Anyone have any info on Harrahs KC? Got a free trip offer from CET and thinking about going. Never been to KC before. My cousin will be joining me on the trip. We're thinking about going to a royals game or Chiefs game depending on when we go. Maybe some golf too.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. (restaurants, casino/room info, transportation etc)

I play vp, bj, craps, carny games, slots etc.

I found a few older reports on here but nothing too recent.

Hotel rooms are clean and overall OK. Nothing special.
Games are pretty standard. Dealers are pretty weak. Really hit or miss as far as being pleasant or even knowing the games.
VP Paytables are right around Vegas strip level.
810 Zone has good, reasonable bar food. 37 Steak is very pricey. The Diamond Lounge opens for salad at 3p and full dinner at 5p. Earlier on Sundays.
You have to pay for drinks even if you're Diamond.
All casinos here are standalone so to go from one to another you need a car.

Thanks for the info. Any idea if the drinks are cheaper in the diamond lounge?

I live in KC and have played here and stayed overnight from time to time. BarbaryCoast pretty much summed it up. I think if you mix it up with a sporting event you would enjoy yourself. KC has a lot to offer

A few thoughts. Friendliest casino/hotel you will ever visit. Can't speak to the dealers as I don't play tables but everyone else I have come in contact with there has been amazing. Have stayed dozens of times as it is my TR "home." Rooms are average but have a fridge and coffee maker which is nice. I always bring in some of my own alcohol since it isn't free in Missouri. If you can manage an upgrade, the Junior Suites are very nice. Food selection is only fair. 810 Zone closed to make way for a new sports bar coming later this year. Snack bar actually has decent fast food type grub and the buffet isn't bad. Haven't tried 37 Steak but has gotten good reviews. Is pricey though. There is also a "noodle place" on the casino floor but also have not tried it as I am not a big fan of Asian cuisine. VP is not good but I've seen worse. I usually get a pretty fair amount of play out of the slots. There are a good number of the old classic 3-reel variety here in all denominations but they usually get at least a couple of the hot new machines (Britney, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory) but they tend to get a lot of play when it is busy. Normally it isn't that busy during the week but the weekend nights can actually be fairly crowded. Another note is that the casino itself is a fair hike from the hotel but it is all indoors so not bad. lf you want to check out KC, you should have a car. If you don't use valet, I'd recommend using the surface parking area as it much closer to the hotel. Hope you will come visit us.

Thanks for the info. I'll be out next month. I wasn't planning on renting a car. The hotel is sending transportation to and from the airport. I was planning on using uber to get around since I'll most likely be drinking almost anywhere we go.

Planning on going to the Chiefs/chargers game on Sunday and playing some golf on the Saturday we are out there. I'd also like to spend Saturday night downtown hitting some of the bars. If you have any recommendations on places to eat, bars or places to see outside the casino let me know.

I was there a few weeks ago. I came a few days early, hoping to photograph the KC Streetcar but it was too {expletive} hot and muggy so I went shopping and casino surfed. I stopped at Harrah's briefly but didn't play much. As with many other CET properties they have taken out most of the machines I like, such as the classic IGT games. I went over to Isle Of Capri and there were quite a few of the ones I like.

I took a quick peek outside the casino and it looked like one of the restaurants (steak house, maybe?) had been closed. Buffet is still there.

I was also somewhat disappointed at Ameristar. :( They had most of the upper level closed off for renovations (translated: taking out the machines I like) :( but I did fairly well there.

Damn. Glad we squeezed in a visit in June then! They really had some classics there. First spin on "Kingpin" and I got the bonus. Wish that happened more!

Hopefully they don't mess with the bartops either. Best quarter VP in KC by far. I also found one bartop with 9/6 JoB this last time, the rest were set at 8/5. [emoji15]

Unfortunately IPK, there isn't much available without a decent drive/or uber that I'm aware of. Ameristar may actually be the best nearest point of interest. The power and light district (a good choice for a collection of walkable bars/restaurants) is 7 miles from Harrahs NKC. Closer than I would have guessed.

And VP at NKC isn't that great. There is 1 machine that offers full pay games starting at the $2 level in high limit, but it's $50/point. 9/6 JoB (99.54%) and 9/6 Double Double Aces and Faces (99.46%) are offered. But I'm guessing the theo on that is set to very tiny as well.

Everything else for dollars+ is one notch worse at least. Double STP has 7/5 Bonus (98.51%) and 9/5 DDB (98.37%) iirc.

There is also a quarter 100 play that offers 8/6 Boner Deluxe (98.49%) and 7/5 Bonus (98.01%).

Are you sure it's that far? (I don't know for sure, I'm asking.) :) I always think of Isle of C, Harrah's, and Ameristar to all be fairly close to the center of the action via Front Street.

That's what Google maps told me anyway. Remember that's it also almost a mile drive on Harrah's property alone. I hate that about the former Harrah's STL as well. Gotta be floating over some channel within 1000 feet of the Missouri or Mississippi River to make the state happy! Lol

You are correct on that! I think of it being right off Choteau and Front, but in reality it's off the beaten path quite a bit. I also keep ignoring the fact that the Ameristar parking lot is probably a good mile from the expressway exit on 210.

The one that's the long tricky drive (at least for me) is Argosy.

Sorry just back to looking at this section. I think it was just quarters only at that bar.
