Hi, all. Quick question regarding CET: Once a hotel reservation is made (say, several months in advance), do the offers for that time period become non-existent since the company "already has you"? Is it better to wait and book hotel once the offers arrive?

The reason I ask is because I booked a trip in Feb. for June. I had one offer, then, for June, but nothing else. I have (and had) a ton of offers for May, July, and August. I'm going again in October and don't want to lose out if this is the way it works.

    Thanks for any insight! :)

Same thing happened to us. We booked at the end of February for June 30 - July 5th. I have offers all around those dates but nothing decent for the time we're actually there other than the "Stay with us and you also get" ones that are good until 2017.

When I use the CET calendar it shows what's available, (comps or rate) even for the dates I already have booked. But I only book thru the calendar, not the offers I am emailed. Hope that makes sense.

I also generally just use the calendar. I still get offers and if one happens to be the week I am going I call and ask them to add it to the room. I find the comps to be better using the calendar, usually. It is 2 different departments I know from phone calls one is marketing and I have forgotten what the other is. Usually if you book on the calendar you can cancel on line if you book on an offer usually you have to call to change the reservation.
    Hope this helps.

I want to say yes...I once booked way in advance for a January trip. As it got closer, I realized the weekend I was going was also the weekend for the TV gift. However, since I already had that weekend booked, I never got the notice of the TV gift. I was told by TR desk that if you book before an offer is released, there is a good chance you will not get the offer for those dates. They were able to resend the offer to me, but it was a generic notice with very little details. I ended up having to cancel that trip anyways.

It seems to me that booking far in advance, whether it is through the calendar, or a host, does NOT hurt the room offers.
However, the extra front end incentives, such as free play and resort credits disappear or shrink to insulting levels.
My approach now is to buy my air tickets whenever I can get a good price.
But I book my rooms and perks when I see the offers for my travel period. Those offers generally show up 2 to maximum 3 months ahead.
I am a CET player. They have the most sophisticated player analytics in the business.

Steve, I agree. I'm actually going to cancel my room for my October dates and rebook when the fall offers come out. I have a free room at Caesar's, but that will still be there even if I don't book until September. Thanks, everyone, for your info. :)

Basically what everyone else has stated.
Plenty of offers around the date,

Funny that you say this, I'm actually getting much better offers at pH (out of nowhere now) versus the other CET Vegas casinos. I'm assuming it's because my play there is just that much greater when I do go vs other Vegas casinos.

Regardless, I'm excited for my next trip -- I'm shooting for 1500 TC / day. Doesn't seem like much but even with max bet $1VP and Slot Machines (which are about $4 for the max bet), it takes a lot of time...I'm not one to spend my entire day gambling haha. I want a host, dammit!

We had booked our asp 2 trip quite a while back (air fares very low) and received no offers for the time period we are going and are not able to get any. So the answer in our regards is yes the offers stop for the time period. We have standing offers for summer months, so we are good but would have liked a couple other offers we know we would have gotten. We are 7* with a decent ADT and better market theoretic........Rick

I lose all offers with perks over a time-frame I have already booked. This time I waited until they finally came out before booking so I could at least get some freeplay. If I book early, I can still get any comp room I want but I can't get the 'offer that goes with it.

Of course, you might not know about offers that don;t show up because of a reservation, because, well ,they don't show up.

But, I get basically the same offer every two months - two codes with an expiration date, that can be used to book any dates in the next 14 months or so, and with $100 freeplay and $50 Resort Credit. And I usually book using those offers.

But even after booking I've had better ones still show up that cover dates already reserved, like $225 in freeplay.

I do the same. I book my flights first ( Just like Steve above) and contact my hosts after the fact. He waits and adds the offers and extras closer to the date so I get the best ones.

This is how we do it too (usually). However, when we booked our asp 2 trip all facets had to be booked at the same time so I am sure this cut off future comps for that time. We were able to get the $200 fp/$50 food added on so that is good but no other offer showed up. We are very happy with this but it just is as it is. We will continue to book our flight and let our host take care of the rest when the offers are available; except for 7* and asp 2 trips.................Rick
