We are going in July, family of 5. I used an mlife offer at Mandalay Bay for reduced rate Saturday night, then free night Sunday and Monday. I am also paying approximately 500$ for another room for the 3 nights.

Can I use a 50$ my vegas freeplay?

Believe the fine print says cannot be used with any comp nights or offers. I was turned away in May at MB MLIFE desk.

My brother in law used it Aria while he had comped nights - no problem
But I had read others were turned away.

If you are paying for addition rooms that meet the requirements then just make sure your name is on the room at the front desk.

In March I stayed at MGM and had no problem getting the $50 free play on a three night comp.

MB is the only one about the rule about not being on a comped room. In December I had trouble getting them to let me use FP rewards because I was on an offer that was a reduced rate but included minimal FP. I argued it since I was paying for my room and the rep relented but said I could only redeem one reward even though I had all 3 - I went back to a different person the next day and they let me redeem them without question, so it may depend on how the worker interprets the policy.

Interesting, We stayed at the Mirage in April on a three night comp with FP and resort credit and still used $75 FP from myvegas and bogo buffet coupons with no problem,
We will be staying at Aria in October with FP and RC from MLife and will be using FP and BOGO buffet from myvegas.

Yeah, individual casinos may have their own thing, but I've been able to use these freeplay offers while staying on comps at both Luxor and MGM Grand.

Willywilkes already said that MB is the only one with restrictions, not sure why MGM Grand, Luxor, Mirage and Aria are being dragged into the conversation.

I guess I have to really read the fine print... when staying at M-Bay in May I could nopt use the My Vegas freeplay as we were staying on a comp.
An issue I did not have in the past at Aria.
I will be at Bellagio on a comp in September... it sounds as if I can use MyVegas freeplay there?

I used My Vegas $50 Freeplay at Bellagio last trip on a fully comped trip with generous Bellagio FP and RC. No problem. Probably depends on the hotel. Try it. If it doesn't work, cancel the reward.

Just remeber, load the rewards BEFORE you hit Vegas. You won't see good offer once you land as they're not for locals...

As mentioned Mandalay is the only mLife casino to impliment you can not mix myVegas with reduced rates/comp nights. Its been this way for awhile. Since you say you are also paying for a room, make sure your name is on that room and give that room number to the mLife critter. We did this with our suite compd discount base room but on but paying for ny OH parents suite. They did see my name on all 3 reservations/rooms but just asked if we were celebrating something.

It only applies to comp nights. I've used FreePlay at MB multiple times with reduced rates.

Not according to the rep at the begining of June. Maybe she was just misinformed as she said had I only the two rooms comp and a reduced rate I would not have been able to redeem. I had $800 FP anyway so didnt need the $50 but was giving it to my MIL.

If you had two comp nights and one reduced rate night and trying to redeem $50 FreePlay, then yes I can see that not working. But if you're staying on an Mlife offer with just reduced rates, you should be ok.
