Have never been a Plaza guy due to the general sense of uncleanliness I've always sensed in the past but stopped by in June my last day in town and ended up staying four hours watching two soccer games in the bodacious sportsbook...left impressed with the new vibe and will be staying here in the near future

Oscar's HH is the best I've seen downtown.

4 - 7, 1/2 price beer, wine, and cocktails ( except martinis ) a terrific apps menu ( The Mob Meatballs are awesome ), and Thursday ladies drink free.

I wish the Plaza can somehow address the "street people" problem that occurs once in a while, especially in the early mornings. Apparently security either looks the other way or is unaware that they come in and sleep/loiter at the slot machines and Sports book. I'm sure most of them are harmless and probably cold or maybe they feel unsafe outside.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything but most will agree that this situation will not help things as the Plaza continues to upgrade and attract more customers.

It doesn't help that the Plaza is also next to a commuter train station.

Yes my "uncleanliness" remark in above post was referring to the homeless being physically inside the casino and it's why I went years and many trips before stepping back in last june

The article felt a bit like sponsored content. I keep trying to like the plaza and stop in when I walk from MSS to the GG. Unfortunately it seems they keep making changes and not always for the better. I wish they would have spent the money on staying in the FSE group, the view from the restaurant used to be epic.

+1. Yep, an epic and pretty much irrevocable bungle. I like gambling at the Plaza but letting that stage and Slotzilla terminal go up was a colossal blunder.

In the past two years that I have been staying at the Plaza I have not been troubled by,
nor seen a lot of, street people either in the food court or the Casino.
People keep bringing that up and I wonder if it isn't memories from several years past.

I have just booked to Stay at the Plaza for my trip in Oct/Nov. I have never stayed here before and have ventured in a few times during previous trips. Prices have been a bit crazy for my dates. I looked at Plaza and they seemed to be decent so I thought I would give it a go.

They can be pretty bold, I was asked for change right in front of the desk during check out last October. Lady behind the desk just shrugged.

That desk person should have called security right at that moment. Sometimes at the Cal there are people going around asking for money from the slot players. These kinds of experiences will only bring negative vibes to casinos trying to re-vitalize their business.

Part of the problem is that the Plaza is located near the bus station so you can't really tell which people are the homeless and which ones are just hanging out waiting for their bus out of Vegas. It used to be real bad and the crowd at the tables and machines were a lot of transient types but it isn't as bad as before after the makeover.
