In 10 days I will be staying at Harrah's. I have been to Vegas many (14) times before, but I have not been for the last 3/4 years and was wondering if you fine people had any suggestions on activities/new activities/eateries/good deals that my wife and I could do/visit in the Harrah's area that you yourselves really enjoy doing. She likes the pool at the Rio and Caesars, is Harrah's comparable? I am a poker/craps player and she is a slot player. I know about Ellis Island/Casino Royale/High Roller and most deals that have been around for a long time. We usually eat a breakfast around 9:00am and eat a lunch buffet around 3:00pm for our meals of the day (she likes a late night snack). Just looking for some ideas that I may have never tried before or that I am not aware of that they even exist.
(Yes, this trip I chose Harrah's over the Linq. Paris, Planet Hollywood, Bally's, Flamingo, and Rio, all would have been comped) I like $1 Michelobs at Casino Royale and the Venetian is my favorite poker room.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

In March the wife and I ate at Guy Fieri's place at the Linq. The mac and cheese burger was very good as well as the Bloody Mary.

We had lunch at the Hexx at Paris. The patio is great for people watching. There was a Groupon which made the price better and there is a MyVegas for 241 drinks.

The Auto Collection at the LINQ was okay. There is a free coupon on their website. You have to print one for each person.

I plan on visiting the Hash House A Go Go LINQ for a breakfast on my next trip. I have read nothing but good thiings.

EggSlut is open at the Cosmo. Another breakfast place I want to check out as well.

Had a crappy meal at Hash-House-A-GoGo (HHAGG). I had ordered their regular two egg breakfast w/ hash browns and bacon. It sucked. Harrah's does have a new food court in it that I would be much more interested to try...or trek to Ellis Island for a REAL breakfast. Make sure you get a players card at Ellis Island and ask about benefits when you're there, there're quite a few gimmes.
If you're diamond level, the Link and Cromwell next door don't have diamond lounges so they allow you to order free from a couple of specific bars...without running your card. Nice.
Harrah's has also opened a new oyster bar in near the corner of the building that leads to the Casino Royale. It is very very good...especially if you have comp $$.
The pool at Harrah's is about the worst CZR pool in LV. Cement rectangle with cement decking tucked away between buildings made with cement walls several stories high. Horrible. Talk to a host about being able to visit another pool.
The Link and Cromwell have great feels to them and are worth spending some time in.

Hash House a Go Go is very good with extremely large portions. You could easily go there instead of a buffet and fill up. I also second the Oyster Bar recommendation although it can get pricey. My favorite restaurant recommendation is outside seating at Mon Ami Gabi after dark. Outstanding view of the Bellagio fountains and the food is excellent. It's not ht highest end place in Vegas but you can't beat the view.

Yeah, we spent over a half hour there and we were short on time so we missed a lot. Should go back soon.

Oh yeah, Big Elvis...at the piano bar next to exit leading to the Carnival Court. (And the Carnival Court if you're inclined to that type of bar) Big Elvis, while not being too sexy does have a really good voice that approximates Elvis' voice. If you play craps, they have a craps table right in front of the piano bar and you can situate yourself at the craps table and watch (and listen) to Big Elvis. Nice. Big Elvis and Craps.

Harrahs runs a slot tourney M-F from 11-2 & you can earn up to 3 entries by point earn at Cromwell, Linq & Harrahs. Fun to do and chance to win free play.

I love HH for breakfast. Also Mon Ami for breakfast on patio. Margarit's like now offering breakfast again. Always enjoyed that.

We've chosen Harrah's over those other CZR props as well just to be next door to our favorite 24 hour cafe on the Strip: Grand Lux

+1 votes for Harrah's Oyster Bar (steamers!) and Mon Ami Gabi (steak au poivre!)

Tag Bar in the Linq has an outstanding beer selection.

I typically don't care for the family friendly shows, but Mac King is cheap and definitely worth seeing.

Absinthe is across the street and while not cheap, it's priced lower than the Cirque shows (and is more entertaining IMO).

The pool at Harrah's is the poorest of the Strip properties. There is no shade unless you get a cabana, lounge chairs are limited, so if you do go to the pool get there early if you want to secure a chair. There are two pools, but one is shallow(like a kiddie pool); the other pool is large enough to swim laps if you so choose and it does have a deep end (7-8 feet deep). You are surrounded by concrete buildings so it can get pretty hot poolside. If you want to work on your tan or cool off with a dip in the water, this place will do, but that's about it. The cafe has been replaced by a food court and Big Elvis performs in the piano lounge just off of the casino floor, on Mon, Wed & Fridays in the afternoon. They have remodeled the bar area at Casino Royale, "upgraded" their food court which now includes a White Castle. A Walgreens drug store is now where the Denny's restaurant used to be, with the restaurant now being on the 2nd floor. The Linq promenade between the Linq and the Flamingo offers many dining opportunities; if you like craft beer, check out the Tag bar at the Linq the bartenders are great as well as an extensive selection of brews. Harrah's is in the process of remodeling their rooms, so see if you can get upgraded to one of them. The Grand Bazaar shops in front of Bally's is not worth your time.

I like poker at Mirage & TI and we were going to stay at Harrahs but I was there 2 weeks ago & the unrenovated room are very sad & the walls seemed very thin.
We have decided on LINQ for our July trip. Rooms are much nicer than Harrahs, casino is fun & still as close. Pool still sucks.
If pool is important to DW, I'd switch to Flamingo--still fairly close to Venetian, but much better pool for her.

go to the Hash House website and register. They will send you a buy one get one free coupon that you can use. Travelzoo has a coupon for 2 for the high -roller that might still be valid. 2 people for $25 in the happy hour car for $25. Must use by 7pm.

HHAGG has been great the multiple times we've gone. And the portions are huge, as in my wife and I could split a single meal and still leave full. I don't think I've ever come close to finishing one, although I always want to because they taste great.

Thank you to everyone that has responded and made suggestions.
We usually walk between 8 - 10 miles per day and I know that we will also be seeing a lot of the other stuff mentioned above.
If you have anymore suggestions, just post them here.

I think that we will try some of the following:
Hash House a Go Go (Linq/Rio)
Guy Fieri's place at the Linq
The pool at Harrah's (she said that as long as it was wet and clean, she was ok with it this time)
Harrah's piano bar and Big Elvis
    Harrah's new food court
    Harrah's new oyster bar
    Mon Ami Gabi
    Mac King (already have coupon)
Ellis Island (we always go here)
