I have an upcoming stay at Silver Sevens and would like opinions of members that have stayed there before. I chose Silver 7's for the location to the upcoming event and it was so much more reasonable. Thanks in advance.

I go back a long way with this casino/hotel. It was my home casino when it was Terribles. I always felt the rooms were a great value and the pool area is very nice. The breakfast buffet is also a value. Since you chose it for the location I think you will be happy with your choice. They have a airport shuttle and I believe they still have one to the strip.

If you dont mind being away from the strip and all the action in Vegas the place is fine. The buffet is a value but I and many others will tell you "You get what you paid for".

The pool area is surprisingly nice for them. But would be ho-hum compared to strip properties. The casino seems fair. Many lower level betting options. But its fairly small.

stayed there when it was the continental and later terribles------a good bang for your buck type place with a great location-----certainly does not compare to the strip properties ,a low rollers place-----"if only you could get what you pay for" would apply here-----

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to hear it's not too bad. I don't expect the Bellagio. Would you guys say it is similar to Ellis Island Super 8 or better?

We have stayed there when it was Terrible's. It's fine. We go to Ellis Island regularly but have never stayed there. I believe Dewey has experience of both to compare.

It's nicer than some downtown places we have stayed in. That's for sure. Surprisingly spacious room, but the bathroom is small if I remember correctly. I would stay there again.

A fair place to base yourself out of. The buffet is horrible, but the cafe is surprisingly good with some really good deals.

The room at Terrible's was fine. The casino is ok if you don't mind smoke.

I was just in Silver Sevens last week. I was a regular patron when it was Terrible's and have not stayed there since the change. I went to use a MP while I was in the area.

The place is the same as always. Small, crowded, and smells like the house of a smoker. It is not too bad, even though I hate smoke.

The dealers, pit boss and cashiers were all very nice, maybe because I was 20 years older than all the other gamblers. All in all, I would consider to stay again if they gave me free rooms and no resort fee. Until then, long live the Station Hotels and Casinos.

Buffet is terrible even if it is free...the café, as someone mentioned is very good. Get the deuces breakfast for $2.22 (not on the menu) and they always have good specials for dinner. You can always walk up to the Hard Rock for a little more "glam" and more choices, but don't plan to walk to either the strip or even Ellis Island in the heat. There are some other food choices in the close vicinity including Morton's, The Habit hamburger place (very good) and many others. Sportsbook is decent.

We like the breakfasts at the café. The burgers are decent, not excellent by any stretch, but decent. The only thing we got there that we didn't like was the ribs. Overcooked, dry and chewy. Ick. Didn't plan on having ribs, it just worked out that way. If we had even an inkling in advance, we'd have gone to Ellis Island BBQ!

Haven't really gambled there in years though. I think the last time was when LVA had a deal with them to rebate $100 in losses. Lost the $100 quick playing 5 play quarters VP. Hopped around and used the free play rebate to play lots of slots, think we within $20 of even. Cheap and fun entertainment for less than $20. Gosh I miss the really good deals LVA used to have.

Sorry, can't comment on the rooms, never stayed there.

    Cheers,
    Kelly

PS thanks for the walk down memory lane.

I have a lot of experience with this casino, but not recently. I was a regular at the buffet from 1984-1987 when it was The Continental. The dinner buffet was $1.99 and the highlight of the buffet was ribs. One time the power went out for the whole property, and there was only one backup light that worked in the buffet. It was so dark, but everything continued on as normal. I asked the buffet waitress to refill my coffee and she missed my cup by about 6 inches, pouring coffee straight onto the carpet. I think that's why you will no longer find carpet in buffets. Also if you go to the buffet, look for waiter Ali, he was the best ever! And if you do decide to play the tables, make sure to walk away from any table that you witness management stuffing money into their pockets.

I played there when it was the Continental (tres ordinaire) and stayed there once when it was Terribles and it was very Super-8-ish, hotel wise. Room was small but clean and OK. Casino was small but had a lot of the machines I like.

Buffet was, well, there. :) :)

Lately, SS has been my go-to place for Vegas lodging. The rooms are more than satisfactory and the pool meets my needs as much as any Strip locale, especially with hot tub open year round, a few palm trees and peaceful ambience. Appreciate the location from airport and relative closeness to Strip. Agree about the casino being smoky and tightly packed, though.

I love Silver Sevens but have never stayed there. Wednesday is senior day with a lot of promos with Players Card. I won $400 on the slot tournament for 2nd Place and always get freeplay and food comps just for putting the card in the kiosk. Very easy to get freeplay or comps for your play too. Bingo is the best in Vegas with the least people competing each session. Cafe is great. Buffet is cheap and you can always find something to eat just to have a full stomach for little money. New steakhouse is like an episode of Fawlty Towers (not sure if you guys have that on tv), hilarious.

    Hey Now!
First place we ever stayed in Vegas. The rooms in the old section are great if you have a car. And my best friend Ziggy works there as a bartender. I go there daily every trip!

It is a lot better than the Super 8! I only said the breakfast buffet was a value! You can get a homemade omelet!! I would not do the dinner nor the lunch.

The rooms are large compared to the Super 8. They have always had a large Plasma, Super had a small tube last time I stayed there.

Make sure you get a card for the discounts and specials. They also had to order waffles last time I was there.

The room we had was most definitely kinda smallish compared to say the ROTH rooms at Flamingo or Sams Town. The one we had was to the right and down the hall from the casino, main level.
