We just got back from our trip and I thought I'd share our experience with the new parking system at Bellagio and Luxor. We pulled into Bellagio and got our self parking ticket. Upon leaving 2 days later, all we had to do was show the attendant our Platinum card upon leaving and they didn't even want to see the parking ticket we had picked up when entering. No problems.

We then moved down to Luxor, and again took the self parking ticket upon entering. When we left 3 days later, we tried to stick our Platinum card in the machine, but it indicated the card was invalid. So the attendant said we needed to put our parking ticket into the machine and then put our players card in. This didn't work. After another try, we still got the same results. So he had to call someone who just opened the gate. So Bellagio didn't want the ticket, but Luxor did. Eventually it all worked out. Hopefully they can get the bugs worked out for our next trip.

I was under the impression that you just insert your mlife card when you enter and you don't take a ticket. That is how my room key worked and how the locals use their drivers license.

It wouldn't open the gate until we took the ticket. According to both attendants, we did need to grab a ticket. I guess we should have tried that. We might have had issues at the Luxor anyways, because it wouldn't take our card.

When I stayed at Luxor in June, you put your card in at entry and it opened the gate, and then at exit as well. Didn't need to take a ticket then.

Interesting. You would think the attendants would know that. We did try putting in our card, but it said the card was invalid. Not sure why because it worked just fine everywhere else.

Mine worked fine until it stopped one day. It worked in slots etc but the parking gates wouldn't read it anymore. I just took a ticket to open the gate that day and threw it away. When my card wouldn't work to leave, the attendant just used a card she had to open the gate for me. I then got a new card and it worked fine the rest of the trip.

Good info, I will get a new card as soon as we get there next time, and hopefully there will be no more issues.

I personally think them charging for parking and valet is ridiculous.... I'm also a platinum player so I don't have to pay anything but, it became one of the "perks" unfreaking real... To park at their casino so we can gamble with our money and they want to charge us???? Unfreaking real.... As MGM gets bigger start taking over other casino...these type of behavior will keep on happening.... I'm sure one day they will start charging to enter the casino..of course platinum will get in for free because it will become a freaking perk..... I really hate and hate the idea of they charging parking..

Stayed at Bellagio 3weeks ago. Didn't need to take a ticket, just inserted mlife card and the gate opened. When we were leaving, my friend was looking for the spot to insert the card and the gate opened on it's own, told him to just drive and didn't even get to insert the card. Could this have been cause they're reading the license plates and recognizing them?
