    My Trip Report

    June 25
We flew out of Tulsa, very smooth flight and landed just a bit early. We did the ride share service from Bell. We had a town car to ourselves. Check in at Aria only took about 15 mins. I paid extra for a city view that was ready. After getting settled into the room, we over to Shake Shack, but it was such a CF in there, we walked in and back out. We wound up eating at the food court in NYNY. We played there for a while, nothing was winning for us. We went back and played at Aria for a while, nothing noteworthy though. We went back up to the room to get ready for Garth Brooks. We walked back over to TMOBILE arena, got to the concert about an hour early, and waited and waited. Finally a couple of opening acts. Garth took the stage about 9. I think he played about 2 1/2 hours. The concert was phenomenal. It was one the best experiences of my life. We wound up going back to Aria and crashing.

We took the tram down to Bellagio, and played just a bit in there. We then walked through Caesars Palace over to The Mirage. We played in The Mirage and was cycling our money. We ate the buffet for Sunday brunch (a tradition). It was good as usual. We played at The Mirage a while longer, then started losing. We made our way down to The Cosmo and played there for a while. I was really impressed with their variety of machines. It was a fun place to play. We then went back to Aria for nap. We got up and cabbed it down to The Luxor for Blue Man and Fantasy. We played at Luxor for a while and did ok. We ate at the chicken place in the food court there. Blue Man was good, but I do not think I would want to see it again. It was very different. We had a while between Blue Man and Fantasy, and went down to Mandalay Bay. That place was sucking our money dry. Back down to the Luxor for fantasy. Fantasy was good, but somewhere along the way, I forgot to tell my wife it was topless (oops). I really thought she knew. We walked back down to Aria, and played there a bit before calling it a night.

We had the breakfast buffet at The Aria. We were not really impressed. We played for a while and were not winning anything, so went over to The Monte Carlo and played there., still no winning (a theme here). We went and ate at 800 degrees. This was probably the best food of the trip. We had tickets for Nathan Burton, so we made our way down to The Miracle Mile Shops. This is where the trip starts going south. I get to the box office, and they want us to upgrade our tickets from GA to reserved. I was like no thank you. We still had a while before the show and wind up just sitting around. It is getting to be time for the show, so we wander down to get in line. They have two lines, one for GA and one for reserved. W are in the GA lines, and start to go in. They are like the GA line is over there. We go around, and there are like 50 people in line. We were like screw that. We tried to give our tickets away to people still waiting to buy and left. We went and got a Fat Tuesday drink, and played in Planet Hollywood for a while. We had tickets for KA, so we made our way down to MGM. We played at MGM for a while. We did decently there. KA was excellent. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would Our seats were first row right in front of the stage. We then went and ate at Double Barrel Roadhouse. It was decent, but not worth $50 for a burger and nachos. Our waitress disappeared also. We went back to Aria and played there. We did ok, but not much winning though. Back up to the room.

Our last full day. We had to get up at 7:00 to check in for our flight the next day. We got up and had The Aria breakfast buffet again. We then played at Aria some more, but could not win anything. We got emails for free play at Cosmo, so we headed back down there. We held our own for a while there. We earned enough points for a free buffet each. We at The Wicked Spoon. I know people rave about it, but the food is a very different type than we are use to. We decided to head over to The Rio, since we had Rock of Ages tickets. We made our way to Ballys to catch the free shuttle. We get to The Rio and are very underwhelmed. It seemed very dark and dirty. We played for a while and our money was on fumes. We walked across the street to The Goldcoast. They were giving away luggage, so it was quite the scene in there. We finally ran out of money and had to hit the ATM. We went back over The Rio and piddled around until Rock of Ages. ROA was good, but we did not enjoy it as much as last year. We took a cab back to Aria. We checked with the MLIFE desk about our bill. We still had resort credit to use, since apparently it had to used at Aria. We went and ate at 550. It was nothing real special. $39 for average pizza and two drinks. It was 11 by this time and had a 3:45 wake up call. This was pretty much the end of our time.

Final thoughts. Aria is very nice, but there is not much there for us. We will probably go back to Mirage next trip or try The Venetian. It is so hard to keep two people going when playing slots. Cosmo had the best slot floor and drink service. I love Vegas and am always ready to go back..

Nice report...husband and I are considering Aria for our fall trip, so glad to hear some feedback on it. Did you get a chance to check out the pool area? Do you like the rooms there? Thanks!

Aria is top notch. Rooms are great. We did not make it to the pool. We are not fine dining people, so the food options do not really appeal to us. We can never seem to win there, and the drink service left something to be desired. Service everywhere else was excellent though.

We've done a few one-nighters at Mirage through MyVegas, we always like it there.
Enjoyed your TR, thanks for sharing!

Nice TR and sounds like you did a lot! Hearing you couldn't hit the side of a barn is a bummer though.

Also sucked about Nathan Burton. Going to the back of the GA line likely would have gave you a pretty bad seat unless you paid for an upgrade. When we saw him we thought he wasn't too great. Too many disappearing acts. His biggest trick was getting his hot assistant to marry him. That also goes for Murray Sawchuck (Chloe from "Fantasy" for Murray, one of my favorites behind Mariah).

And cosmo had the best drink service? Either they improved, I have bad luck, or other places have gone downhill. Lol

I've found their drink service to be hit or miss. Either they are excellent or cocktail service is nonexistent.

We got the tickets through groupon, so we did not feel like the added hassle was worth the $25 that we paid for them. We never had to wait for a drink at Cosmo. They were coming back when we were not finished.

Nice TR - you made it to a lot of casinos and shows! Sorry slots didn't treat you better - our last trip resembled yours as far as slots go. We stayed at Aria and Cosmo - good time but little luck on slots. This time back to our 'home' base at Mirage and Cosmo. Yes, agree with you that with two slot players playing, unless one is having some luck, it makes for a long evening in the room for the other - that would be DH on those occasions when his envelope runs dry, LOL - although he likes an excuse to nap or watch sports!

I too thought drink service was spotty at Cosmo - maybe cause ginger ale is hard to find. But servers were pleasant.

We are going to have to use some type of envelope system next time. More strip walking and sight seeing also. LOL.

Great report!! Sorry about the losses on those slots, but slots on the Strip in general are pretty tight. I try to stick to table games and the sportsbook for my gambling entertainment. Two people gambling must be tough. Lucky for me, when my fiance comes with me to Vegas, like in two weeks from now, she hates gambling and just leaves me alone and does her own thing. But then almost every night, we end up seeing a show as well. That is what she looks forward to in Vegas. Shows and walking the strip!!

The strip may be tight, but still a lot better than the local Native American casinos we have around here. My wife does not do the pool or massages or shopping, so when we are in Vegas, it is gambling or shows. It does make it tough. She also sprained her foot a week before we went, so that it made it a a lot better. LoL.
    Thanks for reading.

Never have played table games. I am intimidated by 1) I do not know how to play any, and 2) I'm afraid with the minimums my money would go extremely fast.
I never win in slots either.

This reflects our feelings about Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, too.
