I see both the D and the Golden Gate have $20 resort fees (shame on you Stevens brothers).

Anyone know if they charge the resort fee on comped rooms?

    Thanks in advance.

    I believe NO
(that is someone who stayed at The D.)
Also, if comped at The Plaza...no resort fee.

I can verify that the D does not charge a resort fee on comped rooms. Not sure about Plaza.

not sure but if it is anything like Golden Nugget it depends on how much they think they can get from you gambling. my friend and i just stayed there - both comped but he was charged a resort fee while i was not. i have spent more money there - well actually more time than money.

Resort fees have no business downtown. It's a sin that crap like that is allowed to infest downtown.

I've stayed at both The D and Golden Gate on comps and can confirm that resort fees are waived on comped rooms.

I booked GG yesterday on a three night comp. Instead of staying in the tiny single bed rooms, I asked for an upgrade to the larger, 2 bed room. It was $15 per night. I asked if there would be a resort fee included and she said no, the room was still comped and therefore no resort fee. The upgrade was not comped at this time but they could review it later.

Uhhh... two bedroom or two bed room... there is a difference! Unless you get one of the new suites all the rooms are SMALL... but clean and comfortable as long as long as you are not claustrophobic. Come to think of it, I did not know they had a 2 bedroom suite?

I stayed 4 nights in a room with two queen beds. The room was much bigger than I expected. Still not big. First and only time staying at GG. It was simple and worked out good. 4th floor, away from FSE. Quoted the $15 extra per day, only paid $16 total when checking out.

Good enough to sleep a few hours. Suites looked good enough to get my wife to stay in.

Good info. Just booked the 3-nite comp (no resort fee) today and was debating whether to go single or do $15 up charge (per nite) for double. Sounds like its worth extra money. Maybe I'll offer $20 trick instead.
