    My Trip Report

Not quite 'live' as I'll try to summarise each day soon after/next day ....

Left YVR this morning on WJ, arriving at Orleans about 2 pm after baggage wait, car rental wait, and traffic. Fairly smooth flight despite strong winds at LAS. Grabbed a Camry (called 'full size' ... werent' they 'compact' just a few years ago?) from Budget, using Air Miles and paying $56 in taxes. At least the golf travel bag fit in the trunk.

As I posted elsewhere, an 8th or 9th floor room near the elevators (basically in the 30s to 50s) is by far the fastest way to/from the casino. First order of business was the ubiquitous hot dog and beer, along with some VP.

Not sure how the pic would populate so I've started again. After losing at Orleans, headed D/T. Parking at MSS was free (surprisingly, even with an attendant). Wandered Fremont St, dropping Jacksons here and there. No wins to speak of, mostly minor losses. Beers welcome while playing.

Ended up back at MSS for the 777 Happy Hour. Drinks and two appies about $25 ... a good deal. Then off to the Main Bar for some VP and beer. Hung in there for quite awhile on a Jackson, then finally hit a 4OAK (9s on BP for 125 quarters). All 4 OAKs garner a Scratch Card (make sure you leave it on the screen for the attendant to see). Prizes range from $2 (95% of them) to $5k (1 in a thousand?). Of course, I got the $2.

Stopped in at the GC en route to Orleans. Some play on MultiStrike, but ultimately no wins.

    More tomorrow.

Quad 9s on BP reminded me of Dickens, "It was the best of quads, it was the worst of quads..." Following along on this. What are the "appies" you had at MSS Happy Hour? I suspect not apples. Good luck and hope you hit dealt quad aces with a kicker on TDB in one of those multiline games, with a high multiplier.

Exactly what I do upon arrival – hotdog and beer at the sportsbook side at the Mardi Gras Bar.

Yes, the hotdog/beer pic is the west side of the Mardi Gras bar ... ;).

Appies at MSS were quesadillas (3) - basically, a meal unto itself - and two, Angus beef sliders.

I tried to post a pic of the pool from the room, but no go (at least for now).

Today is "Young at Heart". Point multipliers, free stuff (depending on how much you play), and cash drawings at 4:30.

S is off shopping. I'm walking to Palms/GC, then to Strip.

Yes, no wind and great temp. Walked from to MC (currently enjoying a MyVegas beer) via Caesars/Linq/Cosmo/Aria. Donated minor amounts to most casinos ...[emoji20]

Back at Orleans after walking 6 miles (here to Harrahs', return via 'Park' between MC and NYNY). More on that later.

Wed has a 50+ drawing at 4:30 to we both played on return (S after a successful shopping expedition). I hung in there enough to earn my 100 pts for a free dinner buffet. S played for quite awhile (we were both playing quarter VP at Masquerade Bar) and eventually turned $20 into $60+ (which she then used on various penny reels to no avail).

Anyway, we didn't win one of the 21 cash prizes ... alas.

Didn't come ahead doing 'hit and run' at Strip casinos, but always interesting to try. For those who know "Row 802" at Aria, it was full so I couldn't get in.

It was nice to have a final beer at MC Pub ... it closes in 3 weeks. They're selling off all their special bottles (ones you can't get anywhere else) if you're they're before they close. For 5k MyVegas pts, a 22 oz Stella was a super deal.

I'll post a couple of pics of The Park (between MC and NYNY) separately (they're on my phone). It's nothing like the area towards the High Roller, but then the north side (MC) is still under construction.

Currently enjoying a nice Pinot Gris in the room before dinner and then some more VP. Maybe I'll have more luck (only hit today was a Wild Royal playing deuces).

    GG
