vegas time of day....dusk...just as the fun was beginning. Our host always puts us on a high floor w/ a strip and pool view. We got things put away and I decided after a full day of travel from VA, that a shower and shave was in order to refresh myself. Made me feel like a new person and had no problem staying up until midnight that first night to get on Vegas time. First stop was our favorite spot the Lobby Bar for a few drinks and a bite to eat. IMG_0069.JPG

Great spot to people watch and wind down from the travel and get in the Vegas mood:beer:

We head out to see what's new in the Encore land. First thing I notice (that I had already read about on the board) is all the red chandeliers are gone. I asked someone on floor and they said there was an "incident" and they all came down. I asked my host and she said they were sent to Macau. Hmmm....I wonder what kind of incident there could have been....anybody know? I miss them....I've grown to love all the red in there. Anyway, we decide to play some VP. I usually play a lot of $1 BP and DDB and my wife plays pretty much $.50 VP and some $1 BP. I have to say, I've gotten tired of getting smacked :bang:by DDB the last few trips and ended up playing very little DDB and a lot of $2 BP. So anyway....back to our story....We start playing and about 20 minutes in, my bride says those 3 glorious words...."I hit it":woohoo: IMG_0066.JPG
Nice way to start the trip:wiggle: Just as a teaser, I'll say that we brought $6500 to play with and the 3 wrapped packs of $2K were never opened the whole trip.:stir:

We don't eat big meals at home or in Vegas so our fairly normal eating pattern is coffee drinks from the Lobby Bar in the morning and gambling. Head to the pool for a few hours and get an early lunch there. Evenings are spent stopping for drinks and small plates numerous times throughout the evening at Allegro, LaCave, SW Veranda and of course.....the Lobby Bar. Basically: Gamble, drink, snack, repeat:beer:

We had tickets to see Donny and Marie for Tues but my bride made some friends at the pool and the two ladies ended up cleaning out the champagne stock at the Encore Euro pool bar and she was not feeling the best that evening. She felt horrible about messing that up and I said..."it's Vegas....shit happens and it's only $200...we can piss through that in 10 minutes sometimes. I asked a few people in the casino if they wanted the tickets (for free) but didn't find any takers so they will go in the Vegas scrapbook (actually they went in the garbage can)...:poke: She napped in the late afternoon and called me on my phone about 6 and said..."are you ok, the bed doesn't even look like you slept in it??" I said, "what time is it?" She says..."5". Ummmm.....I let her know it's 6PM (same day) and not 6AM:drunk: That's Vegas...:poke: The good news for her was it was still Tues and not Wed morning. Pretty quiet evening for her and I got to find out for a night what a solo trip in Vegas feels like. I was fine but it was certainly not the same w/o my partner in crime.

The rest of the trip we hung pretty even as far as gambling. We'd go up and down and had some decent hits. One night late I ran up a $2 BP game to $1500 w/ a $200 buy-in by just getting 4OAK's and various other hands. We always play some buzzed :drunk:WOF and yell and scream like young girls when we get a spin....walked away w/ $800 one night, $400 another and blanked on our $200 buy-in ($100 each). My theory is if you get SPINS, it's not hard to walk away up on these games but the problem is they can be so fun that if you don't set a cash-out limit, once you're up it's easy to plug it all back in.

So the first 5 days were pretty much a blur of all that over and over again...just the way we like it:wiggle: I have to say that I saw very little of the EBC kiddies this trip. I think they must have implemented some sort of a No wet swim suit policy in the casino (although I saw no signs) because that crowd seemed ushered right to the front door and cab line when exiting the club. I'm sure I'd have loved the EBC when I was in my 20's but it's not my thing anymore and neither are drunk people screaming and swearing and :vomit:so this apparent change was just fine with me:thumbsup:

So.....the last night my bride is insistent that we play the progressive 25 cent VP bank at Wynn because it's getting pretty lofty. Normally I don't play quarters anymore because with the only big hit you can really get (even 4OAK is only $31.25) is the RF. I mean I guess 4 Aces is $100 but still....I'm an older guy and I need more of a drug fix than that:evillaugh:. So I decide to play DDB at this bank and of course I hit the 4 Aces w/ a kicker. I mean that was fun but for all you VP freaks like me....the first thing you think of when you're normally a $1 or $2 player is....$2K or $4k:poke:. But we push ahead and at about $2,150.....BAM!! IMG_0085.JPG
The evening was on and we knew it was going to get a little drunk out....after all, it was the last night:beer:....right?

So I get paid and we take off walking thru Wynn. I ask my bride what she wants to do since I've had my "fix" and she says "I want to win too!".:poker: I mean, who doesn't'.....so I say "there's a $1 VP Progressive over by the Sports Bet, let's go give that a shot and since I just won, why don't you play dollars?" So we go sit down, plug our money ($200 each) in and start playing. Our daughter who calls quite a bit these days just to chat because our SIL is deployed right now, calls my wife to see how our trip is going. She starts telling her all about Dad just hitting for $2K and they're chatting away and...........BAM!! IMG_0086.JPG I was so shocked and was sure the last card up was the Ace of diamonds so I had to look twice and then I saw the ROYAL FLUSH written out above the hand. Absolutely an incredible rush and probably never happen again in my life....a quarter progressive RF at 8:20 and then a $1 progressive RF at 8:38!

We spent the rest of the night laughing, drinking and finished up on the outside deck at LaCave w/ a great bottle of red, salads, one of their flat breads (basically a funny shaped pizza) and some of their chocolate mousse cake that along with the red wine is damn near orgasmic:kiss:

So.....another fabulous Vegas trip in the books and I'm sure Steve will have his revenge in the future but for now the money is ours and Mr. Wynn has once again provided a spectacular resort experience and made Vegas memories that I'll be thinking about for a (hopefully:poke:) long time

Hey! I'm pretty sure one of those Royals was supposed to be mine. So thanks for taking it, Dean-o. :haha:

Sounds like a great trip in the books. Thanks for sharing your VP porn with us.

Thanks gang. BTW, I'll just say that IMO Vegas is on fire again. We were there on what I'd consider a time that should have bee a fairly slow week right between labor day weekend and the I Heart weekend and the casinos and streets were packed like it was back in the 2000-2007 era.

Nice report! I had a similar experience before regarding show tickets. I had received 4 comp tickets to Blue man Group. At the last minute the family members who were going to use the tickets flaked. No-one would accept free tickets!

I'm happy for you and jealous and mad that it never happens to me like that at the same time. ;) I mean seriously who hits 3 single line royals on the same trip and 2 of them 18 minutes apart? Awesome for you man.

Thanks gang, hitting those two back to back was a huge gambling rush....probably never happen again so I savored the moment. And to be fair, my bride hit the spade RF:kiss: so I "only" hit two...:poke:

Thanks Carve but speaking of horseshoes, I'm thinking you've put a hurt on the Wynn bottom line a few times :evillaugh:
