After many decades of being a simple man who just enjoyed his simple American beers, I have recently started branching out and sampling a lot of different craft-style beers, from IPA's to Stouts. Curious what are the best places in Las Vegas to enjoy a beer that isn't just a Coors Light and, also, if there are casino bars where you could at least score a Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada as a comp while you play? I do know about the bar at MSS.
I played there back in May and enjoyed their beers and will probably go back. Open to any advice any of you all may have.

Yes, MSS has some pretty good beers. Ellis Island has some good, brewed on-site beers, too. The Monte Carlo pub has a lot taps, so some of them must fit your request. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Tag Lounge for sure. You can get most comped just by playing 25 cent Video Poker max bet of course. You will never run out of beers to taste there. Chicago Pizza at the 4Queens is good also for Video poker comp.

tringlomane beat me to it. TAG bar is great!

Wynncore bars and restaurants may not have a large craft beer selection but they have some good beers from what I remember. Plus they had beer that they contracted, a Saison, last year. It was really good.

If you feel like taking a ride off strip, check out this place in Boulder City (about a half hour drive from The Strip) - it has tons of craft beer and the food is great too:

    Yardhouse.

I've been disappointed in MSS and EI. They're afraid to really hop up an ale.

I believe that most of the "mass market" craft beers are getting more common. I'm pretty sure that the Venetian poker room comps Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. For something as common as Sam Adams or SN, I'd just ask and see. It's not like the server won't instantly know if that's available. It's almost like asking if they have Michelob. Not guaranteed, but it's not a ludicrous question.

Gustav's in Paris for comped whilst playing VP doesn't have a huge selection but certainly 3 or 4 decent bottled darker beers. Sam Adams and SN are available in many locations now when playing slots/table games. Cosmo and Cromwell also good for something a bit different for a comped beer. I like Fat Tire.

Great information! Thanks. Had forgotten about the Tag bar. Since I will be staying at Ballys, I will likely be playing mostly on that side of the street and that will work well. Will definitely check out the brewpub on Fremont East as well when I do my evening downtown.

Just read a review of the new 365 Pub at Tuscany. Check Westie's recent post of restaurant reviews to read.

Sounds like my kind of place..... a little more laid back and time to interact with the server.

if you want craft beers while playing VP I'd go with TAG at Linq for a Strip property and while MSS gets mentioned a lot downtown the Long Bar at the D also has a lot of beers on draught that you can't get everywhere.

Pub 365 at the Tuscany comps VP players as well. You can get any beer priced $10 or lower for free while playing (that includes most beers....they do have some rare ones for $50+ and these are not comped). Great food as well at Pub 365. If you're staying on the strip, its worth a decent walk or a short cab ride to enjoy some great grub and tasty beers.
