    My Trip Report

Going to do this in a few parts. Just got back home to Boston after my longest trip to Vegas.

    Day 1 - Wednesday 8/10

After several crazy months of planning a wedding from the east coast, the time finally came! This is our 8th trip to Vegas, but this time we have 40 of our friends and family flying out to watch us get married at Mandalay Bay! My fiancé flew out to Utah with her parents 5 days ago to visit family before she drove to Vegas.

I Flew out of Boston at 7am nonstop on JetBlue with my fiancés (at the time) 16 year old nephew. Landed around 9am and surrprised him at the airport by getting picked up by an Escalade ESV courtesy of Presidential Limo. Driver took us to a liquor store where I got a 20 pack of Coors Lights (didn't stock up heavy because I was changing hotels). Dropped off at the Flamingo where her family and friends were staying. Since it would be around noon time back home I decided to crack a few beers. My room wasn't ready yet so I dropped my bags off at my fiancé and her friends room.

Walked over to the Cosmo to go eat lunch at Holstein's. Impressed by their selection of craft beer on draft, and everyone loved their burgers. Got a round of beers to-go and walked back to Flamingo. As was the theme the whole time, DAMN it is hot. My room was ready so I got checked in, grabbed my stuff from the other room and got settled. Since I have been up technically since 3am, I took a nice nap and woke up around 7pm.

From these forums I remember reading about the TAG bar at LINQ having good craft beer so me, my fiancé and her friend decided to walk over there. My fiancé also has a fear of midgets so I made sure to walk in through Osheas hoping the midget was there... He wasn't. We get seats at the bar and order beers. Bartender says "as long as you put in $20 beers will be comped". I like to get beer I can't get back home so I got a 16oz can of PizzaPort Kook Double IPA, fiancé got a PizzaPort Swami IPA and her friend (doesn't like beer) a Redds Apple Ale. I played video poker while they played BJ. Ended up getting three rounds off the initial $20 and I was feeling pretty good because my beers were 9% abv. We wandered outside and then they went back in to go to the bathroom - I ran into the Hot Doggery thinking I could eat a quick hotdog before they came out. They caught me and we all ended up eating dogs.

My fiancés sister, her husband and two little girls, her friend Jill and friends boyfriend Dennis ..all were on the same Spirit air flight (got delayed - I'm sure everyone knows to avoid spirit). They got to the hotel and we met them in the check In line with 24oz beers for everyone! They all got settled and we wandered over to a restaurant called "off the strip" so they could eat something. Now it is 3am and all the girls went to bed. That leaves me and Dennis to go gamble. I quickly lose $150, he lost $60 at a roulette table. He decides to go sit in the poker room while I go to pass out. He stayed there until 7am!

    Day 2 - Thursday 8/11

Woke up early on Thursday because we had to do a few wedding related errands. Through our package, Mandalay Bay sent us a stretch limo to take us to the courthouse to get our marriage license. We filled out the form online so we were in and out in about 5 minutes. Had the driver bring us to Mandalay Bay to drop off the documents, met a wedding coordinator to go over some final details and she gave us our bottle of champagne and two champagne glasses. Took a taxi back to the Flamingo.

Flamingo Rant: We last stayed here for Electric Daisy Carnival in 2014. Hotel was centrally located and cheap. It wasn't the best but it wasn't too crappy, so it was the place we recommended people to stay. The place has definitely gone down hill, some of the elevators have a mind of their own and go up and down stopping at floors for nobody. Literally spent 15 minutes on one. My room was on the complete opposite side of where my fiancé/friends room and her parents room. I had to walk literally 20 minutes to get there. Shower head / sink were gross and moldy. End Flamingo Rant

So, I was very excited to go check into our first time at the Cosmopolitan and clearly had to get the Wraparound Terrace Suite to surprise the fiancé!!! Told her I had a surprise to go take care of and left them all at the Flamingo pool for a few hours. Get over to the Cosmo and check in ... 58th floor and like 6 doors from the elevator. Walked into the room and wooooo baby this isn't the Flamingo!!!! Had an insane strip view and couldn't wait to see it at night!

Thankfully my parents wanted to go big for their first time in Vegas so I directed them to get a terrace studio. They showed up around 2pm. 3 other friends showed up (also staying at Cosmo). I had to get back to the Flamingo pool so I walked back to enjoy some pool time over there. Spent a few hours there and then went back over to Cosmo stopping at Walgreens to get some beers. My friends and parents bumped into each other downstairs and we all met in my room which their jaws dropped upon walking in. We all drank some beers and then the fourth friend staying at Cosmo finally arrived after a 13 hour flight from China! I haven't seen him in 6 months because he took a job in China. Me and 3/5 of the groomsmen took a taxi to a Men's Warehouse to pick up our tuxes.

Fast forward a little - the plan for tonight was to do our own things bachelor/bachelorette parties. Meanwhile more and more people were arriving (cousins, friends, family). I had all the guys who were there already meet in my room to pregame. We were going to Todd English Pub (we like good beer) but for some reason they close at. 9:30-10? I thought this was vegas! The host their recommended we go to Five50 pizza because they have good food and beer. Had some delicious pizza and wings. Got a few beers including a flight of local beer! So a bunch of the girls who were going to go out with my fiancé were starting to bail for various reasons (sick, tired, etc). I could tell she was kind of upset and at this point I just want everyone to have a good time and the guys agreed. I tell everyone who wasn't with us to all meet in my suite. The fiancé hasn't seen it yet either. Fast forward a little and we have a raucous party going of like 20 people in the wraparound!!! Then the fiancé calls up the Rhino and we all jump into a party bus for the strip club! Stay there for a while while her cousins just kept putting ones in front of me. A few guys fell in love and disappeared to the back while the rest of us went back to the suite. Forget what happened the rest of the night but it was great.

Told everyone to make sure to wake up early because we had a pool couch booked for Marquee Dayclub!!!!

    To be continued ....

    Day 3 - Friday 8/12

So today is the pool party at Marquee Dayclub. The fiancé gets up super early to go get all her stuff from the Flamingo. After seeing the wraparound the plan to stay separate until Saturday night goes out the window. I roll out of bed super hungover and can't resist the $8-9 red poweraid in the mini bar. In a haze I am picking up cigarette butts and empty beer cans in my boxers from the terrace when all of the sudden the other door slides open... It is housekeeping. "Uhhhh yeah can you come back later????"

We were told by the host to be at Marquee by 10:45. People start arriving to my room around 10am and we start to pregame with some beers. We got a poolside couch for 8 people but with a generous tip we were allowed 12 people to be walked in. We all take the elevator down to Marquee, meet the host and are whisked onto an elevator to get to the pool. We are walked out to our poolside couch. The dayclub is pretty much empty and I am wondering if we could have waited until 11-11:30. We might not have got the location so I don't care. I order up two ciroc vodkas @ 525 a piece, a bunch of red bulls and some waters. The bottle girl pours everyone drinks and we settle into the pool.

We had 3 more people joining us but I told everyone else to buy tickets.. Didn't want to push my luck with the minimum/group size since I was paying for all of it. They show up and the party is started. Vodka started to deplete quickly, so I was wondering if I needed to get a third bottle. People were hungry so I ordered a bunch of food for the table and paid cash. I only got to eat three fries and that was it... The rest of the spread was devoured quickly.

Vodka eventually ran out so I topped off my minimum with a $375 case of 16oz bud lights and we closed the tab. Sorry guys, after this you are on your own.

Party was going smooth until a couple swam over to our table and grabbed a beer from our bucket. I saw a girl in our group bitch them out so I notified security and didn't see them again :nono:

Headline DJ came on and splashing and craziness ensued. Everyone had a great time and that is a win in my book.

Left the club around 4. My parents had made reservations for Lago at the Bellagio for 8. Took a quick nap and got ready. Ended up with the best table in the place overlooking the fountains. For my parents first time out here, they found a great spot. Food was A+ and we walked out stuffed. Me and my dad decided to stay in the Cosmo casino and try our luck. Put down $200 and after about 2-3 hours of up and down decided to cash out around $175. Oh yeah, forgot to mention I won $300 on roulette at PH at 4am from the night before.

To be continued ... Up next ... The Wedding Day :wiggle:

    I would hope at least 24. That's a bit over $15 a beer. Ack!

And Pizza Port to start off with at TAG, you definitely know what's up! Can't wait to have those again next month for "free"!

    Great start so far!

    Day 4 - Saturday 8/13 - Wedding Day

Woke up early at about 7am. The fiancé had to go back to Flamingo to get her hair and makeup done and get ready with the bridesmaids. I said, "make sure you bring everything you need! Double check!" And she is off to the Flamingo. Not an hour later I get the text to bring her all the things she forgot.

I hang out for a little and then gather the items and begin a hot journey up the strip. It's the usual vegas walk.. 2 for 1 drinks? Nightclubs? Pool parties? Time shares? Hookers? Money for weed and White Castle? Pictures with Hello Kitty? Escalators temporarily turned into stairs... Etc. I drop off the stuff and she hands me a box of table tents of where everyone is sitting at the reception which is at the Grand Lux cafe (palazzo) which she forgot to drop off. My journey in 110 degrees continues. I walk out into the LINQ and obviously I'm feeling a little nervous/excited just weird in general. It's 9am, it's Vegas, it's my wedding day.... I need a drink NOW. I walked up to the Tilted Kilt and they were open for breakfast so I decided to pop in for a few bloody marys. Too bad the bartenders aren't big titty girls but just men in kilts.

I finish up a few of those and continue the journey to Palazzo. Drop of the tents and my mission is complete. I walk all the way back to the Cosmo... Stopping at Walgreens to buy a few bottles of champagne to drink with the guys while we get ready. The guys come over at 12:30 and we put our suits on and we are lookin pretty snazzy. Wedding ceremony is at 3 but we have to all get there by 2:15 to gather in the lobby. We booked the package at the Valley of the Falls which is one of the entrances to Mandalay Bay with all sorts of waterfalls and nice looking stuff. My best man calls the front desk to make sure there is a limo to drive us over and we head down with beers to go.

Wedding coordinators met us and all the guests downstairs at beach level while the bridal party arrived upstairs. Fast forward through the ceremony .. Which was hot as fuck but quick .. We all took pictures with the photographer from the package. He was awesome and all the pictures came out great!

The bridal party got a stretch escalade for two hours from presidential to get there, so we got our parents and others to take that over to Palazzo. We had bigger plans for the wedding party! We booked the 14 passenger Hummer from presidential! Driver met us at the valet as well as a second photographer we booked for the reception. They had two bottles of champagne waiting on ice for us!

We took the limo to the Vegas sign for pics and then to Bellagio for pictures by the fountains. Finished up the pictures by 5:15 so we had 45 minutes to kill. Into the bellagio to get everyone a 24oz beer!!! Driver takes us on a little ride around town before we roll up to the Pallazo. So the best part is our photographer has worked with our DJ before (she referred us to him) so they worked well together moving everything along timing everything out perfectly. We tell her to tell him to wait about 20 minutes for the guests to settle and get drinks before the intros. We make a plan to meet back in front of the Grand Lux at 6:20. We make a b-line for the casino bar and get our drank on!!!

So we had booked the private room at the Grand Lux based on a recommendation from this forum in the wedding reception. A few places we tried before were too high priced .. Wanted a 5$ per slice "cake cutting fee" etc. the guy we worked with was fantastic. Everyone raved about how good the food and service was here and the room looked very elegant. We got a big cake from Freeds (also a vmb suggestion).

Everything went awesome and it was over at 9. My friend gives us a bag to open and it is two Smirnoff ices.. We got iced!!!! For anyone who doesn't know what this is, you immediately have to get on one knee and chug the whole thing.

Afterwards we were all supposed to go to Omnia but due to the open bar only like 3 of 16 of us made it... Not including me and the new wife! For what it's worth they said it was unreal! I am a beer guy so I had shipped a box of beers out for me .. hill farmstead, heady topper and treehouse (if anyone knows what those are). A few people came up to the suite and we partied drank some good beers before I kicked them out to get down to business.

Didn't know you were into craft beer enough to know those, Tim. I doubt I'll be trying those anytime soon. :(

Curious to know how many beers shipped and how much to ship?

We sent out about ten different beers.. Not sure how much because the wife shipped them to her cousins in Utah along with a bunch of other goodies. We made custom sunglasses for everyone, put together welcome bags with an itinerary, our fav things to do, etc.. With a hangover kit and flip flops for the ladies.
