I don't like having strangers in my room, so I usually have housekeeping come every third day. First day room has just been cleaned, second day I fix my bed and get towels if I need them, and third day I take down my do not disturb sign so they can vacuum. My do not disturb sign is always on the door, and when I leave the room, I leave the tv on with volume low. Anybody else do these kind of things? I also leave my curtains open at night, so I can see the sunrise, but only when I'm solo.

Yep. I seldom use housekeeping service unless I am staying in the room over 4 nights. Just don't want anyone in my room. I can make my own damn bed and reuse my towels, just like I do at home. We almost always leave the TV on when not in the room. But, at night you can be assured there is a clothes pin holding the drapes closed so I can get my beauty sleep.

Love it. Can't imagine going on vacation and not having housekeeping.

The rare times we sleep in really late, we leave the DND on the door and later flag down housekeeping for fresh towels/etc and skip the housekeeping for that day.
But I love coming back to a freshly made up room - it spells "vacation" :woohoo:
And hubby leaves the bedroom tv on all the time - low volume - even when I tiptoe in in the middle of the night and he is snoring away, that tv is on, lol.

I like my housekeeping too. I lock anything of value, if I'm not carrying it (such as a laptop) in my suitcase. As far as the T.V. I sleep with it on....

Yes, the DND sign remains on the door from the time we arrive until we leave which is usually 3 nights.

We rarely use housekeeping. We always have DND on the door.

We get up, and straighten or make the bed.
We always hang up our towels.

If we eat in the room, we clean up after ourselves.

Who wants to be in a room with towels on the floor, or dirty dishes hanging around?

    Not us.

DND the whole time. Only stay in rooms 2 or 3 nights, but my wife is really paranoid about strangers coming into our room.
If I'm solo, I still use the DND. Few times I've forgot, and am awakened by knocks on the door, and then someone waking me saying ... "Housekeeping."

If I'm solo, I'll leave the DND sign on and leave the TV on. I'll grab towels, shampoo, etc., from the staff when I see a cart in the hall. I tend to be very seldom in the room except for sleeping, changing, getting ready, etc., so it won't really require a clean-up until I'm out of there.

I like housekeeping every day. I've never had a
bad experience with any of the housekeepers as long
as I have been going. I just love a fresh room when I
come back from a long day's play. I put anything valuable I
bring into the safe or locked in the suitcase. Leave a tip
out every day and I'm good to go.

Our normal stay is 4 nights. DND the entire time. I'll catch housekeeping in the hall for extra towels and coffee. We don't need anything else.

We don't stay in one hotel for over 3 nights, and we keep the DND on the door.
I can reuse a towel and make my own bed. Plus I make a complete mess of my room with clothes everywhere... Wouldn't want anyone to witness that ;)
(of course I clean up before I leave)

DND the whole time. I don't need it and don't want anything rearranged. I line the wastebaskets with plastic supermarket bags and bring kitchen size trash bags, so there's just one bag to remove at the end.

If I need something, I catch them in the hall and tip a couple of bucks. And leave $5 at the end.

For the places like Caesars that stick some sort of notice that they came by, I remove it so they know I'm not dead. And I'm glad they all seem to have stopped phoning the room when you leave the DND sign up.

There was a time I'd leave the DND sign on the door 24/7, but not that last few years. I keep a REALLY clean room (I even hang-up my towel on the last day), but I found I enjoy the feeling of coming back to a totally fresh room. Like I'm the first person there... every night!

On the other hand, when we did not do the DND (our norm), and came back to a room that had not yet been cleaned... it sucks!

I really could do without housekeeping but my Vegas travel companion (my mom) really likes coming back to a fresh room everyday. So, we usually have the room cleaned all the days we are there.

I use housekeeping as I'm usually 7+ days, I also lock anything valuable in the safe and I always leave a tip for when they clean. Some places I have stayed I have been left sweets or a little thank you note from the cleaner.
