It is not on the strip but I recommend the prime rib loft at the orleans. Only a 5 minutes cab ride from the strip and it will cost you half the price of any strip location and potatoes and salad come with the meal, not Ala Carte like most places

You need to go to Lawry's prime rib for a great dinner. By far the best I have ever had. Worth the short cab ride.

    what's your budget?

if you don't mind going off strip i recommend the cortez room at the gold coast.
i like the old school vibe of the place and the food is quite good.

    Hey Now!
The Cortez Room unfortunately is closed.
I second the Prime Rib Loft.
    Newly renovated too!

The Golden Steer serves a Great Prime Rib. It's expensive but very Goodly. They usually have a Groupon that helps cover some cost....

On the lower end, Ellis Island has a good Prime Rib dinner.

Definitely Lawry's Prime Rib. I've dined there several times and the prime rib is great as well as impeccable service.

+1. Very "old school" ambiance. Food beats the heck out of the "absentee celebrity chef" places on the Strip, and this place is within a stone's throw of the Strip.

Also technically on the Strip (LVB that is), a real sleeper for prime rib is Jerry's Nugget in North Las Vegas. It's very downscale but the quality of the prime rib is right up there with the hoity-toity places!

I agree with both of these places. I highly recommend Jerry's Nugget if you are willing to head to North Vegas!

Another vote for Lawry's. The second time I went there, I tried a steak to see how it was. Big mistake! It was ok, the prime rib is better!

If you take the expressway and use the valet park on the north side of the building, it's perfectly safe. If you take Main St. (and to an extent LVB) you do pass through a very dicey area.

YOU CAN USUALLY GET DECENT PRIME RIB AT THE HIGHER-END BUFFETS, WHICH IS GOOD IF YOU WANT A VARIED SELECTION OF FOODS IN A CASUAL SETTING. IF THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, THE BACCHANAL BUFFET AND THE BUFFET AT THE WYNN ARE DECENT CHOICES.

I love prime rib! I've also been going to casino buffets since the 1970s. I can count on one hand with fingers left over the times I've had true restaurant-quality prime rib at a casino buffet! (Sams Town, of all places, once, and a rare exception, and Mohegan Sun, recently are two I remember.) Some (Rio, Caesars) have come close but it's usually too well done, too tough, or stringy. The local Ameristar has prime rib every Saturday and it's usually quite tasty but it's most definitely not Lawry's or even Jerry's nugget.

You would compare the quality of the prime rib at Jerry's Nugget to buffets like Wynn, which really does have good prime rib? The M buffet isn't all that consistent but can be really good if you go there on a good night..For a really good prime rib dinner I might try Jerry's Nugget, but it's such a dump inside....

No, I would compare the prime rib at Jerry's Nugget to places like Lawry's! I'm hard-pressed to think of any prime rib at a buffet (even what I had at the new Caesars) that's truly restaurant quality. Closest I remember recently was at Mohegan Sun, actually. It's such a crapshoot as to how it's done or the quality at a buffet, even the better ones.
