How do you get from Cosmo to Aria without going back out onto the Strip?

When I did my first speed Casino Walk, I went back out to LVBlvd and up Aria Place. But a friend did it, and he claims he went out the back of Cosmo and right up to Aria. I tried it two years ago and just ended up amongst the traffic for the parking garage and really no sidewalks or crosswalks were to be found. At that point I just gave up.

Looking to break his time of 2:48 and don't want to get lost again.

I don't know of a way to get there from further back. I usually go through Crystals. Maybe he was thinking Crystals was part of Cosmo?

Took a quick look on Street View and saw nothing really promising

Come to think of it, that's how I usually do it too. Yeah I'm thinking he was confused.

If you go out of Cosmo near the check in area/parking garage... you can walk towards Vdara, then go up one level and you are at the sidewalk that goes from Vdara to Aria.

Hard to see in this pic - zoom in and out.

Asked a similar question on trip advisor to see if Crystals was still open after the shops close. I walked through there in the morning and was told Crystals entrance is available 24 hours a day. I know you have to go outside but that seems pretty quick.

I've read something about going out the North Valet of Aria to Cosmo.

pretty sure the north valet is longer than the back valet facing Vdara/Aria

I cut and pasted this a while back from another thread. It's directions from Aria to Cosmo, but I just did it in reverse and it works!

Head out from north valet from Aria walk around the curved side walk outside windows of the cafe. Almost arrive at Vdara and turn right to head down flight of stairs which gets you ground level and arrive at cosmo arrival area

Looking from there it seems like it would be shorter anyway to through Crystals.

You were on the right path when you made it back the cab stand area... You just gave up too soon!

This question has been asked and answered on the board a handful to times over the past couple of years. Please see these posts here, with map:

Having stayed at both Aria and Cosmo, the "back way" will be faster, although the Crystals path has improved now that the Harmon is down.

I should mention that per the "official" rules as I've established them for the Casino Walk, one merely has to establish oneself in the casino of the resort, and provide photo proof with evidence of gaming activities in the background.

Thus, for my purposes, in the past I've entered Cosmo through the north door by Bond and then exited fairly quickly out the southern door by LVBlvd.

I'm wondering if navigating all the way through to the back of Cosmo would take more time than simply going through Crystals from the Strip-side entrance? It would still be sometime before noonish.

Out of interest, what are the start and finish points of the race?

You said speed walking too, no running that seems very quick from casino to casino, the pic has to have evidence of gamin in the background as well? I think you should go with full video proof, that way everyone can see the route. What other casino to casino records do you have? This is an interesting game/concept.

One can start and finish at any location of choice. The first time I did it, I started at Riviera and finished at Encore. My friend (the current record holder) started at Bally's and finished at Paris. Both of these are, in my opinion, not optimal strategies. ;-)

Well, I never specifically state one cannot run. But my guess is running while indoors would be frowned upon by management! On my last attempt (which was supposed to be a practice run), my wife and I jogged for a bit from The STRAT to CC. With the knee I have that was a bad idea. We tapped out at Aria but I think the record was well within reach.

One very important rule is one cannot use trams. Moving walkways are okay.

It's kind of hard to provide concrete proof; it's kind of an honor system I guess. The way I first did it I took selfies and posted them on my Facebook timeline, these are timestamped. Runkeeper gets lost in buildings so that only works to set start and finish times with any accuracy. By rule one must be actually in the casino, that's why I ask for gaming activity in the photo (slots or tables), so you can't just step in the Esplanade shops at Wynn and say you were in there. Makes it a bit tougher, as some of the casinos are well off LVBlvd.

I've had the concept and site for a while and so far there's only a few of us interested, so I've not really evolved the process of documentation. I figured input from others would yield a practical solution. I'm guessing maybe the sheer distance involved puts off a lot of people, it's 8+ miles at a rapid pace. On the site I mention that I'm also interested in other types of Casino Walks, not just speed, so I'm open to creative submissions. But you still need to hit all 32.

I've given consideration to opening up a Fremont Casino Walk, that might be more accessible to some and could be quite interesting too!
