Maybe this thread could get a sticky. I'm primarily interested in the in-room coffee, after that people could post about their favorite coffee go-to like Dunkin or Mickey D's or even buying a coffee pot at Walgreens. First question: does El Cortez still have k cup brewers in the room?

Yep, the ElCo has Keurigs - we bring our own k-cups. Best coffee downtown is at the Beat coffeehouse at Fremont and 6th, but I'm pretty sure they're closing this month. Gonna miss the excellent espresso and friendly folks that work there...

Plaza had K cups, or whatever they're called when I was there. . The Plaza also has a coffee place that has above average espresso. When The D had me out, I couldn't find their coffee place, and I'm not sure they have one. Golden Nugget has a Starbucks.

I thought there was one more independent coffee place outside of the one mentioned above.

I can't speak to the other casinos, becuase although I've gambled at many of them, I've stayed at very few places downtown.

The room that I had in the tower had a coffeemaker but it wasn't a keurig, it took the little flat coffee packets, this was 2 years ago so it may have changed and I've stayed in the cabana suites and they have the keurig coffeemakers over there. 4 Queens do not have coffee makers

When you stay at the Downtown Grand (which I recommend) you can get large cups of good, free coffee at the adjoining Commissary.

we bring our own pot. Need fix before leaving room in morning and no one wants to see me in my skivvies. Plus even if they had one I would not trust the cleanliness.

Golden Nugget actually has not one, but two Starbucks. One right on Fremont, and one back by the Carson Tower Elevators.

Four Queens used to have coffee pots in the room, would be surprised if they dropped them. Maybe someone can confirm.

Rush Tower rooms at the Smug Nugget have K-cup machines. $10 for 4 unless you are on the Club rooms on the top floors, in which case they are gratis, along with water, fruit, and some snacks. Also on the club floors, they put out an urn in the morning by the elevators where the snacks are.

Not sure if it is a Grecian urn though.

Oops - during my last trip I mistook that urn for a spittoon.......

My wife says the coffee at the Fremont casino is the best coffee downtown. You get the coffee from the casino while you are playing.

Unless it's a recent change, 4 Queens does have coffee makers in the room. My pics are from two trips in January and February. You can just see the top of the coffee pot in the Jan. pic behind the water bottle .

These 2 pics were taken in "renovated" rooms but I recall having coffee pots in the regular rooms as well. It could be they aren't replacing them as they break though.

Or you can do what I do when I stay at MSS.

Wake up, get cleaned up and dressed, mix up a Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Formula Orange Zest, follow up with a shot of J&B Scotch (about two fingers does it for me)... then immediately go to Boars Head Bar and get a cup of their dish-water tasting coffee.

Hmmmm... now that I think about it... maybe it's the Alka-Seltzer and Scotch that makes the coffee taste like that... I always thought it was because they used Canadian Coffee or something?

I will add that DTG uses that complimentary coffee as an excuse not to put coffee makers in their rooms and it is only available during a few early morning hours. If you stay in the west tower (the one away from the registration desk) the elevator goes directly to the Commissary on the first floor.

kmorr... you're joking, right? ...or perhaps your wife was... the 'comped' coffee at the Fremont table-games may be the worst I've ever had in Vegas... I actually make it point now to hit the Dunkin' before I go to the blackjack tables there (when playing in the pre-alcohol morning hours (6a-10a).

Note: Not a slam on Fremont... none of the casinos ever seem to have very good coffee in the casino, although I do remember getting a half-decent cup of coffee at a Golden Gate table one morning.

Not downtown but the Silverton serves Seattle's Best at the tables. It was Starbucks but then downgraded although not a downgrade in my opinion. Only place where I get a decent coffee.

Yep, I stand corrected as far as the coffeemaker in 4 queens ;) That is the same kind they have in the tower rooms at El Cortez.

I think the coffee was available 6:00-10:00 AM. That's when most people drink coffee anyway. I'd rather pick up a cup of theirs and be on my way. Don't need to have it in the room.

    You must be young.
We oldsters need our coffee to get 'everything' going (on schedule) in the mornings... before showering & getting dressed!
