Hi everyone, What is the best sports book downtown? I am looking for three equally important factors: 1) TV selection - I want to be sure I can see as many games as possible (college football) 2) Drink service - I don't care about paying, I just want to be able to get drinks without losing my seat 3) Can I get a seat without getting there at 6 AM? Alternatively, I'd be happy to find a good bar which also has a ton of TVs to watch games after placing my bets at the book. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
We go to either Golden Nugget or Downtown Grand. Two different places, DG has tiny room with three tvs and small seating area, good part is it's never packed. Nugget is large and comfortable but can get packed. I would like to know if downtown offers this: Can you parlay one fighter with a fight that does not go the distance prop?
Stayed at the Plaza towards the end of March Madness this year. Their sports book was largely empty most of the day and evening. Ticket writers stated every 20 dollars in bets gets a drink ticket. (Tipped a dollar or two with 20 dollars in horse racing bets and got 5 tickets most times) There is a bar right behind the sports book with tvs as well. It was nice clean and comfortable. I would definitely spend a day there watching sports and drinking. My one complaint was the bartender at the bar closest considered a coffee with baileys (morning drink of choice) 2 drinks. Fortunately since I was getting 5 tickets every 20 minutes or so it was no problem.
I've not seen props like this on fights. I'm referring to boxing. I'd take props on Crawford/Postel as the only way money will be made is underdog and props. I'd imagine Cantor (now GG) would be the most likely as they use algorithms. GN is independent, so you could ask them to take a bet. I'm going to ask William Hill to take a prop on this fight. I'm doubtful they do. I'd say any casino with an independent book, GN is the only DT casino that has this, ask, or find someone who uses GG.
Plaza book is by far the nicest downtown. It's easy to get seats on most any Saturday, drinks are fairly easy, people respect if you put taken on your seat/table. They do a good job of getting every game televised on a tv. Nugget and Fremont are your only other options both are much smaller, less tvs. Grand does not have enough tv coverage or room for a busy Saturday
