    Hey there!

I'm planing a trip to a CET property in Vegas. I've stayed at PH twice and Paris. I've seen that Harrah's has been upgrading their rooms and I think they look very nice. How is the overall vibe of Harrahs? Does it lean older/younger or lots of fun/dreary?

The last time I went in there was 2010. I also wouldn't mind finally staying at Caesars but it seems the Julius tower is always unavailable! :/

Harrah's has a slightly older crowd, maybe 40-50s (give or take). The dealers are some of the nicest/friendliest I've ever dealt with in LV. They do have the Carnival Court that attracts a younger crowd (20-30s) but that is easily accessible from the Linq, also. The Linq attracts a younger crowd all around. Personally, I love Harrah's and stay there often. The statue of the Cashmans always brings a smile to my face.

I have never liked the place. Renovations or not to me it still feels like an old Holiday Inn. It was the first place I ever stayed in Vegas. It was a Holiday Inn then and hasn't really changed much IMHO. Lipstick on a pig but still a pig :)

It is an older crowd and the Mardi Gras Tower rooms are like just like the old Holiday Inn it once was--BUT-being older (61)--we like the vibe, dealers, location and ease of access to the really old vibe of the Casino Royale and cheap beer.

I'm in my mid-30s and I love harrahs. It is an older crowd but a fun one.

I find the dealers, CWs, and staff to be very friendly. We've had very few issues here and they were all resolved to my satisfaction. The casino and hotel are busy but I never seem to have a problem finding a machine or table I want to play. The location is also great for getting to a lot of properties on the strip and shuttles to other properties are easily accessible.

We almost always stay there and would be in a few weeks if we weren't comped at Palazzo and Cosmo. It is likely my husband and I will be staying there in January.

Older crowd, overall friendly dealers and bartenders. Will be busy at night.

i agree with several of the responses, a little older crowd is great for me, not a big fan of the 20 something club scene kids. have found the staff, dealers, waitresses, etc to be great. my last trip, about a month ago, i felt like my room was really worn out and in need of some updates. only other issue i saw was having enough staff working the check in desk. i arrived at about midnight vegas time on a wednesday night and there was 45 people in line and one person working. luckily i was on an offer and got to bypass. people in line were not happy :)

I cannot comment on the rooms, however I do agree with other on the Casino. Fun friendly dealers and staff. I have always been taken care of when playing craps their. My wife feels the same when she is at the slots.

We haven't stayed there (yet), but it's fun to play there a little and enjoy some beverages, usually just "passing through" on a day of exploring the Strip.
Friendly folks from what I remember...I always seem to run into someone I know there.

I like the 40s and 50s crowd! Such a better fun to be had the conversations are much better than being around drunk younger people.
( for some reason I have a feeling that the younger crowd, I.E. > 20s , automatically equates fun with drunkenness )
40s and 50s (for the most part, I guess Vegas crowd is not a good representative demographic sample lol) can see the forest for the trees , so to speak, when it comes to social life.

With the Linq and Carnival Court right beside it, you will find the young hip crowd you're looking for. Worst part is the time share salesmen wanting to talk every time you leave the property.

I'll concur with all those that are saying that the casino is pretty good- it certainly is.

cocktail service is pretty good, and any of the dealers that I've dealt with have been super nice. It seems to get pretty busy at night and it tends to get a bit smoky.

I agree with everyone. I thought it was just me, but whenever I go there, I dont always head up to the latest and trendiest, but I always peruse right into Harrah's and hang out there for a good major hours of my stays. I always thought hey it aint that bad in this casino , Im glad it is a general consensus.

i've stayed there many times.....gotten to know several employees that are like friends.
there was a stretch when i wasn't able to get to town for a couple years.
when i finally got there and was walking past the old bar where the double deck blackjack tables are
i heard some one call my name.
It was TJ, the bartender. It made me feel like Norm from Cheers.
    lots of good people there.
one other time the wife and i were walking near the piano bar and the Twinkeys were on
their way to work and they said Hi Mikey....boy did I get "the look":haha:

I like Harrah's and have stayed there a number of times. I prefer that side of the street. It's location on the strip is excellent. Since it's an older hotel, you can get from your room to the strip in under 6 hours. It's not pretentious nor is its client base.
The only downside is that it gets a bit too smokey in the casino.

I really enjoy Harrahs. I am allergic to something in the cleaning solution in the rooms (one would think it would be the same at all CET props?) so I have given up staying there. But I always play there. The new food court is a great place to grab something quick also, plus a bunch of stuff close in Linq alley, as well as Hash House in Linq. McD's etc out the north end at Casino Royale. I do not use the furthest north exit as the time share people seem to grab you there. I go out to strip closer to the table games area.

The vibe at Harrah's is summed up in one word: Casino. It's not an airport hanger with blackjack tables or a Fantasy reproduction with slots. It's one of the few casinos on the strip that is unashamed to be and operate as a casino. That's why I've always liked it. I stayed once and the only reason I haven't gone back is because the rooms are on the smaller side. When I would book a TR comp stay, I take the biggest and swankiest room I could get for free. But the overall experience at Harrah's was positive, especially on the service side so I have no problem recommending it. Harrah's does skew older but to me it's all ages. There's nothing happening there that makes you feel only seniors belong there.

If you have a choice between Paris and Harrahs, I would pick Paris, nicer rooms, much better pool, lot of food options. Location with Ballys on one side and PH on the other is also very good. with the new CVS easy shopping for extras.

Hotel rooms at Paris are larger and a little nicer.
The nicer part may be changing with the renovations ongoing at Harrahs.

The casino at Harrah's is also much more lively and friendly.
