I generally Valet but with the new changes to the parking, we decided to try self parking.

This past weekend, I took my 3 daughters to Vegas to celebrate their birthdays. Given they are only 5, they didn't need the luxury of the Delano so we decided to stay at the Luxor. The pool was satisfactory and it was walking vicinity to the Arcade at Excalibur and NYNY.

I don't know if events at the new TMobile arena has anything to do with it but It took us nearly 2 hours to find parking at the Luxor at around 7 p.m. on Friday night. It was one of the most ridiculous things ever. We tried to self park and all the lots were full. None of the attendants would tell us where we could park. It was a giant cluster. We were fed up and went to Valet and valet line was spilling into the streets. I have never seen it this bad before.

Fast forward to Saturday night, we self park at the Bellagio so we can see the fountain show and walk to Serendipity across the street. Obviously the amenities between Bellagio and Luxor are night and day but I just wanted to comment on how easy it was to self park at the Bellagio.

Does anyone have any other favorite places to self park around the center of the strip?
How would you rank it based on
    1) walking distance
    2) price
    3) structure (new, old, dilapidated)

I also self parked at Linq but I felt that it took forever to get to the strip from there.

Aria parking is pretty neat and has easy access to MC, Bellagio and Aria either via walkway or tram. Unfortunately it is not free anymore.

The garth brooks concert may have had alot to do with it. Mandalay bays parking this weekend was brutal too, they were redirecting people to the delano lots because they were full and running a wait of an hour to pick up cars.

I understand why they are charging for parking now.. i dont agree, but i get it. When these massive hotels parking garages are full, theres a problem.

Yes I also agree with why they do it. Also, to put things in perspective, Valet in Hawaii last month was almost $40 per night and self parking was $32. Not that it makes it any better.

When we do venture down to the center strip our parking preference is the Paris self-park garage. Easy access from Las Vegas Blvd or Audrie Street. Still free until CET jumps on the paid parking bandwagon, nice walk through the Paris shops/restaurants on the way out to the strip.

Guess the new parking fees need to be increased.

we were staying at Caesars a couple of weeks ago. We've parked there many times in the past. It was crazy. took us almost an hour to find parking.
i just assumed it was because people were parking there because it was free.

    {Shock!} Yer kidding!

Last several times I've been there and had a car, it's always been marked as full or else no spaces other than the tippy-top frying-pan level! Even during the day on weekdays! I've sometimes even had to resort to asking Mr. Lincoln or even Mr. Hamilton for help getting into their valet park!

I've found that the CET garage most likely to have some covered spaces open is the Paris garage, but it's usually a major hike from the open spaces to civilization.

I've been in and out of that Flamingo garage a few times since Sunday, the first levels are valet, then some Hertz spots, Hilton spots and then plenty of spots for us to choose from. Level 5 last night. Then stairs to level 3 and into the casino. I'm sure the weekend will be a different story but we'll be over to the Palms today. I believe there's another Flamingo garage, maybe that one is bad.

I've only known one Flamingo garage. South and east of the main building entrances. Cramped, hot, noisy, congested, and almost always marked full.
