What happens in a night club and should we go?

Well I'm 41 and my wife is 40.
We've never been in a night club in Vegas before. I see some long lines in front of them in hotel.
I have many many questions about them

Is it worth to wait?
Is it expensive?
Can we charge it to our room and then maybe Mlife waives the bill?
Are we too old for this?
Same questions for pool clubs also.

Once we waited in front of the Liquid pool day club in Aria for 15 minutes or so. I showed my Mlife Gold Card to bodyguard and asked if it helps to get in quick, he said "No, everyone has this card" I think he didn't like us. So we gave up and went to the regular pool.

Too old go "clubbing" and still too young to go bed at 1 am...
We been there and done it.
So here's what we have done and experienced it....
First, I believe you have to pick right club..... I thought Hyde at bellagio was good fit.
If you staying at hotel that has night club then YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT NOR PAY AT THE DOOR, I HAVE DONE THIS NUMBER OF TIMES, so call hotel concierge ask them to put you and wife name on the list then when it's right time for you guys GOTO front of club like "you belong" (seriously) then tell them you are on the list (they will check) you do not have to pay for anything not even a tip (again, I have done this number of times) and it worked every time.
Or call your host of you have access to one.
Of course you would have to dress impress (SERIOUSLY) if you not sure GOTO Hugo boss or georio Armani store tell them you are going clubbing then they will help you dress up for it.
So, in summary - call hotel concierge (make sure you are a guest) - dress to impress(especially men) - walk upto very front of club (there will b several lines) tell them you are on the list - go have a blast times. Oh yeah I forgot do not buy drinks inside club it's very expensive .... Just enjoy music and dancing

 

The difficult thing about answering these questions is that they depend on what type of person you are. I'll try to be as descriptive as possible, but in general you just want to go in with a ton of energy and ready to bask in others' energy.

Is it worth to wait?
--I personally hate waiting, but depending on the wait time, yes. The clubs are typically packed full of people, and you'll be constantly bumping into strangers and getting drinks spilled on your shoes. The energy in these places is insane: the music is obscenely loud, and people near the DJ/stage are going nuts. To have a less boisterous experience, I'd recommend getting a table (splitting it with others going at the same time as you is much more economical).

Is it expensive?
--You can expect to pay $30+/per person on an off-night (free if you get on the guest list; just talk to any of the promoters on the strip). Drinks are about $15 per, and you're looking at a few hundred per person to get a lower-teir table w/ bottle service. So yes, it's expensive (for my bankroll, anyways), but definitely worth it if you're into the scene.

--I don't believe so. I could be wrong on this as I've never tried.

Are we too old for this?
--People of all ages go to clubs. 95%+ of the people there will be under 35, so as long as you don't mind being somewhat of a minority you should be fine.


There's four more things I'd like to say:
1) You will be on your feet the whole night. Unless you get a table, there are extremely limited options on where you can sit, so be sure you're aware of this going in.
2) As you'd imagine, everyone is drunk. I've gone to nightclubs sober before, and the whole time I was there I contemplated leaving, and did NOT have a good time. If you're into drinking, make sure you get the drinks flowing before you arrive. Maybe I'm using it as a crutch, but I'm telling you--it was not a good time.
3) People watching doesn't get better than this. Watch people like me try to approach women in nightclubs. It can be downright hilarious, sad, or thrilling watching the chase. I don't tend to people-watch much as I'm generally buzzing around drinking and trying to talk to new people, but the few times I have were definitely enjoyable. Also keep an eye out for the group of girls with one rouge member who falls in love with someone her friends hate... it's also an amazing scene to watch unfold.
4) Dance dance dance dance

 

Oh yeah I forgot you can charge it to room ONLY IF YOU HAVE BOTTLE SERVICE and yes Mlife /host can waive the bill if you are right player....

I personally have charged bottle service to my room and host (I believe it was) waived the bill for me...my express comps stayed same. You can call the club directly towards to late afternoon and just ask if you can pay for it w express comps or room charge it. They may be different from club to club.

 

Well I found out I'm going back to Vegas about 1 week lol... We sure gonna try to hit up a night club one night maybe Hyde or 1OAK...

 

Be careful though before you try this....ask Drew what level he plays per hand, at baccarat I believe?

I get solid comps, but I'm definitely not at bottle service level like Drew is, most arent. (Then again, I've also never hit a club once in Vegas, but comps are always based on spend, and bottle service is pricey.)

If you room charge it, just be OK with paying full price, versus getting a big bill you didn't expect. (Or bring Drew!) .

 

Hey as I recall (it's been few years back) it was around $1600.00 it wasn't crazy amount; my friends left cash tip...
But I'm pretty sure you can pay it with xpress comps as well... BUT DO CALL CLUB FIRST, MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM if they take it. Iwouldn't want anyone get stuck with pricey bottle service bill either...

 

My wife and I are 42. We used to love Vegas nightclubs. Been married for 13 years. In our single years, we were pretty into the club scene in Vegas and Southern California. As a couple, we've gone with groups of friends and have had a great time.
We went to Marquee (nightclub on Friday and DayClub on Saturday) last year. We had bottle service at both and were with a group of 40-somethings.
It was fun, but not as fun as it used to be. Maybe it's because of the way we value our money and our time. They are expensive and crowded. Something we enjoyed years ago. Now, if we have a weekend without our children, it's not our favorite way to spend it.
But - if you've never done it, you should try it. Vegas is one of the few places that all ages can fit in at a club.

 

Good info Drew, and my quip was mainly nicely teasing you, as I know you're a higher player than I am.

BUT I do always caution people never to never basing a budget around possible comps, chasing comps, etc. For regulars, we know this, but if someone is new to Vegas and reading about all the comps on VMB, I could see someone easily getting caught up in the excitement and over playing. (I never know if someone is newer to Vegas.)

I've had things comped when I didn't expect squat, and other times not gotten them when the play seemed to guarantee them.

I DO think it was great feedback, telling him/her about being able to charge bottle service to the room....mainly I just wanted to give you a friendly tease about being more of a High Roller than I am!

Maybe check out one of the less popular clubs. At the top clubs like Hakkasan or Omnia a small table starts at around $1500 table-spend (in one of the smaller rooms eg. playing hip hop, not where the headliner spins) to $5000 for the smallest table at the main stage. The cheapest bottle of alcohol starts around $450. And they are absolutely packed inside and not a pleasant experience without a table. You need to get through a throng or 20-year-olds to get the bartender's attention to order a drink. Plus the line to get into Hakkakan or Omnia without a table is often 1-3 hours long (you can see it start from way outside Caesars Palace every Fri/Sat night, then become a twisting line inside like what you see at Disneyland).

 

That said, Omnia IS indeed pretty spectacular. It better be since it took over $100M to build. Those giant rings fall and rise to the music.
