    My Trip Report

Took a quick trip on my weekend.

Flight out of O'Hare was delayed an hour, cutting much of my Sunday night.

Took a Lyft, but had a bad experience. The driver gave the old, "traffic on Tropicana is terrible" line. I gave a non-committal response, but he took Tropicana. Then he decided to chastise me for indirectly calling him a liar. It was really awkward. Wanted to tell him, "You don't need to wait for this traffic, take Koval to Reno to Giles."

Vegas trips aren't supposed to be guilt trips.

Checked in to Delano. Because of the delay, my original room was given away. Got an accesible suite. Most was the same, but bathroom sink had different lower area and a roll-in, roll-out shower. It's really quite nice, not quite Aria corner suite, but for the price, very nice.

The first night, I searched for a place to eat. All the places at The Park between NYNY and Monte Carlo were closed, so I ended up at Secret Pizza. Secret Pizza never dissapoints, although they no longer have the water dispenser.

Next day was really, really hot.

Ate at Bayside Buffet on a MyVegas comp. Not super impressed. The sushi/spring rolls were very good, but there was no dessert station. Had to fix a bowl of berries as dessert.

Saw Ka for a second time. Quite different, especially at the start and end of the show. At the end, it was more dance and less dramatic, "they may die." Which in retrospect was bad.

Then downtown to see the end of La Bayou, Mermaids and Girls of Glitter Gulch. Downtown bars make drinks strong.

Back to hotel, regretting staying in the Mandalay are due to the long ride made longer due to being kicked off the bus due to a "biohazard" incident. Assuming it is puke, but the better joke is that someone dropped one on the Deuce.

It was super hot and I walked for a long time before another "deuceless" deuce arrive.

Just grabbed a cab to the airport, which was less expensive than a Lyft. From what I've seen, cabbies who go from the airport are shady while early morning cabs back are legit.

Great report. Thanks for sharing! Did you gamble at all?

Gambled a bit, but that wasn't the focus of the trip. Just a quick get away.

Almost all video poker with a stop at Wonka and some Quick Hits machines. Won some at MB, lost at Cromwell on the full-pay machines. Lost $20 each at Mermaids and La Bayou. Hit 4oak at the airport. Net gambling loss was under $150, probably less after drinks and other expenses.

That's sad its spreading to uber/lyft. But that tunnel going from the airport is a big money maker. I really wish you would have told him Koval to Reno to Giles. He probably would have STFU after that.

And sucks about the deuce too. Something to think about if I ever end up riding it late at night.

Losing only $150 on a Vegas trip sounds like a winning one for me. Thanks for the heads up on Lyft. I never had a bad experience before but it looks like the "taxi attitude" is creeping in.
