    I've had two,

First was Downtown. I had just arrived in town, and went to meet some friends who were already there. Didn't feel like gambling yet so I watched those guys gamble. After awhile, I wanted a water, so I went to the bar. I plopped down, and tossed a twenty into the VP machine. First spin, AAAA. It was a progressive machine, so I won about $125. I walked without the water.

Second time. I was at Orleans, and was having a decent day. I decided to head to the room, but stopped by the High Limit room to toss a hundy into a $2 DDB machine. Dealt two 7s, and drew the other two! Cashed out the $595 and beat feet!

Potawatomi back in the day. 500 on a .25 cent reel em in game bonus hit. Sat with cash out ticket debating if I should just leave or not. Stuck around a couple hours and gave back 200 of it.

Back in 2000, plopped a quarter in a Wild Cherry machine at the Wisconsin local--on the way out after celebrating a colleague's retirement at the casino bar. I walked out with somewhere around 150 bucks, I believe.

Hasn't happened in Vegas yet, though!

My girlfriend and I stopped in a casino to play a bit and sleep on our way back home from the longest leg of a multi-day road trip. I'd driven 10 solid hours that particular day (she can't drive my car; it's a standard) and was beat.

We checked in and I was ready for bed, hoping to sleep and gamble the next day. She wanted to hit a few slots before heading up to the room. As a joke, I gave her a $1 bill and said "Don't spend it all in one place!"

She put the $1 in a penny machine and made a .10 cent bet. It hit immediately for $600. We couldn't believe it. We turned it into $2000 the next day playing craps and blackjack.

Sorry if the picture is hard to see; that's her in front of the penny machine with the $600 cashout ticket.

I had a $150 trigger hit (plus about $30 in resulting bonus spins) on my first spin of a machine at Paris for a thirty cent bet. Not a bad ROI.

In regards to the question in the title, no, I'm going to gamble what I planned to gamble. An early or late win is great.

Wait- did she hit $600 off a literal 10 cent bet? That's 6000x1 return. Even if she bet $1 (10 cents x 10) that's still 600 to one.
Incredible win either way- just wondering what it would have paid with max bet?

The New Year's Eve trip 2014 at the D.

$5 Double Diamond. I hit for $8000 on about the 4th spin. Unfortunately, this was so early in the trip that I couldn't "hold" it, and ended up losing it all back over the 4 days.

As close as a walk-away as I can remember-
For my 30th birthday (along time ago,) my wife, father-in-law and I arrived in Vegas. We came out early before several more of our family met up with us. I was pretty medicated from my "fear of flying" drugs. My wife and father-in-law went to check into the rooms but I insisted on sitting down for a couple hands of VP. I could barely walk at this point but they left me there for a couple hands. I hit "draw" and the machine locked up. I thought it was broken so I was searching for the call-attendant light.
What I thought was a .25 DDB machine turned out to be a $1 DDB machine and I'd hit a royal (on as far as I can remember) my first hand for four grand.
A great start to my 30th b-day celebration!!

One cold March day in Hotlanta I decided to take a day trip to Cherokee Valley in Murphy NC. Just to have something to do, no golf that day. It's only a 2 hour drive.

Sat down to a lousy .25 DW vp game. About 3 or 4 spins in I hit the royal for $1000. Cashed out and drove home.

4 hours of driving but added to my BR for the April Vegas trip.

Yes. One 10 cent bet for $600. I didn't believe it at first, I was so tired. She said "Hey, I think I'm wining a couple hundred bucks..." as the machine credits kept counting up and the lights kept flashing. I thought she was miscounting. Took a few moments before my math skills kicked in and I realized what was happening. I can't recall what the max bet was on that machine or the payout structure, but we were happy with our unexpected hit.

That was her second ever casino visit. She's spoiled for life!

I walked into the "High Roller" slot area.
I had $10 earmarked for one spin.
I won $600 on the first ( and only ) spin.
I put the $$$ in an envelope + it came home with me.

put $20 into a The Hangover at Seneca Niagara.
when I put the money in, I didn't realize that the bet and odds buttons weren't properly working on the machine- they were all blacked out, except for one that was lit grey, with no writing or anything on it.

for some reason, I hit that button instead of taking the money back out (not sure why), and it spun for $4.00
I ended up with those 'tiger claw wilds' all over the screen and ended up hitting for like $350.

not a huge win, but not bad for essentially an accidental push on a machine that wasn't working properly.

Yes, several times. First time was the OLD MGM Grand on my first trip.

The one I really remember was on an old State Fair machine at the Stardust shortly before it closed. Slid in a $20 and hit max. Whammo!

But wait, there's more! I then realized that the previous player had it set to $.05 instead of $.01! A most definite walk-away win!

Couple days after Christmas. Wife wanted to take kids to Mall for some exchanges. I said “I’ll go”. She new right away, Mall was real close to The Boat.

She dropped me off, said she’d be back in 2 hours or less (so not quite a “Walk Away”). I played some Bac, got up a couple hundred. She texted to say she’d be there in 15 min.

I cash out and head to the $100 slot. Put 2 bills in. Nothing on the first spin (snap of the fingers and $100 is gone). Second spin and it locks up. I don’t know what’s going on - never had a Hand Pay. I look around, trying to figure it out. Slot lady comes by and says “you won $2K”........Alright, I text the wife this may take awhile.

So they wait in the car........good degen family. 15 mins or so later, I get paid and they ask, “we need to Spin Off the machine, unless you want to.” I say “Heck yea, I want to!”. Put another Hundo in and BAMMMMMMMMMM! Hit for $3K!!!

Slot workers say that they’ve never saw that happen. I text the wife that I hit it again and it will be a little longer. Wife says, she has to come inside now and see. The kids get out of the car and hit the snack bar for a pop.

Great ride home with fifty-six $100 bills.

A few years back I put at $50 bill...yes, a $50 bill into a $0.25 Wheel of Fortune machine at Casino Royale on the Strip and got the SPIN on the first play...it hit for 1000 credits. Cashed out a $299.25 ticket and "walked away".

We just got done seeing MJ ONE at MB and were heading towards the FBBJ table when my wife decided to give the Village People Jackpot Party machine a try. Put in $20 and hit the bonus round on the first spin. I believe it was a 20 cent spin. It kept retriggering and going on, and when it was over, she was at a little over $86. Immediately hit CASH OUT and walked away.

My girl friend and I had just finished eating lunch at the Rio buffet and was heading to the airport at the end of our trip(this was back in the mid '90's). As we were walking through the casino to pick up the car, an elderly lady hit a hand pay on her slot machine. She was very excited as was several of her friends. We stopped briefly to enjoy the entertainment and watch the fun. I reached into my pocket and dropped 3 nickels into a slot machine next to me and pulled the handle; not even paying much attention to the machine. I looked over and I had won $40 which I immediately hit the cash out button and then started scooping up the piles of nickels from the tray. A old guy sitting next to the slot gave me the death stare all the while I was collecting my winnings. Apparently he had been playing that machine and had just moved over to play another slot.
