Have been going for steak/eggs breakfast 6.99 but have never gotten a rewards card
What is the advantage as I never do dinner but pop a $20 for BJ or VP

If you don't do dinner, perhaps not much. To get the $7.99 steak dinner you need a card, play a bit, then print out the coupon from the kiosk. There are a few other 'specials' linked to the card, too.

There is also a free play sign up promotion. If there is no line for the player's club, it is probably worth it for that. If nothing else, decent chance it pays for your breakfast.

I find the food there to be not very good, service the same. It's not worth the time/trouble of getting a card and playing.

I disagree with Vic, the food is decent, not gourmet, and also not $20+ per person. Yes, the service can be a bit slow, but IMHO, it is worth it. We eat there pretty much every morning we are in LV, the chicken fried chicken is yummy!

The ribs were absolutely fantastic. The steak was tough and gave me and my buddy food poisoning. Haven't been back since.

I went there a couple of years ago, used LVA coupons, and did the 7.99 steak. The gambling is good with low limits and good VP pay tables but I was unimpressed with the food and the beer. The 7.77 special at Mr. Luckys in Hard Rock is much better.

VP is good at the bar and you can get craft beers for free...like someone said, the ribs are excellent and with the card you get an additional discount.

I've enjoyed every meal I've had at Ellis Island and I especially love their chicken fried chicken that they serve in the mornings. "Yummy" is right!

We have had the steak special several times. I love the garlic green beans that come with it. Never had a bad steak either. I have always wanted to try the BBQ ribs. Never been able to get a booth. This was before the remodel.Maybe its easier now.

Consistent food. Great breakfast.... steak and eggs. Steak special is fine but we go for the ribs at least once a trip no matter where we stay LVA always has a b1g1 coupon for the BBQ joint. The rack of ribs is huge and I can never finish it.

If you haven't been in a few years... you won't recognize the place after the remodeling.

I'm also an Ellis fan. Just got home a week ago. We drank, gambled, & ate there 5 straight days. One day, steak special med rare 5*, son in law med (came well done sucked shoe leather), next king prime rib med rare 5*,next 1/2 lb EI burger med (rates with one of the best),next the country fried steak & chicken, (wow), next the BBQ we thought it was 5*. That rating was ours. Everyone has their own flavor of BBQ. The burger was so good I ordered it on the way to the airport. Also, at our hotel pool, I brought up EI and new friends that were skeptical. They went and said it's the best dump secret in Vegas. They said we may eat there for our whole week. Casino is so small the cocktail waitresses are around before you finish the first drink. People either hate it or love it depending on your income & status.. Some people are embarrassed to say they liked it. 5* in my opinion.

Another vote for "LOVE IT"! We like the steaks, the bbq, and the beer. Never had great success at gambling there. We get a kick out of the seemingly 90 year old curmudgeon pit boss, but we'll keep coming back. Btw.... I once won a slice of pizza from the pizza place there. When I went to get it, he asked what beer I wanted. No beer, I said. The man told me that a beer came with the coupon, so of course I ordered one. The pizza was delicious.
