Will Golden Nugget allow an ice chest to be taken into the room?

I recently found a section in the FAQ that says:

Can I bring food and drinks to my room?
The Golden Nugget does not allow permit outside food and beverages in guest rooms and suites

I know we will want cold water, and Hubby wants his ice-cold Rock Star first thing in the morning. I also like to have half-and-half for my coffee (will bring my own Kcups). Just wondering if we bring a small ice chest, if they will say anything. Anyone know? We will be in a Gold Tower Deluxe room.

I have a soft side cooler that folds up. Stick it in your luggage and no one is the wiser.

Not that I take it to Vegas with me.

Its easier to ask forgiveness rather than for permission. Don't ask anyone, and certainly don't tell anyone. If you are found out, just say you didn't know. And at any rate, what is the difference in the soda you buy at the abc store and the one at the gift shop? Nothing, they just want your money to stay in house. GN has full service room service and bottle service, so it isn't an issue with them being afraid of stains or anything. I would say go for it.

Yep. soft-side cooler is the way to go. In fact, we've used it as our carry-on, full of the spouses clothes. When we arrive we hang up the clothes and throw the little stuff in the drawer and use the cooler for it's intended purpose. I always bring trash bags for liners as it tends to sweat. Usually the last night we allow it to dry out to put the dirty clothes back in it.

Does that mean they won't allow you to bring any food into their casino/hotel? That seems unreasonable. I don't know any other hotel which does that. Regardless since the cooler is not food, you can claim it's for drinks you get at their hotel gift shop. And they must have ice buckets in their rooms, so they must believe you're going to bring in drinks to the room so I don't know why an ice chest would be any different.

While I haven't tried it myself, we've stayed at the Nugget at least a dozen times, last time being in December. I've seen hard sided coolers going and coming at check in/check out and on the elevators frequently. Never heard anyone say they had any problem.

Years ago, the Riviera had you initial a note at check-in that said you agree to not use those order-in pizza delivery services. I thought it was surely to discourage competition for their overpriced (is there EVER a hotel room service that is not overpriced!) room service.

Realistically, however, I see very few ways a hotel can enforce this. Maybe with the hotels that have a guard at the elevators overnight. I would think that security would have enough to do without policing somebody sneaking food up to their room!

I have been in the valet area many times and see people loading coolers into their cars. Don't think it will be a problem

I've stayed at the Nugget several times during the Series. My
friend always has a big suite there and we have carted up
loads of food, drinks, etc. in coolers, cases, and anything
else we could carry stuff in. They have never said anything
about any of it at check-in. I don't think you will have a problem
    with it.

The only hotel I know of that enforces that is Hard Rock, but almost all Vegas hotels have that notation. It's for two reasons, so large parties need to use the hotel's catering and when people get rowdy in their rooms, they can kick them out and confiscate their booze.

We took a styrofoam one with food and drinks in to the Elara and no one said anything. I cannot imagine it would be a problem.

If you look close enough, almost every hotel that serves food and drink, and many others have rules like this.

In reality, people bring in food, drink, booze all the time.

    Not an issue.

And another common fallacy about hotels - just because they say checkin is at 3 or 4pm does not mean you can not check in much earlier in the day.

In the past year I noticed that PH now charges an early check-in fee if you try to check-in prior to 3:00PM. For Diamond members and above early check-in fees are waived.

I had forgotten that. I remember several years ago when that show Rehab was on, my friend
was staying at the Hard Rock and tried to bring a cooler in and they made him take it back
to his car. He and his buddies had come in to go to Rehab and try and be on when they
were taping. When we met up later on the Strip for some gambling they were all bitching
about how the Hard Rock guys were so strict about everything going up to the rooms. I didn't know
they still did that. That was awhile ago for sure.

A few weeks ago I stayed in a Days Inn (not LV) and at check-in they had you initial a note about a "No Party" policy. It said that there were no warnings and that security would throw you out for any noise complaints.

I really don't know but I would ask them, stating exactly what you posted here. If they refuse, which I think is very unreasonable based on what you want to use the cooler for, then make your own with their ice bucket and a trash liner.

But the idea offered about binging a soft cooler packed in your luggage and not saying anything is the best option. Again, based on what you're using it for, I don't see why not.
