We will be staying at Sam's Town in the RV park from 7/18 thru 7/22. As we do not tow a car, we will be looking to rent while there. The current rates both from the airport and local locations is averaging around $70 per day, even using Costco codes!!! This seems incredibly high for Las Vegas. We would like at least a couple days to go around to the outlying properties we like.

Can anyone provide any discount codes that might work for our dates?

if you are 50 plus and are an AARP member, you can get great deals through them. We used them 2 weeks ago, went through Budget. Got a Ford Fusion, total cost for 7 days was 148.00

I agree, rates are really high right now. I am looking for codes also. Costco is high also.

I've tried the over 50 and Costco codes and still find the prices sky high. Hopefully things will improve soon. Not sure why they are so high, this is supposed to be a slower time in Las Vegas, I not aware of any large conventions in town either.

I've never seen car rental prices so high, even off airport; two weeks-over $700 and it's not just in LV. If this keeps up our 3-4 yearly trips to LV will be severly curtailed. We can't do Vegas or anywhere else without a car.

We got lucky and booked our July rental with Dollar back in April. Even then we had to set up a Swenson pickup/McCarran dropoff in order to get a good deal. Prices have climbed steadily since then. I also have never seen them this high.
Have you looked at Uber/Lyft options? Check Shock's and Sonya's info up in the sticky section. Good luck!

I've been playing the reserve and cancel game for rental cars in Las Vegas for many years now. These are the absolute highest rates I believe I've ever seen for Las Vegas. We want to travel out to Red Rock and down to M Resort while we are there. We have stayed at Red Rock on our last several visits and love the place. This time we are traveling in our motorhome. We're staying out at Sam's Town because of it's proximity to the casino and has the hook ups we want. Guess I'll have to check rates on Uber to see if we can do it that way instead of renting.

I will be out there for a week over that same time period. I always rent, but there is no way I am renting this trip. I have been checking prices for 6 weeks now, and they remain ridiculous.

I found the best rate was the Dollar promo code at the airport where I was able to get any size car for $164 for a full week (that included all taxes!). I booked it this morning...full size at McCaran for the first week in December.

I am coming out to Vegas in late August and ran into high prices also even with Costco savings. I then tried using a different pickup and drop off location. Using Costco booking, I selected the Enterprise at the Hard Rock Casino and found it to be $80 cheaper then my usual location on S. Decatur. So from the airport it is a short cab ride to Hard Rock, grab the car and head to Ballys and Orleans for 6 nights. 7 day rental is $135 for intermediate car.
It pays to not only play with the dates but the locations too.

We have been renting off airport for awhile but from Budget on Tropicana. Tried the Enterprise at HR and it's cheaper than at the airport but still high-$249ish for a week in July. Also tried it for our two weeks in Oct.-over $500. Glad you were able to get that rate but it didn't work for me.

Sorry, no codes, but I have used Priceline many times for rentals in other locations, never had a problem. You can rent a Chrysler 200 or similar vehicle for $38 a day or $225 at the Airport for the Monday-Friday period. Or, there are two Enterprise locations about 2.5 miles from Sam's, 3620 E. Flamingo or 3745 Boulder Highway also available on Priceline. An Economy car like a Kia Rio is $40 a day or $197 for your dates, maybe you can get an upgrade when you pickup?

I found a good rate for a mid size through Enterprise at the East Sahara location and booked it using Costco codes. It is a full $80 less expensive than either the Boulder Hwy or Flamingo locations. I called the Sahara location to see if they would pick me up at Sam's Town and they transferred the reservation to the Boulder location at the same price. It's still a bit high, but I'll keep checking as always.

Just rechecked and got a better rate by almost $30 for the same car at the same location. We are staying out at Sam's Town RV park and the rental is for a midsize car for 3 days. When I first checked it was right around $260, WOW. Found a better price at the East Sahara location and made that reservation for $186. East Sahara transferred the reservation to the Boulder location to make it easier for them to pick us up. Just rebooked at the Boulder location for $158. These prices include all taxes and fees, used the Costco code for each.

It pays to keep checking back each day. Hoping the price gets even lower before our dates.
