I just returned from a trip to the Aria and while they went to 6:5 blackjack on low limit tables last year, they recently changed all of their $25 and under tables to 6:5 blackjack. The only blackjack tables there that pay 3:2 on blackjack now are $50 minimum bet and higher. I spoke to the pit boss to see if they lowered the minimums during the slow times on the 3:2 games and she said no. She said that they new policy at Aria was to only offer 3:2 blackjack at $50 tables and up during all times.

I meant to visit the Bellagio to see if it was the same there too, but I didn't have time. Anyone know if this change affected the Bellagio as well?

Damn that sucks. We are going to be at Mandalay Bay on Saturday and was planning on playing at Bellagio and Aria as well. Looks like I can scratch Aria off that list. Thanks for the heads up

Damn. Have a stay booked at Aria in October and I generally enjoy playing BJ there. Have always been able to find $25 3:2 tables in the past. CSM's but 3:2 at least. Guess I won't be playing BJ at Aria this trip.

That's nuts. There's literally no reason to go out there to gamble.

This past weekend, Bellagio did have $25 3:2 BJ. But considering the fact that sub-$50 3:2 is nigh on impossible to find at any other top tier strip joints these days, I can't imagine Bellagio not following suit.

The gambling conditions at MGM properties have been headed south ever since the PGP plan started . I have gambled enough this year to stay platinum thru 9/30/2017 but I refuse to gamble with them any longer . MGM is nothing more than a hotel resort that runs a casino as an after thought . I go to vegas to have a fair gamble and not be taken advantage of every time you turn the corner. It is time for me to burn thru the free rooms and use up all the express comps and find a better place to gamble.

People stopped caring about the "odds" on the strip long ago...no one who goes to the strip goes for the "great gambling"...

Dont like their BJ rules, dont go there people. I really think they should go to even money, why not, people are dumb enough to play 6/5 at $25 a hand?

If they haven't already, they probably will do a study. I'm sure the 6:5 rule was done to see if the extra revenue they get from the many not-so-bright people, more than offsets the lost revenue from the fewer smarter players who refuse to play with those rules.

I was also just there (last week) and the $5 electronic blackjack game (the "Playboy" branded one that faces the regular blackjack tables) paid 3:2 on naturals.

Strangely, the non-Playboy electronic game (which sits back-to-back with it) is a $5 game that pays 1:1 on naturals.

They seem to change the payouts on these games frequently (seasonally?). Last summer, they were both 3:2. When I was there in November, they were both 6:5. Now, one is 3:2 and the other is the horrible 1:1.

Like most players, I vastly prefer non-electronic blackjack, but I was surprised to see a low-rolling option for BJ players at, of all places, the Aria.

Too bad. That means no BJ for me in the home base of my upcoming trip... if things develop like this we may be better off playing slots than table games soon...

It's funny you suggest that. At my local, Hollywood Casino in Columbus, OH, so many players shout out, "EVEN MONEY" before the dealer even has a chance to offer that sucker bet. Maybe the pit bosses have encouraged dealers to offer it more, with the selling line, "If someone walked up to you and offered you $15, wouldn't you take it?"

I'm beginning to believe the players think they sound smart when they ask for even money.

    :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Will report back what I find when I visit in 10 days.... Was just there in March and they had a few $25 3:2 games with good rules, right across the aisle from a pit of $10-$25 6:5 tables.

They have it already at most Game-King terminals, and I see people playing it a lot...why not offer LOADS of $5 1:1 BJ tables..guaranteed people would be all over them...
I think the only reason they DON'T do it, is even with a huge HA on 1:1 BJ, at a $5 limit, the house hold isn't high enough to make it really a profitable solution.

I don't know how people play out there, but in Columbus, OH, a lot of people double on a hard 5. 80% of people double on a hard 8.

So yes, I still think they'd make a fortune.

Gosh, I hate MGM properties so much. But when morons insist on playing these terrible games, why wouldn't they offer it? I was at MGM last week and the entire long pit of BJ was $25 6:5 and was FULL, while the pit with 3:2 was entirely empty, with ridiculously high minimums ($50 for 6-deck and $100 DD). Pathetic, and I let them know it.

Not many people understand these things, guys. Seriously, ever see a game of Spanish 21? Some people play BJ strategy on it and plenty of others go for the sucker bet ALL THE TIME. Younger folks who don't know any better just come in and gamble. By the way, this is why I've always preferred roulette. It's completely random, but the pay conditions never change.

I feel like most people play Spanish 21 specifically for the sucker bet.

At least here in Detroit, that's how it is. I don't play the sucker bet and people get mad at me.

I'll be at Wynn next week & report back on the payouts. I had planned on giving Aria & Bellagio some play but I won't do it at Aria now. We'll see what the B is doing. Actually, I prefer giving Wynncore 80% of my play anyway ~ I may just go to Bellagio for a shave/massage & dinner to use some of my express comps. Hopefully, if enough people stop playing those 6:5 games they'll go back but I won't hold my breath. If any of you are looking for a non Vegas really nice place (Wynn built it) go to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi.
