Going to see Rod Stewart tonight at Caesars with the gf and her parents. They want to do Italian beforehand. Something more casual and quicker than Rao's, maybe with family style dining.

I've seen several Italian restaurants in the Forum Shops mentioned; Spago, Trevi, Carmines. Has anyone eaten at one or more of these places and can recommend one over the others?

Carmine's has family style and it very good. Make sure the lasagna is on your table...great....Rick
Also Rod Stewart puts on a great show, saw him last Sunday but ate at Rao's both places are really good choices

The lasagna at Carmines feeds 2 to 4 people. That plus the garlic bread and you're all set.

Carmine's is excellent but it really only works for a party of four or more.

Trevi is a personal fave, but if you're in a hurry it may not be the best.

Il Mulino is very good also, they will ask you if you have a show and get you out quickly if you do.

We loved Carmines, food and service were excellent. Heard good reviews about Trevi, it's on our list for next month.

Thanks for the replies....we ended up doing Carmines, I really enjoyed it. We started with caesar salad and garlic bread with cheese, then did the linguine ragu, which came with meatballs, Italian sausage, and some stuffed pork, forget what it was called. There were four of us and we didn't finish any single dish.

Everything was good, though I would switch out the linguine ragu (her dad picked that) for the penne vodka with a side of meatballs. Maybe add a veal or chicken dish too, if there were at least six of us. I'll definitely go back though...

Nice "Casino" call out. I think of that scene, too, whenever I hear the restaurant's name.
