I'm taking two vegas virgins for their first trip in September. I'm trying to think of the can't miss stuff, we only have 2 days to cram a lot in. Keep in mind we're mid-late 30's guys who like a cold beverage every now and then.
    Obvious stuff:
    Fountains
Rooftop Bar (taking suggestions on VMB favorites)
    The welcome to vegas sign
    NYNY piano bar
Pool action, most likely at Mirage because we're staying there.
    Caesars, duh
    Venetian canals (maybe)
Downtown (maybe, only because of the time factor)

My advice is don't try to cram in too much stuff. I know you only have 2 days but I still think less is more. Take time to enjoy each thing and if you don't get to everything on your list it's a good reason for them to go back.

Since you want a rooftop bar I would suggest going to the lounge on top of The STRAT . Best view in Vegas. Bellagio no doubt. Fountains and inside.

Will you have a car? I don't think that matters actually, based on 2 days, you won't really need one. Should you decide to go downtown just hop on the bus or Uber.

For first timers (and I'm taking a couple of them on my next trip later this month) I've found that just spending a day walking the strip is great fun. Those 3+ miles are unlike anything anywhere else in the world. Stop inside a few of them, have a drink, do some gambling.

Oh yeah, the strip walk. How could I forget that?
Strat is a good idea, I've actually never been there and they'll probably think that's pretty cool.
I think we're going to uber for anything we'll need to drive.

Full day strip walk. Start at Mirage and work your way down to M-Bay. They have two roof top bars. Walk, stop and drink, walk. Walk, stop and eat, walk.

with 2 days, i would only go downtown if that is something they have shown interested in. I love Vegas, and my first time downtown was great.. i loved it. To others, its very underwhelming. The strip walk is the best for first timers...it's always impressive seeing the different hotels/casinos up and down the strip. Stop in and have a drink at any bar that looks inviting..

I thought "country club" was the golfing - turns out they have a restaurant with that name. Since Wynn is a bit above our level, never been there, but would guess you could find some foodie reviews in the restaurant section.

I did a quick check on Yelp and it looks good. Don't forget there are lots of great places at Mirage as well. (since you are staying there)

Thank you, I'm mostly familiar with the offerings at Mirage, Wynn not so much although it appears to be really good. I trust the people in here more than yelp or things like that.

Riding the Venetian gondolas was underwhelming

However going to the top of the Eiffel Tower was a gorgeous view, particularly at night when the Bellagio fountains are going.

Get them up really early and watch people making the walk of shame...

I like the Strat idea--we really enjoyed the view from there at dinner but you can do it cheaper just having drinks...

I have seen some reference to pools that have cabanas you can get for a certain amount of $$$ for food/beverage purchases. If they are pool people, that may be a winner...

We're 3 pretty good sized dudes, I'd feel bad for that boat.

My suggestion: Since you're staying at Mirage and only have 2 days stay mid-strip - there's plenty to do. Save the stuff like NYNY piano bar and Vegas sign for the next time (took me over 20 trips before I finally saw that sign!), if the newbies are anything like we are at VMB there will be a next time!

Since you are at the Mirage, start there and walk south, Caesars, Bellagio, Cosmo, NYNY, or further with stops for replenishments on the way. When you've had enough, Uber or Lyft back to Mirage.
Easy 10 minute walk from Mirage to Wynn for your dinner plans, then stop in at Venetian/Palazzo on your way back.
Next day, hit the other side of the strip, Harrahs, Linq, Flamingo, etc, with stops for replenishments, of course. Paris Eifel tower for view or maybe Uber to the Straosphere for rooftop drinks and view.
    Mirage has a great pool.
If it were me, I'd save downtown for the next trip so you can do it up right! But easy to catch bus downtown and back if you have the time.
    Have a great time!

Has anyone been to the new version of Osheas? IS it as much fun as the old one?

No it is way worse now IMO but just walked through it quick without spending much time there. I miss the old Osheas
