    Wow this is impressive. I hope they make a show about it on Discovery or one of the other nerd channels. I saw one about the whole initial building process up through present time and it was fascinating.

    my uncle was stationed there, to guard it, during WW II.
    He got malaria.
    He had bouts of it, the rest of his life.

    I think I could live in Panama ?.....but I'd choose Costa Rica, first.

    I never have, but my folks took a cruise ship through it a while ago. They said that the ship was so bit, they could almost touch the sides sometimes.
