Very little experience but you have to,
    1. Go around town and find different pokemon, they show up on your map/radar, you have to be within maybe 50 feet of them to collect. These seem to be random. You catch the pokemon by encapsulating it with a pokeball, you use up pokeball doing this.

    2. Go to poke-stops. These seems to be highly photographed locations. The local Air Force Museum has a poke-stop at just about every static aircraft display. The water fountain in front of Cheddars is a poke-stop. Poke stops seem to be permanent. At pokestops you get pokeballs and other items.

    3. Go to poke-gyms. Fight the pokemon controlling the gym, if you win, you leave behind pokemons and collect items as they occupy the gym.

This is going crazy around here. My 20 yo son went to lunch with us yesterday. While my wife did a little shopping in Hobby Lobby I drove son around to pokestops and to capture pokemons. I put the app/game on my phone to see what it's about.

We saw 20-30 people at the museum playing. You can use a 'lure' at attract pokemons, a dozen or so vehicles were parked at one of the displays as someone had thrown out a 'lure' which can beneath others as well as yourself.

Basically it's a game that uses the GPS in your smartphone so that the "game" takes place in real life places. You walk around and little monsters pop up on your map and you can then engage them in "battle". During the battle, the game uses the camera function of your phone to make it look like the monster is in whatever setting you are in real life. Once u catch the monster it goes into your monster collection. U then use these monsters in your collection to take over certain locations (the mall, the local bar, etc). It's based off the Nintendo game from like 15-20 years ago. Super fun times

Earlier today took one kid to the grocery store to get some stuff and he says "hey mom can you drive by the fire station I have to get something". "Can you drive home by the post office". Then he told me what it was all about it. (I don't really get the whole thing though)

Yeah fun he said later he was going to take his younger brother and drive around and get more. That way his brother can navigate and collect while he drives.

I got a pokemon at Kroger while picking up my Rx. Got two more before I left the store.

You can also find eggs, then put them in you incubator. You have to Walk x.x kilometers to hatch them. I got two incubating now, 4.5km to go one, 8.0km to go on the other. I guess this damn game may get me out for a stroll.

Another situation where one should have a Designated Driver. Today I drove while wife and son collected/navigated. This could be very distracting to play and drive at the same time.

O’FALLON, Mo. — Police near St. Louis are warning fans of Pokémon Go that multiple armed robbers used the app to target victims on Sunday.

Police in O’Fallon, Missouri, said they arrested multiple suspects following reports of an armed robbery on Sunday. Police say the suspects attracted several victims to a specific location by setting up a beacon to a “Pokéstop” to lure more players.

    The department wrote on Facebook:

“Many of you have asked how the app was used to rob victims, the way we believe it was used is you can add a beacon to a Pokéstop to lure more players. Apparently they were using the app to locate ppl standing around in the middle of a parking lot or whatever other location they were in.”

“If you use this app (or other similar type apps) or have children that do, we ask you to please use caution when alerting strangers of your future location,” the department wrote.

Police say the suspects committed multiple armed robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties in Missouri.

At night in St. Louis, how many non-Pokémon robberies took place?

"Alerting strangers of your location", I don't get this. I played around a lot of people yesterday, I don't believe the app ever disclosed my location to other players.

Just bit of trivia: Nintendo was founded in 1889 as a card company.

I sort of like the idea of a phone game getting users outside and off the couch. :) I think I'm above the age limit for this game though. :haha:

We saw some kids at the park where we stopped yesterday to eat our burgers for dinner. They all had their phones out in front of them as they ran down the boat dock there. I told Dan I thought they were playing Pokemon Go and he had no idea what I was talking about. I think we've reached that age where we feel too old for everything. :wink2:

My sister suggested we do a bar crawl using Pokemon Go. We'd limit to maybe like 5 bars or something.

Yeah, we've had at least 1 armed robbery here in Austin. Guy was at a bus stop playing, and a guy came up to him, and robbed him.

I finally put it on my phone, and have played it a bit. I haven't driven around looking for stuff. But, I might. Hey, I need to do some walking anyway. But, with a bum ankle, hatching the eggs are going to be a pain.

Near Scranton, PA, three people were playing the game in a cemetery and were locked in.
    http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/trio-locked-in-cemetery-while-playing-pokémon-1.2066485

In Auburn, NY, some guy crashed his car into a tree playing the game.
    http://www.syracuse.com/crime/index.ssf/2016/07/pokemon_go_crash_cny_driver_hits_tree_while_playing_game.html

Some 16 year old kid in Englewood, NJ was being robbed playing the game, but the cops caught the perp.

But Nintendo stock has doubled in value.

Love the idea of a Bar Crawl though.
