I wonder if they are going to renovate the pool or take it away all together, which that wouldn't make sense to do...

next they will add face police to only allow the beautiful people in.
All others will be put on a bus to Circus Circus

Heading to Vegas in late October and was thinking of staying at MC but with no pool and no Pub, we might pass. Although I did see that you can use the other MGM pools (didn't say which ones).

The Pub was underrated IMO. Huge beer selection, decent prices, and friendly bartenders. Food was decent but service in the dining areas was sketchy at best.

If I did not read the link, I would not believe it.

The Pub was a great food option. Though we never use the pool there, it appears to have lots of use?

The shops - well,I wonder what they are going to put in that space.

Or in the pub area. Or in the pool area. Lots of square footage there. Funny, I always though of the pub and shops as being under ground, but they are the same level as the casino. It must be those long stairs down from the Aria/Tram station that confuse me. Dumb on my part.

Not dumb on your part I always felt like I was going underground entering that area as well.

Was only at the Pub once. Enjoyed our meal and beers. Had to get out of my seat and tell the bartender to either charge the bill to my room or suck it because I hadn't seen a waitress in 20 minutes and I had show tickets. The service was terrible.

I wonder how this will affect tram access? We always go through there to access the tram. Oh well.

Oh I am going to miss the bar area. Spent a lot of time trying out different craft beers during happy hour. I didn't find the food that great, but did like the spicy thai wings.

I also wonder if the access to the tram is going away. We always cut through there to use the tram.

This Monte Carlo renovation is going to be the next "Linq." The can spruce it up all they want, but they're never going to be able to attract the high class clientele they think they will...

Last time I was there was during the Grey Cup. It was just my wife, me, and a smattering of very polite Roughrider and Tiger-Cat fans.

thats too bad, I was a huge fan of the place, the beer selection was great, and the food was pretty good.

I'm glad I'll get a chance to check it out before it closes.

Stayed at the MC last year and it is generally tired and in need of a reinvigoration, from the bars, to the CWs, especially check in and the Mlife staff it just felt like everything was slightly too much trouble. The Pub was always OK to me, not great and the shops down there are nothing special since they took out the Cigar shop. Overall, I will not miss any of it and if they do a good job, like IP becoming the Linq, I will be pleased to see it!

Very surprised to hear this as well - as others have said though, my main concern is maintaining the tram access, since I use it quite a lot to get around the mid-Strip area.

I always thought the shops around there were a bit too hidden for their own good and didn't seem to attract that much clientele (other than people going to and from the tram), but the Pub always seemed fairly popular and did indeed have a very nice selection of beers.

I'll miss the PUB. We used to do MNF there for a number of years. Nice big space and they were early to craft beers.

I did not even stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I would bet all of your money that access to tram and more importantly, Aria will still be there. Different, but still there. They need traffic between Aria and MC or whatever they call the revised hotel/casino.

they need to maintain a solid flow from Aria/MC/NYNY/MGM etc

That's truly bad news about the Pub. Was on my regular visit list in Vegas. I've used the bogo flights many times from MyVegas. I remember a long time ago when they had dualing pianos there and actually brewed their own beer. Place definitely won't be the same without it.

I will miss the Pub. I cashed in many a myVegas beer flight there, and went in regardless pretty much every trip to Vegas. Truly massive beer selection and regardless of the event or time of year you could always get a seat. Many a night when it was crazy on the strip I would sneak back there and decompress with a good beer and a game on the countless TV's.

I know a lot of the bartenders pretty well, hope they get transferred to other south strip MGM props, maybe a few will end up at NYNY where I generally stay.

Guess I get to pay my last respects when I'm there in 3 weeks.

That sucks. We arrive on the 4th, one day late. We really did enjoy the place. At least one afternoon of the trip we would go in there and try two or three different beers and have some nachos. Gonna miss the ole gal.

My wife and I shall make one last visit to the Pub. Food was OK, but enjoyed the beer selection. The pool going is a bit of a shock though.

All you need to put on is a nice shirt, a sharp haircut, and a great big smile ... You'll always be one of the beautiful people.
