I am a long time vegas visitor but usually stay downtown. Heading to Vegas with my daughter end of July. She is in a body building competition at University of Las Vegas which is by Hard Rock. Would like to stay on strip for her first visit to Vegas. Need a decent size and nice room because she will spend a lot of time in room preparing for show. She also needs a good fitness room to do her workouts. Was thinking about Ballys but saw bad reviews on rooms. Seen reviews about rooms smelling like smoke even in non-smoking rooms. Was also thinking about Linq. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Want to make good choice for her first visit to Vegas.

Caesars has a nice gym and pretty nice, fairly large rooms. Try and get one in the Augustus or Octavius towers. I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend though. Venetian and Palazzo rooms are all suites so good size. Can't comment on their gym though.

I would lean towards something CLOSE to the competition if possible.

Ballys is just fine. EVERY hotel has bad reviews.

I never had an issue with non-smoking rooms being smoky at Bally's. In all my visits, it was an issue once at another hotel. I reported they problem to the front desk and they gave me a new room. For some reason, people act like the smoke can waft up to the hotel from the casino and it just doesn't happen. Bally's casino can be smoky but I've seen worse. It's about average to me. I can't think of too many rooms on the strip with that room size at those prices. I think it would be a good option. Linq has small rooms so it won't fit. Paris is more expensive but it would probably also meet your requirements.

Regular Paris rooms are small; 'P' rooms have a bit more room. I can't stand cigarette smells in my hotel and I've never noticed a problem at Bally's. If you decide to stay there...and that's where I would recomend, try to get a Jubilee room at check-in.

I'd say Ballys, Jubilee Tower has nice large rooms, I also had one in the indigo tower s few years ago and it was large, but the Jubilee tower is slit nicer,
